  1. First time round i never added a one way valve and found the clutch and brake fighting with the vacuum ! Soon as I added a valve all was fine !
  2. Great - Just bought this one as its nice and shiny !!
  3. Bling - I like bling !!
  4. Bought this from ebay at Jeffs suggestion but its not supplied with clips ! its fairly stirdy as is; as the hoses push it in tight but is there any brackets that can be bought to fully support the top end of the radiator ?
  5. Just done a manual conversion and i didn't want to replace my shiny auto balance bar for one of the manual ones so a bit of inunuity I came up with this ! Basically i split the break vacuum hose and put on a one way valve, can anybody tell me if this is ok to do it this way before i drive it home ! Clutch seems to work ok and breaks are ok too but just need another confirmation thats its ok.
  6. Looks like joining the plug near the gearbox does the trick too then.
  7. I had three separate guides all printed out just in case when doing it all. One thing that confused me is in them all it says to bypass the starter relay or something in the drivers wing, I skipped that bit and she starts without any issues. I did cut off the inhibitor plug near the gearbox end and join them together if that's gives the same solution, I found so many ways to wire up the electrics I just picked out the ones I thought were best and easiest to do and it worked so I'm chuffed at that.
  8. Don't even have enough fuel in the normal bug either! Am el skinto ma ginto !
  9. Cool, this is the first conversion I've done and most of it myself so fairly pleased with my results.
  10. Just spent my last pennies on my manual conversion! Got it all going today but I've still no interior as yet and won't have time to fit it by then.
  11. On the gear box I cut off the neutral switch plug as I don't have the other side as such, Rather than run two cables up to the ecu i ground one of the two wires at the gearbox side and ran one cable back to the ecu, so I guess that's the same effect as its still ground. All I need is to find that pin in the ecu, any ideas what colour it is ?
  12. Well I've only drove it five meters forward then back again ! But I agree there is a def buzz you get even from doing that. One thing I've still to wire in properly is the neutral switch into the ecu, I've made a custom loom that goes from the gearbox up to the ecu but I've not found any real guides that shows exactly how to do it!
  13. Update ! Gearbox conversion is now complete ! One note is that I had to put in an extra no return valve inline going to the clutch booster as when putting your foot on the break and clutch at the same time you could feel them fighting each other ie foot harder in break and the clutch pedal gets pushed up. Never managed to fit the oil cooler as looking at the pipes it looks fairly complicated to get into and my booked garage time was running out so we skipped that one for now, but if anyone had changed to an uprated cooler and can show me how or give some pointers that could help when I finally attempt it again. Apart from a wee clutch bleed issue the conversion has went well so far !
  14. I am about 80% through my conversion but never thought about how to fill the damn thing back up.... Can anybody post a pic of the fill port?? Cheers
  15. Can the gear box be refilled without removal??
  16. getting my auto to manual conversion started on Monday so I thought i'd get started on the centre console bits, found a nice leather set on flee bay and gave a go of fitting it today Also got a new plastic surround for the front bit of the assembly as I managed to break the clips on my last one.
  17. Mind these are later series zeds! The cable in the loom has more connections than the standard series 2, I think the three extra yellow cables are some sort of emobilizer for the door locks. Dels still got his breaker so maybe he can take a pic of the door card so we can see !
  18. Right, Had a wee visit over to zhoodyx's today and his door loom had the same extra cables ! He also noted that he thinks there's an extra relay in the door! Now can anyone get me a close up shot of this extra module so I can bypass it ?
  19. Right, an update on this ! Took a pic of both loom connections, the one on the left is the original loom and the one on the right is the new loom i've installed ! Spot the differance ?? 1 cable in the loom has moved and theres also 2 extra all at the far left side. Purely on a guessing factor i think the white is the power thats missing stopping my locks working. As a test i moved the white cable back to the position it was ment to be in on the old loom but no luck. On the diagram provided by groover there seems to be a anti theft device that i dont have which in the diagram the cables are yellow. Now believing that the yellow wires act more like relay do you think its safe to connect them both together to override its function. I haven't done it yet as i don't want any voltage going places it shouldn't be and blowing something more important up. What you all think ?
  20. yip, did that too. Mind i did a full loom swap so that i could adapt auto aircon into a series 4, i've checked the plugs both sides and there a tight connection with no damaged parts. I might have to take a closer at the two looms again and see if the wires do fully match; although i cant see why they would change the wiring order.
  21. seen that, is there anyway to test it; say by unplugging then manually aplying power. even better; anyone know a wiring diagram of the door loom?
  22. Looks like my central locking has decided to stop working ! When you lock the drivers side door the passenger side doesn't lock. I've just completed a loom switch for the full front end of inside when i done my aircon conversion but i've match up what i think are the cables and both the old and new loom look identical. Is there any relays anywhere that control the doors?
  23. Happy Birthday Buddy !!
