  1. that's not too bad.. Got to get that done, the driver wing and the front bumper .. better get the KY jelly out
  2. How much should I be looking to get my boot smoothed (the spoiler holes) and resprayed at a reputable shop?
  3. Well if you're certain yours is working spot on I'll take it. How much are you looking for? My email is dlongmu@hotmail.com :)
  4. Just had a chat with Mike from MJP, very nice guy.. price is 280, which is steep, but will be worth it for the peace of mind. Going to go out today, jack her up and take off the starter motor and turn the motor to double check the guide ring isn't shagged on the wheel - and if not new starter it is :D
  5. Yeah looks to be 250-300 quid new. But then to be honest, a new one WILL last for years and years. I could buy 3 second hand ones and have the same problem on each, after all - unless its a smashed car, they are probably second hand because they are duff ;)
  6. The starter teeth aren't pushing forward and engaging with the fly reliably so keeping to basics it's gotta be the flywheel or the starter motor surely? Basically, especially in cold weather, on key turn the relay clicks, the starter spins up, but doesn't engage with flywheel and turn the engine, at most I'll get a slight attempt at a turn. Sometimes takes over 10-12 goes before it engages. Then as if by chance it engages and boom engine turns over a charm. But this plays hell with my batteries and fcks them in no time.
  7. Hi guys, where can I get a new starter motor for the z32 tt? It's a manual if that makes any odds. Do Nissan still sell them, and if so, does anybody know the part no? Thanks
  8. That's crap luck mate, mind you if he barely dented your door with a kick I'd imagine you'd have smacked him down in a confrontation. Shouldve just dumped the clutch and stepped on the brakes n sideswiped the bugger. On a separate note, what spoiler you got? It looks funky cool :)
  9. Jesus man, that rx7 and mr2 are stupidly overpriced, you could pick up a better mr2 for 300 bucks with mot and tax. RX7 about 5-600 in good nick. Forget ebay sales unless it's a cheap buy it now, it's not the best indicator of value. The BMW is a lovely car, but you could be well well well into the thousands to repair.
  10. 1 vote for don't fill! I looove the way the line looks on them, it really fits in with the era of the car! Early 90's look rocks! And I must say seeing smoothed 99 spec isn't doing me any favours. Not a fan like.
  11. Thing is, if a car driver makes a wrong move the worst damage it will do to an hgv is scratch it and at the extreme end of things cause it to jack-knife but if a lorry driver gets it wrong it can wipe out many people within a few seconds. A lorry once drove into me when I was in a slip lane he wanted to get into and didn't look at his mirror. And a 16 wheeler crane driver once overtook 3xtractors and a car around a main road blind curve right infront of me, I had to drive right off the road to avoid being killed, the guy flashed and waved in apology but had it been someone changing a CD for example that would have been it. I've driven hgv's loaders diggers tractors the works and the problem is that you really have to pay attention to what you're doing but not enough drivers do. Then again a car is a lethal weapon in careless hands just the same I suppose.. it's just a smaller one.
  12. Haha class idea, had to do this myself once on a 406 coupe, thank god my arms were skinny enough to reach through the tiny gap between the rear seats up and over to the seat release.. although I was doing it in a secure carpark for about half an hour lying outside a boot with loads of people around, not one person called the police lol
  13. Thing is can you prove it was her? Get a match on the paint of her mini from your car and have more than a witnesses account and recollection of the no. plate? It's a sh*t deal though..
  14. Take off the intercooler ducts! That's what stopped mine and after that it slotted right into place! Also getting the foglights to sit in nicely is a bit of a tricky business but 10 minutes of fidgeting should see you right.. wait till you try bolting it up through the indicator holes lol! Fun times to be had! To be fair my wing was a bit mangled which made my experience much worse than it needed to be
  15. I can do a direct comparison - I went from the Falken 452's to the Nexens, now the only difference in size was that I had to go from 265 rears to 255. To me the nexens are utter sh*t in comparison to the Falkens. Instantly upon leaving the first junction the lack of grip was noticable! The Falkens performed 200% better in all scenarios than the nexens and at speed the car was a lot more glued to the road. Sorry but Tyres is the one place where it's almost certain you'll get your moneys worth when you pay more - and it's the only place I'll definately never scrimp a few quid again - It's pretty much 350 pounds down the pan when a further 100 bucks coulda given me much better performance and confidence.
  16. one went on here not long ago for 1k or so.. the problem is there are so few trusted engine builders in the UK I'd take my chances just going through stock engines till they blow. It'd work out cheaper! Lots of horror stories on here and hardly any engine shops have experience with the VG
  17. We had a morning of -3 a fortnight or so ago I was like WTF shivvering in my car at 5am going to work :surrender: Deffinately time to get the good winter tyres on!
  18. You shagged a bird copper and she's given you a shot of the fezwagon?
  19. ps. i dont condone speeding - i dont go out racing people and i dont speed except in the very exceptional cirucmstance where I'm the only individual in a long distance unless on a private road with other guys and permission. By the way Leo your 300 looks lush!!
  20. manual twin turbo - not sure what revs, probs around the start of the red lines. It's been quite a while since.
  21. Like I say it's single track, in the middle of nowhere, wide as hell, and the only danger to others is seagulls or whales which decide to jump over the bridge lol. It's desolate with miles of visibility.. at any rate, I didn't say I did 175 on that road, just the private ones. I'm all for safe driving don't get me wrong most of my life is spent at 50mph and the only speeding offense I have is doing 34mph exiting a 30mph into a nat. speed limit from 5 years ago. Now and again though everybody has the urge to see what their car can do - and for me travelling 300-400+ miles to do it isn't financially viable. In reply to Coolq my car is running 15-16psi on stock engine, intake and decats/exhaust, ecu tune.
  22. I lose my balls at 175-180mph.. the front starts to feel unsteady at that speed and almost like there's a hint of lift. - could be tyres, could be aero.. I acctually have 3 very, very long straights near where I live, 1 is public but a single-track bridge with miles and miles of visibility, 2 of which are private and well tarred and you can easily see the top speed of a car - but if a mistake happens it's only myself to blame at the end of the day and I have a lot to lose so I tend to keep it to once in a very blue moon! Still some to go though, I'm sure with a downhill and tailwind 190-195 could be reached on the limiter - so perhaps 185 real mph?
  23. no chance - not without paying and having a very quick car (much quicker than stock/stage 1) will you see the potential of your car on a track. Sadly it's just the way it is... You'd have to travel to an overseas oval test track. Or find a motorway with no speed limit, or at least one you can't see..
  24. I've only once ever been hit with import duty and have imported loads of stuff from overseas
