zed on ebay at £23k
to be honest why would you want to change the engine and brake set up, change the body to your own tastes by all means, but leave the plant alone, the same as what happens with a modded skyline / s14 / s15 anyway, so no real difference. personally id stick the look back to stock so it was a sleeper (except them wheels yummy)

zed on ebay at £23k
im well aware of whos motor it is, and i have to say if i had the cash id buy the bugger to stop it getting split into bits and sold separately, there are only a handful of cars built to that spec and almost all of them are in the US, if there was ever a car that could raise the profile of the 300zx in this country it could be that car. But he is unsubbed and rules are rules, hell even being a mod i had to pull my own for sale thread when i was thinking of splitting my blue zed. its nothing against max, just the rules bud.

zed on ebay at £23k
Sorry guys, as the owner is a regi, had to remove the link and change title as regi's not allowed to sell on the forum, i have how ever left it so people can go search for it so its not a direct sale from here. Really hope he sells it at that price, but feel his ad should have at least a dyno sheet.

Compression test diagnostics and advice
ive always taken it out seperatly, the top bolts on the gear box are not that hard to get to, you do need extentions, but with a trolly jack at the rear of the gearbox, undo the 6 x bolts holding the box to the car, start lowering the gearbox and it will pull on the engine leaning it back far enough to get 10" + 3 x 3" extentions onto the top bolts. very quick and easy to do. Reason ive never taken the gearbox out with the engine is due to space. ive asked and asked on here at what hight i need to raise the car in order to drop the sub frame, but then found as im using axel stands, the subframe sits on them so id have to raise the car off the subframe instead. due to being on my own, never liked that idea. so just split the box from the engine and pulled the engine out. also if you do not need to work on the gearbox, you can basically leave it where it is with some wood and a trolly jack, work on the engine, or swap it and when you stick the engine back in, the gearbox just needs pushing back onto the engine. Never had to worry about dropping the subframe or undoing the steering joint then.

in that case then, hit ebay bud, you will only need a 500kg for the zed, but always a good idea to go for a 2ton, covers everything then lol

pcv valves
called a block test, you can buy the kit from ebay, consists of a bottle of tester fluid, a tube with rubber cone on one end and a squeezy pump on the other. Best thing to do is check the rad level when cold if its low enough, start the engine with the rad cap off, let the car come up to temp, get your fluid and fill the glass tube to the mark, stick the cone end into the rad filler hole (on the zed you need to clamp off the over flow tube) and pump the squeezy at the top for around a min, if the fluid in the tube stays blue, no leak, if the fluid in the tube goes yellow, then you have exhaust gases getting into the system and your head gasket could be at fault. Only thing i will say is though, if you have gases escaping into the coolant system, you will usually have over heating along with it. Is the white smoke only on start up? could just be condensation, if you are getting loads of white smoke, lumpy rough idle, over heating then id say head gasket. Block test http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLOCK-TESTER-KIT-GASKETS-CYLINDER-HEADS-BT500-/160684455155?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item25698a34f3#ht_981wt_952

Compression test diagnostics and advice
if you know how long your going to use one for, hire it for a weekend, should be able to get the engine out with in a day even if your new to it. you have my number i can talk you through it so no issue there, hiring a hoist is what ive done on 3 occasions and the cheaper option than buying it. cost me here £30 to £40 for the weekend, that was friday to monday. so plenty of time to do what i needed to get done.

Hatch stuck shut
can you get into the boot from the cabin, undo the two plastic clips holding the back centre section, think you might have to snap the plastic around the latch though but you should be then able to get to the mech to open the boot lid.

Baby seats that fit in a zed
i have a maxi cosy and one that was supposedly made for the zed, its got a bit under it that flips over and fits snuggley into the bucket seat. Handy if you have japspec car though to change the rear seat belts for the UK spec, they bolt right in, only thing you need to change is the rear quarter panel in the back and cut a whole for the top seat belt bolt. though need to up grade soon as my daughter is getting to big and old to have a securing seat.

safety boost
if you have a healthy engine ok matey, as long as you have supporting mods, mine was running 16psi with a greddy ecu, HKS cone filter, decatted and divorced waist gates with mongoose exhaust. engine mods and turbos unknown but believed to be standard, was fecking quick though
-
broken windscreen
i would but unless you bring the car to Northampton lol not sure they will travel that far as the company i used was local

safety boost
7psi safety boost, 9psi normal, 14psi loads of fun, 16psi holding on for dear life

safety boost
im pretty sure autobox error can, as i have lock up solenoid failed on my auto box (even though its working?) and im on safety boost with no other codes on the engine, just the autobox showing the code even when wiped it comes back and sticks me back in safety boost bloody thing. though at least its protecting me engine and turbos a bit i suppose.

My new ride
if i won the lottery and i saw it for sale else where id quite happily pay the price this deserves to stop it getting split, trust me on that.

My new ride
my fav is the 512TR its like the refined rosser and looks fantastic. in fact that the F355 spyder and the 308GT are my favs of all time in the Ferrari range. other wise it would have to be a lambo still lol 308GT first on the list out of all of them though lol

broken windscreen
the guy obviously didnt want to do the work as that is the biggest load of cobblers ive heard, when i had my windscreen replace all they did when they see the rust was advice me that it may not seal and that "eventually" ill need to get that looked at, made me sign a disclaimer about them telling me it may leak and did the job, it never leaked and annoyingly the windscreen that only saw 4 miles on the road got crushed with the shell when it went to the big scrap yard in the sky. How much dosh you got to play with? mine cost £219 fitted with vat by a independent windscreen repair specialist near me, MUCH cheaper than auto glass, even if you are going through your insurance it still might be worth getting it done independently from them
