  1. I think it's best to call them religious extremists. They don't represent the Islamic faiths core values just as those who comitted Christian atrosities did not represent that faith. There is not a war fought that hasn't used religion as some form of excuse to make man do horrific things to others. It's in our genetic make up to strive for power and possession and some will do anything to get that, war is where our darkest and most sadistic sides come out it's also important to remember it's where humanity can show just how brave and kind they can be. It's inevitable but it's always the innocent who pay the biggest price.
  2. We have peace in Europe and have had for some years now, as close as you will ever get anyway. That took a horrific period of history not once but multiple times to achieve. These people, not a nation or faith, just people wish to appose our way and have us follow thier old world ways. Sadly there isn't one nation to defeat or war to win it's about ideas and principals. Sadly I don't think the end is in sight, not yet. It will take a unified developed world, I'm including Russia etc to burry their own prickles with each other and help that whole part of the world to achieve peace and more importantly stability. This is a war make no mistake, it's just a very complex one. Currently I don't think we are prepared to accept this fact and do something properly. We are looking at it like an option which can be dropped if the budget doesn't allow for it. The one this that must stop and stop now is the media frensy, these people use propoganda and horror as thier primary weapon. Publishing photos, footage etc is actually spreading their aim, we are facilitating them. By all means documentation is required to show what's going on but it needs to be done with care. Showing footage of people being beheaded on national television is not useful is media shit and it must stop. Those are my opinions anyway. I think we are all going to have to change our way of thinking about the world and this issue. It's not something that's going to fade away if left alone or be over in a few short years.
  3. Good work Russ. I think I was lucky, I used a mates impact gun to remove the hub nut then unbolted the shaft from the diff and hit it with a rubber mallet it just fell out. That worked on both the old and new back ends.
  4. How much of your chassis rails been amputated to allow those jet engines to fit lol.
  5. You should have some play, like a little movement as the journal bearing is dry. Once the oil fills the bearing the shaft sort of floats in the oil. That however seems a bit much, if it can touch the sides that's not right.
  6. It will work mate just at 7psi instead of 9. An MBC is cheapish but obviously you'd be running the risk of making too much boost playing around etc, not worth the risk.
  7. I'd go with valve stem seals too. Why? Here's my logic. Compression is good proven by leak down and conventional, this in theory proves combustion isn't leaking or consuming oil, il come back to that. Turbo failure tends to show one of two symptoms either white/grey smoke on prolonged idle, or as you move off or blue smoke on boost combined with oil over the intake tracts. Valve stem seals typically leak over night causing blue smoke for the first minute or so. However, as the oil thins and it pools in the heads it can be sucked into the combustion chamber on the down stroke. Whilst you might have good combustion at TDC you may be loosing it halfway through the stroke. Or the too rings ok and the bottom rings warn. Unlikely I recon. It's very worth getting hold of a vac tester. This will show you what the vacuum is doing. If you google vaccu testing you will see what the results show you. You can also test valve stem seals with a leak down tester. Also bear in mind if a lot of oil went into the exhaust it may take time to clear.
  8. So many 99s I wonder if it's financially viable to buy a front fascia from japan. Might be a bargain.
  9. You need the restrictor or you will only get Wastegate pressure, ie 7psi on stock turbos. Mine are plumbed up this way. I don't have the knock sensor or boost solenoids anymore, just to keep things simple. You can set it back to whatever you want with an mbc or ebc without them still but yeah.
  10. "Oh sorry officer, I must have a dicky switch. Il get that looked at ASAP."
  11. The government might change regulations that force tax on fuel or road fund up in a year etc that cause a nose dive in the value of anything that isn't a sensible Eco hatch. A film or tv series may come out that has a Z32 as the star next week, that sends popularity through the roof. You just can't know. It's a gamble. Currently there seems to be a lack of good quality twin turbo manuals for sale, this is pushing prices up fairly steadily over the last 18 months or so. I wouldn't consider it investment worthy increases yet though, as I say I could crash as easy tomorrow. If you enjoy it keep it. If not and you don't need to sell ask for a proper price and wait for that price to be paid.
  12. If there was a proven 1100hp zed floating about someone on here might of heard of it before. It might have a block good for 1100hp but that's rather different.
  13. 1. Clutch change isn't difficult as such just time consuming. If you don't have the tools and equipment it can take a fair chunk if time. The garages can do it much faster with the lift and transmission jacks etc. If it's your first time and your working alone with basic tools it's going to eat most of your weekend IMO. I'd say it's only going to take a morning and it can be done that quick, but that's in good conditions with experience on your side. I'm guessing that quote wasn't including parts? 2. The rust on that arch is pretty progressive. I can't forsee you saving the arch without majour surgery. If the arch top is that bad the alarm bells of the sill and rear portion under the bumper are ringing. Many have thought, "it's just surface rust" it rarely is...it's always worse than it looks. The first car on face value is the better car.

Yes, I've got one somewhere. If you can fix a real one you can build a little toy version, if you need the instructions to put it together best you sell your zed and buy a skateboard. Seriously just buy it, just make sure you've got all the paint, which will likely cost more than the model lol.
  15. Has anyone got the part number for a jap spec TT brake master cylinder? It's a bm57 fitted to mine, nabco iirc 1.1/17" size.
  16. You may need to subscribe to veiw it but this thread has a massive amount of information regarding the fitment of wheels to the 300zx. http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=158303&highlight=wheels+fit I think my rears are 9J with a +35 offset and I had to roll my arches to get them to fit once I lowered it some more. The ride height can make quiet a difference to the fitment.
  17. Looks like you got off lightly. If I added two more zeds is be adding a sleeping bag and tent to the driveway to boot.
  18. Yeah I did mine too, just gently rolled them a bit at a time with an arch roller. The paint on the rear flakes a bit but that's it. Came out pretty nicely.
  19. I wouldn't surprised if the fibreglass units weren't heavier than stock TBF.
  20. Thought you might say that. The OEM wings weigh sod all as it is, so you may be creating something feather weight.
  21. I remember seeing the cut up arch pics. What are you making the wings out of?
  22. Ahh well that's worth pointing out then.
  23. Your turning it into a cupcake?
  24. Why? Seems pretty normal?
  25. A trip to the scrapyard is in order I recon. I bet those check valves feature in most nissans of that age, micras, almeras and primeras.
