  1. I should get some glasses really. I wear contact lenses but not owned a pair of glasses for about 10 years. The contacts are in from the minute I get up to just before I get into bed.
  2. Not really. Bad fuel could cause rough running , but not starting problems. Can you hear the fuel pump make a noise from the rear of the car when you turn the ignition on ? (some are noisier than others though, but if its not something you normally hear you should still be able to hear it at the back of the car when somebody turns the ignition on)
  3. Had a look...and Im still right. Those cars that are quicker or comparable are very expensive and rare. On the road your up against Porsches, M3's Skylines, Supra..etc Not Modern Hothatches. Sayings its slow and that most hothatches are as quick is *****x. and Thats not to mention that most Z's are running a simple boost increase that puts them a into higher performance bracket anyway.
  4. Flatter cornering/less lean I would recomend gettin new Antiroll bar drop links and roll bar bushes as well though. Old ones will be knackered. Such as these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-Z32-300zx-Anti-Roll-Bar-Rear-Link-bushes_W0QQitemZ260325720270QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item260325720270&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
  5. pull of one of the coilpacks, connect it to a spare/old spark plug (or remove a plug from engine if you do not have one) , rest it on plenum and try starting engine while somebody checks for spark. If you have spark, then check at least one more on the others as well. If you dont have spark then the most likely culprit is your PTU. Might be lucky and its just the connectors, take them off check for corrosion, clean if necessary. If you do have spark then were looking at fuel of course, can you hear the pump prime, can you hear the injectors click..etc
  6. Headlights with the insides cleaned and HID fitted will put out more than enough light with dipped beam. For high beam just fit some high wattage/super bright bulbs. Do not fit HID for High beam.
  7. Yes. Only the rear is thicker though.
  8. For our next lesson we shall cover operation of the wiper controls.
  9. :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
  10. Yep, although I would also add that quite often the droplinks are seized and can snap when removed so its worth getting hold of a set of complete replacement droplinks rather than just the bushes.
  11. :(:( Twocker Scum, that just dont give a shit for anybodies property. The AE86 is a great little old skool drifter.
  12. Russ was in his 98 Slicktop
  13. I found everything about the GTO to be a right PITA to work on. Taking apart the interior was a right nightmare.
  14. Nothing wrong with buying and selling on ebay, I have done so many many times. However its not the place to value a car correctly.
  15. Doh...:headvswal :slap: dunno what I was thinking then. yes, a Transverse mounted V6
  16. No, completley different cars by different manufactures with no shared parts. The GTO is bigger and heavier and has a straight 6 engine.
  17. Disagree. What hothatches will do 0-60 in 5.5 secs, 0-100 in less than 14 secs ? In fact very few cars sports or high performance cars will do that. and the zed is no heavier than other cars in its class - Skyline, Supra ..etc and other highly regarded sports cars - Porsche 911, Bmw M3 ...etc People also exaggerate how hard they are to work on, and there is only 1 reason to remove the engine that differs from others and thats turbo replacement. and as for being a bottomless money pit....may be the case for many owners, there are a lot of rough abused examples out there that have not been properly maintained, but thats no different if you buy an uncared for example or get unlucky with any car. Mine cost less on maintenance and more reliable than any of my much newer cars.
  18. Ebay is the worst place to value a car. It is for bargain hunters who expect to pay less than the average market value.
  19. The only thing I would bother swapping is the UK Clocks and the rear anti roll bar (only the rear one is thicker) and engine oil cooler. (unless you have aftermarket versions of these already)
  20. Its like that on every car forum - as usual everyone has an opinion without knowing what they are talking about. LMAO @ the bloke who said it was heavy and a pig to work on so recommended the GTO Instead - a car thats much heavier and even more of a pig to work on ! LOL :headvswal
  21. Me too. Then I'd modifiy it
  22. It will be 20-30 yrs before the 300zx would ever be considering geunine classics....in the meantime properly Modified examples do fetch more than standard. You've either not driven an immaculate Zed or not driven a Rough one. The difference between the way they look, go, handle, stop and generally feel is like night and day...unfortunatly far too many are at the rough end of the range. Quite a large proporation of the Z's I have driven would of put me of them for life if I had'nt known what a good example is like.
  23. Using those Universal seat heater kits ?
  24. Seen a picture of one fitted to a car with widearch abflug arches and rear bumper. Aftermarket colour...possibly purple. But I cant find the pics now
  25. The screw is for putting the ECU into diagnostics mode - causes light on dash to flash. Details here :http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html Not heard of Suzukz esprit, but there are loads of tuning houses in Japan, its almost certainly chipped - no other reason to put the sticker on it. Its always best to replace Japan chipped ECU's with a UK remap though as it will be most likely mapped for higher octane fuel than what we have available here. Sounds looks like somebody has adapted a HKS F-CON Skyline R33 GTST version to work with a zed using a Z32 harness. Presumably purchased 2nd hand and then got the Z32 harness to make it work.
