  1. ive been fitting led reverse lights today .firstly fitted them into centre panel all nice and neat . then gave them a test on the bench (kitchen worktop ) connected up to car battery charger and they light up a treat . took down and fitted to the car and checked for live feed and earth . using the green and black wires that connect to original reverse lights . select reverse with ignition on and getting a good circiut until i connect to the new lights and nothing . now the lives are going where they should and good earths but no light . has anybody got any ideas what im missing here . its so straight forward yet im completely stumped why the lights work fine on 12volts in the house but not in the bloody zed
  2. so so much easier with the exhaust off . i did mine with the zorst still on . what a PITA
  3. ive just opened up a spare switch and agreed it looks a very difficult one to do .
  4. hello gra . have you ever tried illuminating the cruise control switches on the steering wheel . seems daft that they dont light up . i know you have modded other bits to light up . just wondered whether you,d ever had a go at these andy
  5. definately sounds like it needs a bleed . valve on the left hand side of rad as groover said best done with front end raised .
  6. do a search ian on the ozzy site . theres a good write up with pics showing the same job on a z31 or it might be the earlier 32
  7. no mate not the stroke stopper the other inner socket on the other side of the power cylinder . like undoing a bike wheel . the stroke stopper will stay put due to the lock nut . just check the gap between the stroke stopper and the lock nut with a feeler guage incase it moves . should be about 2mm iirc . i cant remember now if its a 30 or 32 mm
  8. i changed mine a while back . on mine the inner socket was worn and that was where all the play was . its bloody difficult getting spanners onto the nut marked inner socket in the green section but you have to lock up one side to undo the other . wedge a spanner on inner socket one side and undo the inner socket the other side . there is very little room to turn the spanners so it takes quite a while . as jeff said you wont lose any fluid but knuckle skin loss is a definate . make sure you mark the threads with a bit of tipex or tape so you know where to tighten them back up too
  9. only a guess daz but could it be a problem with the ballasts on the hid,s . good luck with it anyhow mate . bet its only something simple though but still a real head do-er
  10. i had a similar thing when the bottom pulley failed . the bearing collapsed and it seezed . have a look at the small bottom pulley by the power steering pump
  11. its the auxillary fan . kicks in on high engine temp . keep it there as a safe guard .

  15. the standard suspension is good . i have a set of standard rear struts with only 1000 miles on them if you are interested
  16. food for thought there chris but ideally would like to get a new plastic cover to keep it looking stock . surely nissan stuck these lenses on another model . bit like the chrome door handles on the terrano .
  17. does anybody know whether nissan used this design light lens on any of its other models . mine has the usual burnt brown spot in the middle . just wondered if anyone has found a usable replacement from another car. cheers andy
