  1. Was it doing it that before you arrived? May have been early symptoms of ptu failure, heat soak while parked etc. It really could be anything fuel or ignition related, down to a loose connection. Probably worth checking your connections and contacts, ohming the injectors and keeping an eye in things.
  2. So who got hit by them last night then? It was pretty exciting here. I woke up to thunder and lighting, once I realised it was bad I admitted defeat and got up. This would have been about 11-12. So I went to find the dog who was hiding under the dinner table, he hates thunder. Dog secure onto the cat. Found a wet rat under his sleeping tree and dragged him in, the wife then towel dried him and he turned back into a cat. Again secure and happy. What about the chickens she says, I reply just have to wait till morning. By this point the lightweight summer jacket I had on was drenched, I'm talking I was bath tub wet within less than two minutes. I needed to check the house, cars etc because by now the road had turned into a river. I'm not exaggerating here. I left my wet shorts on and dug out my proper coat, at least I wasn't going to get wet and cold up top, the bottom half was going to get wet again yet. Thankfully my house sits right back so all the cars were out the torrent. The cars in the road though were halfway upto the bonnet outside and further down the hill some were over it. I then spent about 15 minutes redirecting a handful of cars that had got caught in it. Stood in the middle of the road upto your thighs, with strong winds and fork lighting is quite surreal. It soon passed though and you could feel the rain ease off and hear the storm rolling off. Within 10 minutes, short of a few branches and debris you would never have guessed it had happened. The water was gone. Looking at the news there was little warning and this ripped across southern England bringing trees down and flooding with it. It was pretty good here. A proper storm. Hope everyone's ok this morning and that it doesn't cause to much disruption.
  3. Afaik, the aux fan is triggered in a few scenarios. Firstly in an ECU triggered situation where it's "overheating" 105 I think. Or it comes on in conjunction with the aircon it comes on when you drop into neutral.
  4. Assembly wise they are very simple. The pistons may cost a few quid though. It depends how cheap you have been offered them. The pistons apparently very rarely fail, it's just the seals. Mine cost £200 for the pair fully assembled but In used condition.
  5. I need to weigh mine. I recon it weighs less than that lol. But I was was expecting yours to be heavier with the ice etc. Closer to 1700kgs.
  6. Is that with the PCV system deleted? FSM recommends no more than 5PSI as you no doubt are aware, due to the PCV system allowing the rockers etc to become pressurised, popping the cam oil seals out at the front is apprently quite common when too much pressure is applied.
  7. Rear cam cover plugs potentially, if it's high up. You will just have to investigate.
  8. Sorry si I'm still playing catch up ATM. Three weeks off work has taken it's toll. I'm still sure we can rustle up more than 11.
  9. Type 300zx electric fan conversion into google, you will get loads of results. Do your research and it will be fine. The kit from Zcentre isn't big enough as said, the volvo and ford fans are virtually the same, although that's well known now so find either is becoming harder. I did start looking into it but decided I had more important things to sort. The stock system works very well, when it's working. That means viscous, rad and shroud. Too many bin the shroud and get poor cooling or have a bum viscous.
  10. Have a look at ebay, brembo discs and pads available for the zed for very reasonable money. OEM brake pads, probably not worth the premium. You wouldn't use the oem spec tyre if you could find it, these kind of things have cone on a long way in the past 25 years. I actually had some cheap pads from camberly auto factors in mine since I brought it. I needed new pads for it's first mot and my brakes have always been good so I had no reason to change them. Mintex are quite popular i believe.
  11. Expect only 8 are from here come on chaps. If the weathers like today it will be amazing.

  13. Thanks for keeping up with this guys. I've been rather busy getting married and being on honneymoon but I'm back on the swing now. Il update all the lists and get back to those with specific requirements. Thanks again for your patience.
  14. I know that....just that going rate for them in the uk due to desirability and low amount, it may well be cheaper to import a second hand 99 bumper from japan.
  15. Iirc pressure release valve, vents pressure from the fuel tank or something.
  16. What was the solution here in the end?
  17. That's ideal for bodywork! Just cut out the bit you want and crack on without fear of overspray.
  18. I expect you will find another one or possible two on the other side. The other Aiv and possibly the PRV most people don't remove the PRV though.
  19. Egr and Aiv solenoid connections I expect.
  20. Eeekkk! Does this not affect the rigidity and overall structural strength.
  21. Nicely done. I really like these and would have one tomorrow. The 350 doesn't interest me, it's a bit bland really but there's something quite eye catching about the z34. I couldn't justify having something that's cost me that much as a toy. With a mortgage, a new wife and hopefully kids on the horizon over the next few years it would be insanity. :( you enjoy it mate.
  22. Might be easier from above with the acordion pipe out the way? It's tight in there though.
