  1. Anyone else experienced this ? I had the same issues with my previous zed when using the popular Castrol RS 10w-60 and I know others did too.
  2. Group buy price is $799 which is a absolute bargain, £550 + shipping and Duty - so probably about £700 to your doorstep. Its a shame the Exhange rate sucks so badly right now :( The GB price on the Race spec is $969 and $1199 for the Ultra-lites.
  3. oh..and Powertrix coilovers are track proven too :
  4. Powertrix have released a new Street Coilover kit that has some very innovative spec and would make a far superior alternative to the Tein Superstreets and Tein flex kits and much better priced too. Price is fantastic, and they are holding a group buy on them at 3zc These look fantastic for a street orientated 300zx that would like the ability to perform well at the occasional track day : For those looking for a more track orientated setup they also offer their coilovers in Race specification and Ultra-Lite Race spec.
  5. Yep should go in sideways with the seats down. Its bloody heavy though. You will want subframe with the hubs and driveshafts on. It will probbaly include all the suspension arms but its only the rear toe arms that are actually different so make sure it has those. You will want the ABS sensors too as I have found a difference between mine, so just to be on the safe side, they should be connected to subframe anyway though. You will also need the rear half of an NA propshaft. The Alternative option is to fit a one piece lightweight propshaft. oh and you will also need a NA gearbox speed sensor, but they are hard to come by. You can instead get just the plastic gear cog for an NA from MJP or Nissan dealer, and swap them over with yours, very cheap.
  6. MJP or Zcentre. The rears around £50 each.
  7. The KYB AGX & Eibach combo is probably the most popular aftermarket setup.
  8. Do not use the stock zed tailgate lifters for the bonnet ! Bonnet weighs less than 5kg, the tailgate weighs over 60kg ! You would barely be able to shut the bonnet and it would smash through the windscreen when you open it  MantaV8, Silverbullet and others have done it and sure they can recommend appropriate lifters.
  9. I can just see all UK Z owners trying to source a 16ftx8ft container to park there zed's in now.
  10. The Pearl yellow seems to fade quite a lot over time compared to other colours, so be sure to get them to match it to the car rather than the code.
  11. Found the link with detailed instructions - http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_images/Disabling_Speed_Alarm.pdf
  12. Yep, the buzzer is behind the clocks. You can unplug it (which will disable all bong chimes for lights on, reversing, doors open..etc). or you follow the green wire that comes out of it till it reaches a bullet connector and only disconnect that instead (and insulate the ends) - that will disable the speed chime only.
  13. Different market needs. America is full of big long and wide open roads, where the cars/trucks can cruise around at near idle all day long, you cant do that in a little 4-pot screaming its nuts off. You might me able to achieve the same peak power output out of a smaller engine, but the way it delivers its power is not comparable. A 4.0 V8 making 300hp has bundles of torque and power from idle and will pull like a steam train. A 2.0 making 300hp has bugger all power across most of its rev range, pathetic torque and all its power in a small range at top the of the revs. Turbo technology helps but there really is no replacement for displacement. The Bigger the engine the more suited it is for heavier vehicles for long distances. Not to mention fuel costs are so comparatively low. That explains the engines anyway...Its just a pity the majority of american cars are complete shite. American cars only work in america, the rest of the world has no need or want for them.
  14. here in the UK anything darker than the lightest possible tint on the drivers and passengers windows is considered illegal.
  15. Some extra negative camber would help. You can dial a little extra over stock to improve handling anyway. What camber are you running si ?
  16. I remember watching them round castle combe, they were some of the quickest cars on the track  Madness, it shouldn't be allowed lol
  17. those little things are often highly tuned
  18. There was a pic from a side angle but I cant find it now
  19. Poor photoshop from another forum : Im sure somebody here could do a better job, I cant be arsed though http://www.bodykits.com/249/261/282/944/945/946/90-96-Nissan-300ZX-GTR-Front-Bumper-Body-Kit-p-87808.html btw - its not a skyline, its a GTR :p
