Its unfortunate that yours went shortly after increasing boost, the increased boost may have speeded up the failure but sounds like they were on there last legs. Increased boost will reduce the lifespan of the turbo, but stock tubs are capable of handling 14/15 psi (which is what most are running) all day long for many years and tens of thousands of miles.

PTU. Readily avaible for about £30 for a S1 PTU, or £130 for a more reliable S2 PTU. ECU can be picked up for about £100 of one of the breakers.

both, there is one under the stock airbox..although many remove it by mistake. Also, aftermarket bumpers dont tend to have one. ..and if you have a aftermarket nose panel, then some fabricate one above the filter as well as underneath

If you want the sound of an impreza, just remove a few coilpacks..and hey presto ;) Half the world thinks the Impreza is an overhyped common max-power taxi, and the rest are besotted with them and rate them over ferrari and porches. :rolleyes:

Spot on....although the Zed gearbox is just as stong as the Supra gearbox, if were talking about the Manual gearbox.

I have driven, worked on and been in many supra's, many times., and had friendly races with them in zed's too....and in all honestly...yes the toyota is marginally better in some areas in comparison to the zed (which is exactly what they did do for 3/4 years before launching it)....but they are minimal and when choosing between them it all comes down to which one you prefer rather than one being better than the other. ....although IMO the Zed does feel like more of a drivers car with a sportier feel to it ...supra has a more german sports saloon(family car) feel behind the wheel, and although its a very capable car it takes a while before you feel you can throw it about like the zed.

engine stronger...no...its just that there are more high power versions becuase its a straight 6 which is easier and cheaper to work on...the VG is more efficient and makes more power for given boost than the 2JE-GTE !

Thats a lot of money for a 15hp increase....torque would go up a bit...but still....money better spent elsewhere IMO

correct, its a twin MAF & Filter setup thats required for higher bhp. Although your talking closer to 500hp
