quad, single or double exhaust
Its all personal preference. Driving a zed with a single exhaust puts more smiles on my face than with a dual exit. While I like the low rev burble of a dual exit its not as impressive as a single exit when your flooring it......I guess it makes it sounds more like a straight 6, like a supra TT on boost (the only thing I like about Supra's is the noise). If I ever fitted a single I'd have to fit a fake exhaust on the other side though :x:

Hi Everyone Newbie here
Should'nt pay more than £50 for a used Bumper. If zedworld dont have any then SWZ parts had quite a few lieing around last time I was there. Not sure how contactably paul@Swz is now though as they are shutting down, but contact details are in traders section. The Fan is viscous and runs permantly. It gets faster as engine temp gets higher. The Thermostat is about 4-6 hours labour to replace, its part of the 60k service and should be changed with cambelt and waterpump.

Paint code?
Its on the Vin Plate on slam panel in engine bay. 3 number/letter code. Standard silver is 673 But if your looking to get some more paint mixed then I would reccomend taking off your Petrol filler cap (2 screws) and taking that in with you to a Paint suppliers, to get them to match it from that (and give them the code too), to ensure perfect match to 18yr old paint.

quad, single or double exhaust
I do love the sound from a quality single exit, just a shame they look shite compared to a Dual or quad system.

Turbos
Is it as soon as you start the car or is it only when driving ? Does the noise change with speed or revs ? Any vibration ? If its when you start the car then its fuel pump, they get noisy before failing. Otherwise were looking at drivetrain - Diff, driveshafts, wheelbearings ..etc

Rb26dett
Yes, more room in engine bay would help with working on them. Which issues ? The Skyline engine bay does'nt suffer with as much heat because of the extra room so wiring and pipeing lasts longer. Nothing to do with the actual engine.

Rb26dett
I'd disagree about reliablity (any reliablity issues residing the 300zx are becuase of external causes - old Wiring, old water hoses..etc and not the engine itself) and yep a VG with the same mods as a RB makes the same power but a lot torque

Adding power only makes you quicker in a straight line, reducing weight makes you quicker everywhere. You can go to far though and start detracting from the cars comfort and appearance, which is something I have done my best to avoid. Other than the loss of aircon (was mostly done to aid cooling though for the track and I never really use aircon in my prev zed's anyway) and the different seats you would be hard pressed to tell by looking over it that it had a lot of weight reduction.

Quite an old one that originally from TT.net, a lot of it is just guesswork though.

How much does it cost to sell on ebay ?
Its all done as a percentage based on product type - Try this http://www.ebaycalculator.co.uk/ Have you tried Autotrader and Pistonheads, far more likely to get the price it deserves that with a bargain hunter on ebay.

Everything was weighed myself as it was removed/replaced. (Except the subframe as was too heavy to check, but I got that figure from others that have weighed it.)

Mine should come in at around 1350kg currently. Which is about 150kg less the original slicktop weight, and about 250kg less than most Z's (or equivalent to 3 big blokes). Front Aircon removed (Pump, Bracket, Radiator, Condenser, pipes, Fan) – 15kg EGR removed – 2kg AIV removed – 3kg Carbon Canister removed – 3kg Lightweight Crank pulley fitted – 4 kg Cruise control removed -1kg Hicas solenoid and piping Removed – 3kg NA Pas Pump and Bracket – 2kg Battery moved to boot – 16kg Lightweight flywheel – 7kg SS Turbo elbows and down pipes – 11kg Fog lights removed – 3kg 70kg loss Centre Lightweight seats fitted – 23kg Lightweight Prop shaft – 7kg 30kg loss Rear Spare wheel removed – 15kg Nissan Tools removed – 2 kg Tailgate weight removed – 2kg Spoiler removed – 7 kg Rear Wiper & Motor removed – 2kg Cargo blind removed – 2kg NA Rear subframe & Diff – 35kg Lightweight Battery fitted in boot + 6kg Rear speakers – 2kg 60kg loss 160kg total loss I've not yet started on the wheels, suspension, brakes, but the wheels although larger will be lighter as will the brakes and most suspension parts. The Cage will add about an extra 20kg though, and there are some Impul skirts waiting to go on. There is'nt really anything else that will have added weight.

What I need to fit gauges
We were typing at same time :) Btw - not seen the oil temp problem myself, but the other placement sounds like a good idea.
-
What I need to fit gauges
They should include : Gauge, wiring, sender For the oil pressure and oil temp gauge you will need an adaptor for fitting inline with the vehicle oil system. The most common of these is an Oil Filter sandwich plate. It fits inbetween the oil filter and the usual oil pickup and has threaded holes for fitting the oil pressure and temp sender. Buy a quality Sandwich plate, not a generic ebay jobbie. For the water temp gauge you can buy inline adaptors that replace part of you rubber upper water pipe, such as : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/34mm-HOSE-ADAPTER-WATER-TEMP-TEMPERATURE-GAUGE-SENSOR_W0QQitemZ350156931092QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item350156931092&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 You cut your top upper waterpipe and put this inbetween. (I cant remember the exact size needed though Im afraid, but Im sure somebody must have recently purchased that will know) If you bought them 2nd hand and did'nt get the senders, then you will need to try and source the new senders from the same manufacturer to ensure compatablity in their readings.
