  1. Paper would get burned up very quickly in your turbos, unlikely to cause any damage.
  2. I presume you or your mechanic mean that your bumper vents were blocked or there was an obstruction (road debris, leaves...etc) in front of your intercooler stopping cold air as you drive passing over the intercooler. In which case then the air exiting your turbochargers would not be cooled sufficiently and the motor would suffer with detonation and that quickly puts a hole in your pistons. Very easy to spot though, would'nt really require investigation, and it would'nt cause any actual damage to the intercooler itself.
  3. Not much bigger than stock. If you want value for money then look out for the godspeed intercoolers on ebay. They are just about the biggest Side Mounts available and are about the same price as those above, although I believe there are supplier issues right now and they are not currently being advertised on ebay.
  4. Blocked with what ?
  5. I'd worry about low speed traction if you go that far though ?
  6. Blimey mate. Well happy death/rebirth day then ! :D
  7. Definatly intend to go on a some sort of Euro road trip with the Slicktop. Enjoyed the one back in 2005, unfortunatly nearly everyone I went with is no longer on here anymore :(
  8. lol Love it (except the colour)
  9. btw one went through my local auction house the other day for 11.5k
  10. There is the usual adjustment on the pedal. There is also the clutch resting point adjuster....but there is also an adjustment on the booster shaft (for want of a better name) where it enters the clutch master cylinder. You only have a few mm of adjustment, but i can make a noticable difference. You have to remove the clutch master cylinder to get to it. The stock cluch system with the excessive 1.5m of clutch piping is a PITA to bleed though. Its well worth ripping it out and having a single Braided Master to slave pipe.
  11. Sorry but they do absolutely nothing for me, but then I've never liked any Vauxhalls. Looks like an omega with a chavvy bodykit to me.
  12. Similar performance to a zed on 1bar boost
  13. it was too easy to make a joke reply :p
  14. Yep, the R200 from the NA and the GTR is 20kg lighter the NA subframe and driveshafts lighter too...I've not weighed the 2 yet though...
  15. LOL....sweating my arse off or not ...I'd love to able to take mine out in this weather
  16. Thats what 414hp goes like :D
  17. The 8 series is a bit of a lardy dinosaur now, although I do like it. i imagine it would cost a fortune to run. The Skyline and Evo would both be more praticle with the nipper, and quicker with better handling a more exciting to drive and cheaper to run.
  18. funny but FFS :headvswal what on earth goes through peoples heads
  19. Was looking at an engine at SWZ thats had the PCV's re-routed, to prevent oil pick-up on tight turns. I believe this is the same setup as Stillen recomends. Basically just moves them to a higher point on the rockercovers. Found a very good write-up on TT.net about it : http://twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=1019112
  20. IIA valve / idle control valve , they often fail/leak, and result in a poor idle
  21. Lower outlet goes to the Rail, upper outlet goes to the tank return
  22. A few pointers - there is plenty more to add, and nothing is conclusive without further tests...but gives you some ideas - 150+ is a good strong engine Getting a bit tired at around 130 A poor dry test, but good wet test would indicate worn rings and/or bore damage. Will often see excess pressure through crankcase such as fumes out of oil filler cap, or pushing dipstick out. A very low figure or zero compression will usually indicate a holed piston. No significant difference between wet and dry, but 2 adjacent bores with low figures can indicate head gasket. WOuld need further investigation to prove though - such as Losing water, overheating, gasses in Cooling system..etc Heads (alloy) can warp Block (iron) can crack
