zed has a 70L tank, and that = 18.5gal so if you get 200 miles to a tank, that is: 200/18.5= 10.8 mpg 300/18.5= 16.21 mpg 400/18.5= 21.62 mpg hth

I was running Eagle F1's on my zed and was happy with them, I had to replace them and chose a cheaper option of Verdestiens. The level of wet and dry performance went up loads, but I put that down to new cheap tyres will always be better than old expensive ones. I was wrong. The next time I changed the tyres (just the rears this time), I went back to F1's and the level of grip actually went down. I will recomend verdestiens tyres to anyone and they are good value too i.e much cheaper than other performance brands. And they lasted me 10k miles instead of the 6k I used to get out of other brands (rear tyres).

I have been without my zed for one whole month and I can't take it any longer. I am about to burst! no other car for less than 10k can give you so much... so I am looking for another one. My question is what is the best year to go for? My guess is a '95/96 since thats the latest year we can get now... but is it? is any particular year have mods more desireable than other years? I know 99 spec is great - but I can't get hold of one so serious answers only please!

Dave, I have a volkswagen golf 5 door hatch, which is MOT'd and insured - but not taxed - you are welcome to have it to throw the engine in the back of it an drive it around to your hearts content. I was just going to give it to a mate to use a a stock car - but your needs are greater than his. I can even meet you half way to drop the car to you. Let me know mate...

you can get ceramic disks too, I know at least one member here has them and they were sourced by one of our traders. can't remember who. I will investigate. I was interested - but nobody would tell me how much they were - which I took to mean "If you have to ask... you can't afford them!"

He is a really nice guy called Dave who has just bought my zed. I will still be on here all the time, just I am going in a new zed direction now. :tongue: Dave came to test drive the car while it was on ebay - and is a real enthusiast. I couldn't imagine my zed going to anyone else, so we I ended the auction early for him. So say hello, I know he will be a welcome member of the club. Just be gentle with him in his first few days so we don't scare him off! (what am I saying? you guys were never gentle with anyone!) lol

I operate a ZERO tolerance attitude - no "three strikes and your out" crap for me. I will be as nice as pie to anyone and everyone - and I am a very patient guy and can also generally tell the difference between when someone is having a bad day and someone being an a$$hole. But deliberately fook me off - and thats it - no second chance - you cant be trusted. That goes for friends - work - shops - restaurants - anything. The only place it doesn't apply is family - but I generally just beat them with an iron bar and tell them don't do it again.... Although that is getting tough on my granny now she's 96 - so even that will have to stop soon.

is the belt fitted (looking at the engine its the right hand lower belt)? It may have been removed.
