  1. And my Turbos are back. 3 day turn around for them to be rebuilt and sent back.
  2. Turbos on there way back to me from Midland and I'm nearly £400 lighter.
  3. Why not make the AGM an online video conference. I'm happy to host the system to do it.
  4. Going to order new pistons and rods so going up a notch isnt that bad. The current pistons i'm going to write off or sell to anyone who wants them cheap.
  5. yes, already ordered a full oem gasket set from conceptz
  6. Found a local engine place i can take it to get the block properly checked. I'll see if i can get a price for a complete clean, cylinder bore and paint job.
  7. Yeh, sorry, that was more like my dream. ?
  8. Just standard
  9. So just out in the garage with my new honing tool and just as i go to do this cylinder i notice these huge scores. I'm guessing i either need to get a new block or get these professionally done larger then get pistons to match. Whats everyone thoughts ? The grooves that are clearly visible can be felt with my nail as i rub them across the surface.
  10. Just cleaned the block myself and degreased everything. New honing tool arrived so i'll give the cylinders a scrape shortly too.
  11. Nothing new done today but i bit of news from Midland Turbos who now have my turbos. They are rebuilding them again at a cost of £185 per turbo with new bearings and then a re balancing. Also just dropped a £1K order into conceptz to start my engine build off in a few weeks.
  12. I'll send the turbos down to Midland again to be sure.
  13. I was thinking about that, get it shot blasted too as there is a fair amount of surface rust on the bottom.
  14. Gone is the silver paint to reveal a few rust spots on the sump. Need to get a wire brush to this now then give it a coat of black.
  15. Next job was to strip the oil pan as it was also caked in silver paint.
  16. Cant believe how long this took me and i used a combination of gunk de-greaser, wd40 and brake cleaner. Extra luck that the de-greaser was strong enough to strip paint too so all the silver that was only the block came off. When everything was dry again i used high temperature paint to coat the sides of the block and top to make it look new.
  17. Block now stripped again and de-greased. Also stripped off all that nasty silver paint which was like a layer cake.
  18. The cranks only back in to protect it. Things have a habit of breaking or falling off shelves in my house. At the moment the crank is back out and I've stripped the paint off and degreased everything. Just need to hoan out the cylinders when the tool arrives to do it. Update shortly.
  19. They were rebuilt by midland turbos and not me. I simply dismantled them to clean the oil ways and reassemble afterwards.
  20. So i want to clean my block properly as i want to be 100% sure that there is no contamination inside. What i know and wont do is the obvious method you see all over youtube with people using a jetty and hosing it down. Trying to do this DIY as much as possible for the moment. Below is a quick video of the block, i'd like to strip off all the silver paint and degrease the full thing. Whats the best solution without the chances of using the block by using water. As you can see the crank is turning nice and smooth at the moment and i really dont want to upset that.
  21. The site is mobile friendly now. Lots of members have ditched tapatalk over the new theme as everything now shows. Give it a try.
  22. Click classifieds on top toolbar. Your likely seeing the old archived system.
  23. I didnt this time as they were done not that long ago and i ensured everything was put back together the way it was. This rebuild was more so to clean everything and ensure no nasty metal particles were inside.
