Plan to buy a another zed with a proven shell and engine so will likely sell it on. It was stripped and rebuilt not that long ago so doubt it would be anything serious.

Keeps my mind occupied with something new. may never know about the oil pressure to be honest , I had an after market oil cooler and a sandwich plate for gauges so airlock or some kind of blockage.

Going with the flow with the Phoenix i'm thinking of getting one air brushed onto the rear quarter where the last zed was hit. Below is the graphic I've came up with and also an idea of where I would like it. Anyone have any experience with airbrushing or know any professionals that can do something like this ?

In Greek mythology, a phoenix or phenix (Greek: φοῖνιξ phoinix) is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. So from the ashes or parts of Purple Rain she will be reborn ! May the new build thread begin.

Hi guys, Sorry I couldn't be on site with you for setup and the rest of the weekend. But looking at the new plot I've decided and have arranged for a care package to be delivered on my behalf for setup. So look out for a special friend of mine called Mark who will be dropping by tomorrow morning with the two national banners which we should have on setup day. They come with wheel stands so your going to have to push your zeds over them to keep them upright. Within a week I will know what my plans are for next year and i'll be onsite with what i'm now calling my 'MarkII' zed. All the best and have a great weekend. Lee

sad news from Lee :-( but damn lucky too
Then if they do put it back on the road it will likely have a permanent mark on its history as a right off. I likely wouldn't trust it myself so I hope the insurers agree and give me what's due.

My assessment of it for repair would need the following : full rear quarter rear sill door (if we can get it off as its jammed shut with the impact) right wing side skirt 19" alloys and tyres rear suspension looks damaged back axle and everything connected to it looks twisted and the far left wheel has moved out a 1/2 inch. then the cost of another respray of which is almost 1/2 of the car which initially cost me £2500

sad news from Lee :-( but damn lucky too
Hi all, Many thanks for the condolences on my zed as I feel she as just died and I've lost part of my family and soul. I am so damn lucky that I wasn't in the zed in the first place. The incident happened at just after 5am this morning when I noticed I have very low oil pressure, both the stock guage and my aftermarket guage both dropped down to practically zero so I quickly pulled over. It was then I noticed that she wouldn't start although she seems to crank over ok. I'm covered by the RAC so I called them straight away and got out my zed and started to walk down the grass verge so that I could identify a road side marker so that the rac could locate me. After 15 minutes of walking we figured out where I was on the m74 and I turned around and began my walk back. When I approached the location on the hard shoulder I noticed a HGV parked up with his hazards on and a man came over who barely spoke English and asked if I was ok. Believing this was a friendly van driver stopping to ensure I was ok I never thought anything of it and said i'm fine as i'm covered by the RAC. At this point he returned to his van and headed off. It was then I noticed that another smaller van also just parked up near my zed and another man approached me. He then stated that he just witnessed the first guy trash my zed and then drive off and after that we followed in a chase. It took a few miles to catch up but we identified him and managed to pull his ass over then we called the police. I'm feeling gutted over whats happened as I've worked on this build for over two years but i'm guessing the emotions havn't hit base yet as i'm not as upset as I should be. The plan now is to get the insurance see if I can buy back whats left and buy a new shell and move on. Glad I had the sense to get out my zed as I did rather than just use my phones gps which I never even thought about.
