I have been without my zed for one whole month and I can't take it any longer. I am about to burst! no other car for less than 10k can give you so much... so I am looking for another one.

My question is what is the best year to go for? My guess is a '95/96 since thats the latest year we can get now...

but is it? is any particular year have mods more desireable than other years?

I know 99 spec is great - but I can't get hold of one so serious answers only please!

I'd say series two onwards as Nissan dispenssed with the tweed and added an electric PAX seat. Doesn't bother me so much as I will be changing my interior at some point. Series 3 had a nice spoiler than the original series 1 rubber/foam composite one. Later models had a 4 speed fan.

All other info can be found here.... http://www.300zx.org.uk/mod_comp_0.htm

I'd personally say that no one model is really that better. I'd go on the best condition one available as changes are so small in relative terms. Choice model is the 99-spec though.

You can have my 1999 car for £10K ;)

(NA, auto, targa, 2+2, skyline metalic purple, mint, 55,000 miles, 18" wheels + originals)

the younger the better. I think about 1996 quite a lot of the electrics changed. The HICAS went to electronic too. I think the ECU went to 32bit also.

This means it will be harder to souce electronic parts, and many of the electronic aftermarket products may not work.

91 is best. It's got more stuff (sorry for being so specific) than the later cars (I've a 97) and they were making large numbers of them so the profit was there. In later cars, they were cutting corners - that's my experience. For instance, the boot carpet in the later models is thin and poor quality - earlier ones it's woven, edged and soundproofed - and (again) without going into detail, it's a similar pattern all the way through the car.

Good luck

1992 - so you can get the series II interior, and it will pass the MOT without cats!

That's what you want and coincidentally that's what I've got...
