mph per 1000 rpm in 5th gear?
235/45/17 means the tyre profile is 45% of 235. To retain the same diameter/circumference (or as close as possible) when fitting a 255 tyre, then you would need to fit a 255/40/17 The link Tonyb posted is very handy for working out the correct tyre sizes to fit.

Headlights finally sorted!
Nice one, dont forget to detail the fix in case others have the same problem.

mph per 1000 rpm in 5th gear?
The tyre profile is a percentage of the tyre width . So 45% of 255 results in a bigger sidewall and larger circumference than 45% of 235. You need to lower the tyre profile to correct it. It would with enough power and the larger tyre size you gave....although check the rpm I think I might have put it higher than stock.

Real world zed fault cause`s
Have seen similar results after a washer had been dropped into the lower timing cover and jammed underneath crank idler. Although the belt was even worse than that, shredded into 3 individual belts.

mph per 1000 rpm in 5th gear?
With standard wheels/tyres TT - 26.4 mph NA - 23.9 mph

is it true that????
Its a 4 speed + overdrive. The autobox does'nt need another, Its got gearing for a theoretical 206mph. The best(and only) 5speed conversion is a Manual conversion ;)

Projector light units
They take several seconds to warm up to brightness and being switched on and off severly shotens their lifespan compared to halogens. Which means they are useless for flashing high beam. As far as Im aware no cars come with HID full beam from the factory.

Hi Everyone Newbie here
Welcome. Simplest reasion for Hicas light is low power steering fluid. other reasons : - If its got an aftermarket wheel then it may have been fitted with a non-hicas steering wheel Boss. - Steering wheel is not straight - Its been disconnected inbetween the PAS pot and Hicas solenoid (many disconnect as they prefer it without hicas)

Oh dear! 300zx spotted
The worse problem with doughnuts is oil surge in the Sump moving away from the oil pickup....BANG goes the engine. The worose problem with throwing nails over a car park is one of them flying up as a car tyre spins on it and taking out somebodys eye :nono:

Welcome :) Its an Abflug Type 3 Front Bumper, quite rare in the UK

Nose panel
Yes 2 holes if its an Import. UK cars leave a great big nissan emblem indentation.

A silly question iv always pondered on...
If yours are electric, then as above you, you have tilt and you have seperate raise. Both switches move in 4 directions. Unless you have the manual seats, not electric ? I cant remember how they adjust but nearly all Z's have electric seats.

Fuel issue.
No, Fuel RON can have no affect on idle. it could however be a number of things - Vacumn/boost leak , Missfire (1 or more cylinders not firing from missing spark or fuel), sticking Idle valve. Sounds to me like a missfire, you need to check that all cylinders are firing. Pull of a coilpack connector 1 by 1, if you remove one that does not make a difference then that is the faulty cylinder. Ambient temp sensor has no affect on the the engine running at all. It is connected to the Climate control display for showing outside temperature only. The Water temp sender on top waterpipe does however have an affect on fuelling.

You have 2 ways to raise/lower the seat : seat height up/down Base tilt up/down as well as : Seat position - forwards/backwards Backrest angle - forwards/backwards

Christ the Evo guys hate the 300ZX!
Not at all, Im under no illiusion that a stock 300zx is the fastest thing out there. But...you claim that most hothatches are as quick. Your wrong, its as simple as that. ;)

how long will you have it
I cant see myself ever selling it. If I fancy a new car, I'd change my daily driver, the Z is my toy. I do really fancy having a tasty 240z at some point as a toy, but it would'nt replace the Z32.
