  1. Next issue is for the left bank, as the instructions and pipe work are designed for the USA market and such do not take into account the stock oil pressure sensor. I know need to work out how to adapt the pipe from the two different threads. below is part of the stock oil line that feeds the turbos, on the right is the new hose i need to adapt to. I had an idea to use this connection but the oil feed bolts thread is too long so it will never tighten.
  2. 3 hours to install the first turbo ☹️ After figuring out how to install the water and oil feed pipes i discovered (only after spending 30 minutes doing the bolts) that the actuator falls foul of the oil tree and the oil feed connector block. Back off they came and grinded some of the oil tree in hopes it clears it when its on. Very close But i think that will do.
  3. Nearly impossible to torque down the bolts for these AMS manifolds. You can only get into two of the bolts with a wrench, the others are on as tight as i can get without rounding the nuts.
  4. Had to wait a day or so for the new silicon gasket to show up. But now its arrived I've got the cam covers back on and sealed up.
  5. Starting to look like a long lost engine i own.
  6. Timing belt now done properly and tensioner set to 4mm.
  7. Engine Assembly time. Managed to get the heads back on, all the lifters and cams torqued down again, then fitted the cam gears and went to do the belt. Not as easy as i remember it a few years ago so had dificulty getting the marks to line up with the crank pulley at the bottom. I'm guessing the sprocket is slightly out so i'll try again tomorrow, but need to find some clamps to keep the top done.
  8. New thread for ideas and designs :
  9. Hi, This is something we havent looked at for a while but wondering how many people would like us to bring the store back. I would likely have to run this myself and will try to do it as cheaply as possible. Items that would be in it can be hoodies, caps, shirts, lanyards, pens, mugs and so on.
  10. Had enough of these aftermarket lifters. Now that I can't confirm the make I'll stick with the original oem ones.
  11. I had a receipt for both in the paperwork, but now I'm not so sure on the lifters. They are definitely aftermarket compared to what I have already.
  12. Yeh, Done that with standard oem lifters before. These are jwt and don't seem to come apart that easy.
  13. Still have an issue with my lifters. 2 days soaked in Diesel has fixed only a few of them and the rest seem to have the valve stuck open.
  14. Few pics of the test pipes that arrived.
  15. Spongy lifters and i need these to be solid before the engine rebuild so stuck them in Diesel. Hopefully that will free them up, few days should dissolve all the crap.
  16. New head gaskets, down pipes and exhaust parts. Just need to sort my lifters and put it all together.
  17. New head gaskets and a few other exciting parts ordered from ConceptZ Should all be here next Tuesday, exciting stuff.
  18. Nice, Painted my block very similar and replaced all the freeze plugs too. I remember it being a fun game trying to remove them after knocking them inside the block.
  19. They can be rebuilt, but not the easiest to dismantle them. When they stay spongy even after pumped in oil the valve inside is stuck and they are working on the spring action only rather than oil.
  20. Working on the new build heads today, I removed the old springs and lifters then fitted the JWT springs and lifters then I planned to put the new cams in too but discovered all the lifters are spongy. After dipping them in oil and compressing the pistons on them a few times all the air quickly came out, However many of them, likely 10 are still spongy so not sure what to do at this point.
  21. I have a 96 too and when i took the pump out a few years back it was like new in there so surprised by its deterioration. Solder joints are likely fine as long as there is no damage to the cables but a reflow wouldn't harm it. Fuel pump ECU is behind the passenger side back seats, have you checked that, a spare would cost about £36 from Banzai breakers on ebay.
  22. Stripped down two engines today to the block to transplant a set of higher rated cams, springs and lifters.
