Is anyone here a Clifford alarm specialist?
Everything works, but the remote start just turns the car over, but won't start it. Any ideas?

What are the next cars to go up in value?
Practical classic magazine have a feature called "future classics" They have had really odd cars like mk1 toyota mr2, volvo 480es, vauxhall omega, mazda mx5 to name a few. late 80's early 90's BMW 7 series, alpina a610's are going for rock bottom prices at the mo, and they are sure to go up in value. Jensen interceptors are cheap as chips. depends if you want old (50's-70's) or new (80's-00's). I'm pretty sure I have a list of future classics somewhere. I will dig it out for you if I can find it.

Headlights - need them brighter.
I thought aftermarkert HID conversions were no longer legal due to the headlight lenses of normal lights weren't designed for such high power and couldn't control the footprint of the beam?

What are the next cars to go up in value?
don't laugh, but when I was looking for an old mk4 or mk5 cortina as the base for my westfield, I was hard pushed to find one for less than £1250! I thought they would be £50 bangers by now!

Insurance advice
I just got a quote for a zed on a classic policy from Carole Nash £330 Fully comp..... Not bad - but they don't take into consideration my NCB, and I won't earn any. So if I keep my zed for 2 years, I will lose all my NCB? If I transfer over my insurance from my current car it will cost me £500 - but I get to keep and add to my 4 yrs NCB.. is that worth and extra £170/year? My last option is to transfer over my NCB to a mk4 Ford cortina shell I have in my garage. The car is strpped and is the basis for a westfield I am building at the moment... but insurance would cost would be next to nothing - I can keep my NCB going and get the cheap Classic policy. What would you guys do?

PHP question
Thanks for that Nick, but I can't see how a database will benefit me. Just get the PHP script to look in the directorys that hold the vids. If you can show me where the extra layer will benefit me, I will bow down to your greater knowledge. This hopefully would only be a last resort though, as I am still looking for a solution I can buy out the box. It will save me a couple of weeks coding.

PHP question
Is there an out the box tool I can use to do the following? On my website I will have a section like a photo gallery, but for the short films I make. I would like to display the thumbnails of each film (probably grab the first frame) and when a user clicks on the the thumbnail, the film plays. I cant see anything, but I haven't been working with PHP for long. I would rather use something that is already out there instead of code it myself, but will if I have to. Let me know if any of you PHP gurus know of anything or have made anything similar I can take a look at.

Cost to supply and fit the following:
Racelogic traction control (with digital adjustment) Boost controller. Please let me know the range of boost pressures the controllers will work at, as I want to turn boost down when my Mrs gets behind the wheel. on a side note, is it safe to drive a TT with 0psi boost? what would be the effect on the engine and what sort of power would it produce? I am guessing it would be less than a standard n/a.

How did they do this to the rear window?
Instead of making a tub for the window, has anyone considered replacing the whole tailgate? Maybe something like this? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=74217&referrerid=4807 I'm not talking about the full conversion this company have done, just a neat tailgate to follow the rear side windows and remove the butresses alltogether?

Linux admin help needed
I'm sure your right chris, but I would have no idea how to check or what to check for! I signed up on the forum for the version of linux I am running, and I got no reply! I think this forum should be renamed - www.the-fountain-of-all-knowledge! (and-some-stuff-about-zeds-too).com

Linux admin help needed
When I installed the server, I only had the option of creating one user (which I called admin) so I assume that is the account I try and copy the files with. But if I try and copy/paste to that location - I get access denied. I must have read access though as I can view the webpage (as can everyone else!) is this enough information? Thanks for your help. :duffer: Steve

Linux admin help needed
I am about to move my http://www.filmagic.net website from a free hosting solution to a server in my spare room/office. The reason I am doing this is because I am making so many changes while it is in development, but want to see the site online so I know all is going ok. Once it is finished, I am happy to pay for a propper hosting solution from one of the hosting companies, but in the meantime - I want the control. The problem is, even though the Ubuntu server installed fine and the apache server works http://212.159.46.65/apache2-default/ ..... I dont have permission to upload any docs to my VAR/WWW folder, so I can't replace the website with my own. I am new to linux, being a windows man. Does anyone know Linux-apache well enough to give me some pointers? If it means someone has to come round I am happy to pay for some support. Cheers Steve!

Guess why I've just bought this??
well consideringing you have just sold your ICE, I would guess you will be replacing it with a decent system. one rca lead? its either high-tech and you are using it to carry a video signal..... or its rubbish and you only need one lead because it's mono. Maybe a 78" playing phonograph install in the boot?
