  1. Budget around £1200 for a Engine out head gasket job with Pressure testing heads..etc Decent Replacement engines can be hand for between £500 and £800. Labour is typically around £600 to remove and refit. The trouble is that if you removing engine then its worth getting the turbos inspected and reconditioned at same time, and quite often there are other items you would want to replace - Water pipes, EFI loom, Knock sensor, other gaskets
  2. Hicas is a meant as a high speed handling aid. Dependent on the angle of the steering wheel at the road speed it will either steer the rear end around with the car or it will quickly turn the wheels the opposite direction before changing to the other directions in a kind of "rally style scandavian flick". The max angle is only about 1 degree, and some owners wont even notice it, however many find it makes the rear end unpredictable and hinders feedback. Which is why experienced drivers and those using the car on the track will remove it. IMO a lot of it is down to the era the car was built in, with all the Manufacturers adding these technological gimmicks in an attempt to out-do each other.
  3. Cut it in half, remove a small section and tape it back up :D If thats not shortened it enough then repeat in small increments. :D
  4. Wether already mapped or not you would just replace it with new remapped version anyway. If ECU has not been socketed it will need to be done though.
  5. Have got rid...completely. Its a handy gimmick for pub talk, but for fast road or track work its best to ditch it.
  6. Imagine picking the kids up from school in that !
  7.
  8. It is incorrect on the zed. Filler cap is on the left and the symbol shows the nozzle on the right.
  9. No they are not the same, but S14 owners upgrade to Z32 brakes. They have to replace the Hub with Handbrake mechanism as there stock setup as combined handbrake and brake setup. I think they are the same as the R32 GTR's and R33 GTST though..but best to check on skylineowners.com
  10. Only mod required will be an ECU remap to tell it the different size injectors.
  11. umm you might have to move the sunny !
  12. Yep, unfortunatly seen a couple of thrown rods from oil starvation on track. I've read about a larger baffled sump being available but cant find one.
  13. We may be limited on what we can actually eat by what spaces are available so close to xmas
  14. I'll eat anything except fish. Traditional xmas Roast is always good but dont mind something different if its what the majority want. Poll !?
  15. Nope, thats rubbish !
  16. have you tried Pistonheads and Autotrader. You'll get much better money for it there
  17. Welcome, NA does not have four wheel steering. Only the TT does (called Hicas) and its to aid high speed handling (apparently ;)) The Power steering on all zed's (and most modern cars) is Speed sensitive to improve feel so its lighter for parking and heavier at high speed.

  20. but The Delorean in Back to the future was Stainless steel, its closest colour being silver, not grey
  21. Its sits after the decats. You would have to get it welded into the exhaust if you wanted to add it.
  22. We have a Trade Liason officer (TLO)...and an assitant for the TLO , who can be contacted in regards to problems arising from deals.
  23. Sounds lke your new exhaust does'nt have the "H pipe" setup (a balancing pipe that connects both sides of the exhaust between the car and rear silencers) that the stock and most aftermarket systems have, which prevents the 2000-3000rpm drone resonance.
