sensible mods like full ZTech engine rebuild, traction control, launch control, manual, good clutch (APRacing), new good tyres and lots of practice over the last few days (check my other posts). 4.5s timed on my gtech pro. I am getting ready for santa pod and I am quickly learning it is ALL about the launch. I know I can get quicker still, but I don't want to be too brutal on my car... it's my baby! http://www.letstorquebhp.com/calculator.asp says I should get a 4.15 which with more practice I think I can get, if my zed is the standard 1390kg's

Do any of the traders supply the digital display for TC, so i can check my set up myself?

I have a manual TT with Racelogic traction control with launch control. I just plugged in my gtech timer to see my 1/4 mile time and I am having a slight issue. with the TC set to 20% wheelspin, the engine still bogs down and I get a slow takeoff. Does anyone else have this setup, and whats the best way to use it? Also, what RPM does your launch control set your revs to? Mine is at 3500 and I think thats a little low?

I know that blue zeds are not very common, but.... I just picked a replacement blue tailgate and my Blue zed is a very dark blue - compared to the blue I see on other zeds... How can I tell if my very dark blue is a factory colour or if its a respray. If it is a respray its a very good job because under all the car pets/in the engine bay/in the boot are all the same colour. cheers

I get an average of 600km to a tank, I think thats about 360-370 miles. and I really boot it some times. I reckon I could hit 400-420 miles no probs If I drove it carefully - but where would be the fun in that?

Are they much bigger then? Is the extra time taken to get them spinning worth the extra power? What are they like to drive?

The insurance company couldnt get me Jap spec blue glass only bronze. apparently jap spec blue is different to blue spec blue. sounds like rubbish to me, but hey, its done now. Too dark for pics now, so I will get some done next weekend. Thanks for the support.

For those of you who are too new to remember or too old to care... I was a regular member, diving around the country in my NA... loved them so much, I bought a 2nd one to do up while i had my daily driver. Got bored and bought a rare all blue (Blue paint, blue leather and blue glass) which was meant to be good, but for a blown engine. I sent it to Ryan at Z-Tech who did a great job doing a full rebuild. Then came the fatefull day it needed an MOT so Ryan took it to a local testing station and.... it failed on everything. It stayed with Ryan for a few more weeks while he sorted everthing. Come the day it was finally finished and I took it for a spin to start the running in. I did the first 500 miles in 2 days i was so excited and... the damn gearbox blew up. I got that fully rebuilt then....... someone smashed a passenger window. after waiting a few months for my insurance company to sort it out, I have got fed up and yesterday I bought a new window from a breaker and fit it myself. I have just come back from my first propper drive after a year of ownership and... WOW it was worth the wait. what an amazing car. Yes guys... I.m back!

OK Dudes... I need your help! The Z-Tech engine rebuild is complete... The CTS Gearbox rebuild is done.... I'm almost set (after having nearly 1yr off the road) having replaced almost everything mechanical or electrical on my car... And the only thing stopping me is....? My insurace company still can't fit me a blue tint passenger side window. Why? Because the can't open the damn door! some glass must have fallen into the mechanism somehow because it all worked fine before. This is all I need to be back on the scene! Can someone help me by supplying and fitting a blue passenger side window, and help me open my door? Getting my TT back is the only thing I wrote on my list to Santa! Send me a text on 07946 264 525. It's not too bad, just glass everywhere! but I will need a window asap. Has anyone tried to fit one of these? I see it has a thingy (technical term) to hold the window to the door frame. how do these come apart? Is it an easy job? All I need the week before it goes into the garage for a new gearbox!

I read in a popular performance tuning magazine today that because LPG is 114ron fuel, is can actually offer better performance than premium unleaded. Not convinced I called one of the companys and they we really helpfull and said the reason people experience a drop in power (typically 10%) is because being duel fuel, the ignition is a comprimise between igniting the 2 different types of fuels (petrol and LPG). New Duel mode ECU technology means you can can have a mode for petrol and a super mode for LPG. This would actually offer the same performance - but a slight reduction in MPG - but being a 1/3rd of the cost of petrol can turn a 15mpg 300zx into a 40-45 MPG car pound for pound. I am seriously looking into it.

The clutch on one of my NA's is going at an alarming rate. What is the cheapest way to get my clutch done either from a garage or buying parts and doing it myself.
