  1. I can answer this one ^_^ the 300zx no question. Pal has an EK9 stripped, caged light as hell with engine full of spoon/5zigen bits and thousands spent. It is NO WHERE NEAR as quick as the Z with boost jets and exhaust/intake.
  2. Hmm... I'll find a long downhill and see what I can do :p
  3. Surely 200mph must be possible in a 400-450hp Z with the rev limit raised slightly...
  4. That's excellent news!! Mate your one in a million having that kinda luck - congrats
  5. Cheers for that, I'll do that with the green cable/rpm signal, already running a few other toys of those poor wires hehe. Stupid quesiton, I've tried using the self-tappers to attach it but they just pull out of the mounting point (its not hard plastic, I want it on the side of the cowl/hood which goes over the gauges, it's covered in foam/vynil). What should I use to secure it properly?
  6. Get the one on ebay for the mounts, then get a garage to weld 2 bars from each strut to the mid point on the bulkhead - job done, but is there really any need? Stiffening up the chassis isn't always a positive thing. Essentially 80-90% of people just want one for bling, if that's the case go with whatever it's all good :)
  7. Following this, call up Trading Standards and state your case, they will be able to find out whether he has the required insurance, and will advise exactly how liable he is or is not. In any case don't delay. Good luck
  8. Report it to the police, whether they do jack or not isn't the point - they will have it on record and you can use this as evidence when it comes time for claiming against his insurance.
  9. Ahem, last time I'm being cocky. just went to finish up and tighten up the castle nut - guess what nut has threaded, and it looks suspiciously like the threads on the ball joint nut are fubared too. Roll on another 60 quid for a replacement :'(
  10. thanks for help on this one fellas - ended up getting a nissan one, job was a piece of cake :D
  11. at the end of the day mate, it's well worth just saving up and paying a pro to do it. There's a reason it's not looking how you want it, you haven't mustered the skills and you don't have the equipment. If you're specifically taking the 'diy' approach, that's what you're going to have to be content with unless you have years to practice.
  12. Hey guys, got a big tach (we're all allowed a little bit of chavviness in our cars ;) ) and have instructions, wondering what wires under the dash I can splice from. Here's the instructions: red - 12v ign black - neg/ground green - tach terminal yellow - light switch Cheers muchly :)
  13. so just undo the nut pushing the hub out as far as possible then once it's undone use a hammer to split the outer/inner sections by tapping down on it? What about getting it back in line, same idea? Can someone confirm if this CAN definitely be done?
  14. Anyone know the diameters/length so I can email bailcast? I only got a week left for free retest and one day to fit part
  15. Ah nm, spotted 'em on youtube, can you get em over here in the uk? for 300zx for example? Still gotta separate the track rod end from the hub of course, worried I'll tear the ball joint rubber
  16. How does that work? you got a picture of a stretchy one or where to get one?
  17. I can't get it and I'm 26.. It's always the import thing which stops me, even through companies others have said they have managed insurance through with the same cars.
  18. Hey guys, MOT retest in a week, only failed on wiper blades and a steering boot, got a new one but to fit do I have to remove the outer rod ball from the hub, or is it possible to twist em apart? I'll mark where I started from. Cheers, David
  19. WOOHOO! little wiggle with the screwdriver behind the boss and jobs a good'un
  20. Wait.. I think I've worked it out - I recall the contacts from the 300zx boss are dodgy as hell! I'll take the whole boss off and sort it FINGERS CROSSED!
  21. Got my mot in a couple of hours and just realised the horn isn't working! It worked fine before the car was off the road :gun_bandana: the horn relay itself doesn't click, I've checked the engine bay 10a horn fuse and it's fine. Is there one in the kick panel which is related? The wires are all on the horns fine. cheers David
  22. It's not ebay buyer protection you gotta worry about, he knows where you live and I assume he aint far away. All depends how he takes the bad news. I wouldn't refund him that's for sure.
  23. doh - ur original question, they are japanese but I can't remember for the life of me the company mate sorry
  24. Hehe looks too much like a thunderbird car.. I wouldn't dude if your wings are both fine
