I have just replaced my NA with a TT and never really gave my NA any stick by booting it - with the way the Market is at the moment - I will probably still have it by the time this happens so I'd like to give them both a run up the strip to see how much is car and how much is driver skill... Out of interest - How fast was your 0 -60 time in your NA and what was the difference over the 1/4 mile between the 2 cars?

What about in car PC's? I didn't know they made them - I would rather fit something like that - or I have an ipaq running microsoft pocket pc. Can it work on one of those?

The MOT was just about to expire on my ZED so I took it my local garage to do some pretty minor work and they quoted me some ridiculous figure... So I thought why not have some real fun, go on one last mental blast and do the bits slowly and mod it over the winter... Sounded great like a great plan till I hit a roundabout far too fast and clipped a kirb hard enough to Snap the tension rod on the front supsension.. Can anyone sell me one - better still is there anyone near Hatfield Herts who could look over it and see if its worth fixing or junking and starting again. Cheers Steve

I was Driving a 1990 BMW 735 SE and found a classic insurance who classes any car 1990 or older as a classic they quoted me £240 fully comp, when I changed it over to the Zed, they asked for only an extra £35? I only got the policy in June so I reckon a full year would be £300 - I dunno about you but for a 30 yr old living near London with only 1 yrs NCB I reckon thats pretty good. They insured the Zed no problemo - they also gave me free breakdown recovery and 90 days fully comp in Europe. I might be asking a lot of questions cuz I'm a newbie - but at least I can be useful to some of ya.. Oh yes the name? But do you know 0-60 times for the standard model and what I can expect after the mods? Only had this car for a week and already i wanna go faster. I might trade it in for a TT. Somehow my insurance is next to nothing so why not? I got my car through a swap so I have no idea what it's worth. Am I likely to get a good trade-n value against a TT?

I have looked everywhere for performance figures for my '90 NA manual import and cant find them on the net anywhere? Does anyone know what they are? The only thing I can say for sure is the top speed of 112mph! Jock sent me a list of mods: Truth is, it is not a 220bhp car. the car was advertised as 220 bhp at the crank, not the wheels, you will probably be running about 180 at the wheels. De-restriction, an induction kit and a nice pipe and a chip will make it feel 10 times better and sound about a hundred times better. You can tune it further than that but its a good start. With no owners manual, I am struggling to make sense of my AC. No heater direction, just auto and off? Rec and eco seem to do nothing? Also if I have the temp over 34c the fan stops blowing until I drop the temp down? Can anyone tell me how to get the best from the system? Cheers, Steve

OK Guys now I'm worried, I topped up the power steering fluid and the noise has gon (expected) but the leak has stopped? I didnt pay anything for the car... I swapped it for a Reg Mondeo diesel. Not knowing anything about these cars I couldn't say how much it is worth (1990 manual Non turbo, 17" wheels, Cloth trim, no cruise but aircon and it's a T-bar roof 2+2 import 99K km's) So if anyone can give me an idea, I would be greatfull... The MOT runs out in a month, when I guess I will have to get the Cambelt service done at the same time, but can you tell me if it is safe to leave the propshaft bearing bearing until then? Oh and yet more fun, went to the pub last night and left the windows down and roof off, when I came back the passenger window doesnt work. I looked through the posts and found a way to get the window up again by wireing the window motor directly to the battery (thanks again guys)... All points to the question "Have I bought a Dog?"

Last thing... Honest! Even the the clutch is good and the manual gearbox works fine, there is an awfull lot of movement from the gear lever in each gear (like stirring a bucket of bricks instead of slotting neatly into each gear!) Any Ideas?

OK - After going through the millions of posts it looks like the prop bearing is the cause of the vibration, are there any 300ZX specialists near Hertfordshire? Still not found any clues about the steering or de-restriction problems, (can I turn off the beep when I go iver 60mph?)

Hi guru's, I have just aquired a '90 300zx Manual (not turbo) and had high eexpectations. I have never owned a jap sports car before and fell in love when i saw it, so I bought with my heart not my head. There is an intermittent vibration when I drive over 80kph (I will have to get the speedo changed as a priority). It's not always there, but most of the time it feels like its going to shake the car to bits! The car is leaking either brake or power steering fluid from just behind the passenger side front wheel. There is a really loud nise from the power steering pump when turning the wheel at standstill or low speed and the steering is really heavy at low speed. Lastly, as an import it has been restricted to 115MPH but even though the engin is smooth, it doesn't feel like a 220bhp car. Will derestricting it liven up all the performance? Have I bought a dog? can these things be fixed cheaply? should I cut my losses or stick with it? Cheers Stevie
