  1. You need the cheapest run of the mill bolts, local hardware store or if you can wait a few days buy bags of say 25 on ebay, certainly you need M6, not sure exactly on other sizes so have a quick look and count up yourself, maybe get some M5's and some M8's as well, probably cost you less than a tenner for the lot as they don't need to be long bolts.
  2. Same seller as the one linked in post 12, only take a few days to come. No 5000k though in H3, choose 4300k it's incredibly similar. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUNWOIF-55W-Car-Single-Hi-Lo-HID-Xenon-Conversion-KIT-H1-H3-H7-H8-H9-H11-H4-UK-/251684667627?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item3a999340eb
  3. Ignore the white wire apart from tidying it up, as you'd expect red goes to your 12v positive side of your sidelights and of course ground the black.
  4. Yep just swap the bulbs colour, not a problem .
  5. I had a 15 plate Merc for a week and it had stop/start, found it a nuisance and turned it off every time I had to get in it which was another PITA. It also had park assist which I did have a go at using but I was way too wary of bumping it or it bumping itself, which is more to the point :scared:. My lads BMW as a slot for the key, I think you've then to push down the brake and the clutch pedal then press the start button - what the heck is all that about [pointless smiley].
  6. In all your threaded holes, nip up some bolts in them, 10mm length ones will do the job. Personally it's a lot of work but when I did mine I flattened it right back and as a consequence this removed the casting marks. You don't need to be totally anal about it either, the throttle cable cover hides the fiddly bits.
  7. You can buy full kits on ebay and from a UK seller for around £16.00. Pair of 5000k bulbs on ebay from the far east, around £6.00. There is no excuse these days for not having spares at this kind of money.
  8. Lose the aircon as Lee suggests and it'll be down at 1600kgs. iirc scales weigh in increments of 20kgs so it could weigh 1631 or to be more anal 1630.01 and it's rounded up, so it could possibly read 1600kgs.
  9. Is it with or without you sat in it, as of course that'll make a tremendous difference !!!!
  10. Goodness me, that looks like it's been taken and practiced on at a local college for young trainees and it was done on their first day of practical !!! Makes me marvel and appreciate at what a quality Alunox system I have fitted to mine :thumbup1:.
  11. The first HID kit I bought was with 6000k bulbs, ever since I've been buying 5000k but very recently I bought 4300k ones and as Simon points out output is very similar and the best between the two, colour also the desired. I just wonder Si, if you just haven't found the right aftermarket white bulbs or set up. It is only very recently I got the ones linked below and I use these for my front corner side lights and is the same I use for the reverse lights and to be honest many I have used, led, or smd before have been a bit weedy !! Get what you pay for I guess, chamber needs to be right and bulb holder therefore, then the indicator part as got to be considered. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CREE-LED-1156-BA15S-12SMD-5630-Super-Bright-White-Tail-Turn-Head-Car-Light-Bulb-/271720092237?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f43c7924d
  12. Been working on 2 x sets of these for people both have been done identical. I have fitted amber/white switchback tube lights before on these carmad 99 inserts but this is different again, perhaps it's usp is the fact there is stealth amber indication in there, not visible at all when off, in fact I think I've retained the factory look. The amber light can be used to supplement another amber signal on the front or stand alone or not used at all, on the vid I have tried to mimic signalling !! The halo 12v smd ring.......for the first time I used a clear diffuser in front of it. Later on in the vid I powered up the 5000k HID bulbs, hope you like :thumbup1:. 13. That sounds good but for what extra it was I'd of been inclined to go for the stainless, match then the back boxes and still for less than you were initially thinking of paying :thumbup1:.
  14. Indeed. As I said, about 3 years ago I fit the amber ones as they came in the packet like you have done but having the rears, wing and front indicators all changed to yellow led I had to change the amber ones in the mirrors. The led 'board' just pulls out of them if you make a little slot, you will also find the soft rubber will discolor to the elements in time, when I re did mine I used new ones, my advise would be buy some more identical of course to sit on the shelf, you can then freshen them up with them in a couple of years time.
  15. I have a MX5 and this was awful at start up for smoking, diagnosed it as valve stem seals as after a few mins the smoke cleared. So this may not help you personally but I put some Forte seal conditioner in and the smoking stopped completely, recommended stuff.
  16. Fog light and brake light are the same brightness so anything like that is fine for both. Strictly speaking though both need to be solid lights and not flash, you could argue this is dated legislation with the onset of led this and that fitted these days, my 3rd brake light using red smd bulbs, is wired so it flashes roughly 4 times real quick, when the brakes are applied and then goes solid, don't think a tester or the the plod are going to be concerned about this happening :sneaky2:.
  17. Nice one but such a copycat, haha !! Mine aren't amber anymore, I changed them to yellow to match all my other indicators :thumbup1:.
  18. Very nice Lee, you sound much happier, wouldn't put 240v through the halos for long though ;).
  19. Get a stanley blade in one of those scraper things and tease it under but get it incredibly flat with the surface. If you aint got one of those things, going to have to be my old favourite again....petrol dabbed on and hope it loosens them.
  20. Some sort of solvent Lee in a tub with a paint brush, petrol would be my choice, rinse off well and then some tyre wall black .
  21. True OCD would be the removal of those threaded bolts.......c'mon Lee if you're going to do a job, do it properly .
  22. When taken apart the LCD display is green but with the smoked cover on top it goes white, all of my interior is either red or blue. Made it blue .
  23. Well UK customs will add all that up to £520, expect to pay at least £100 is my guess. That's about what I have just spent from the USA but the seller kindly declared the value as $80, some duty/vat to pay yes but it wont hurt no where near as much :cool3:.
  24. I like the bonnet struts Great Mondo, Mark Derby has some and I perused them at great length at JAE a couple of years ago, I thought they were a great bit of kit. Your battery although clearly fits is the wrong one which is interesting, as when I went to see coopd's car a couple of weeks ago, he had the very same halfords battery and he proceeded to inform me that it is the one stated in their books/database for the 300ZX, wonder if the same as happened to you or the cars owner at the time.
  25. The Godspeed turbos GSP600's I bought way back around 2010, they sat on my shelf perhaps a year whilst I accumulated supporting mods, intercoolers, injectors, clutch, radiator, etc, all with the healthy stock internals. All then fit and I ended up with 504rwhp but always and on the dyno with Noz I got excessive smoke, in hindsight the GSP's should of been balanced before fitting, they soon failed this is now obvious, I know now that these turbos do come with proof of balancing. Now the next upgrade/course of action would be a total re build and this is why I update today as ever since last September this as been in the making, I purchased some forged Wossner stock size 87mm pistons, eagle rods, acl bearings, etc, drove to Lee Dents in April and we pulled the engine out and stripped it down together. The turbos were taken to be reconditioned, fooked basically was the diagnosis, I have bought the same again but although they will be brand new, this time they will be balanced/overhauled first. A week or so ago Lee sent me a few pics, originally way back I got some ebay stainless manifolds, waste of money, and I think these cracked pretty early on after fitting, we live and learn and they are thrown, stock reliable manifolds you can see now fitted . Also my a/c as never worked in over 5 years, even after recharging, this as now been deleted and all the heavy gubbins that goes with it thrown away. And finally nearing the journey's end, just waiting on the turbos to strap onto it, once they're done Lee will give me a shout and I'll go down and hinder it's re fitting :).
