  1. As far as I know it's only the drivers door on most cars that locks all... (well old cars anyway, as they seem to be the only ones I own.. lol)
  2. lol... doesn't anyone use the right place to post anymore? :tt2: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?23-Was-it-you
  3. LOL.. there is nothing better!!!! or even as good...
  4. As far as I know the prop shaft replacement is a quick job.... but best/easiest if you have the car up on a ramp/hoist and as part of the deal the your old one has to go back to them. I can't remember the price for the shaft but it was well worth it.
  5. yeah, I remember that... something about extending the pipe for the rear outlet, it was after a load of welding to fix the rust.. but can't remember who it was....
  6. Hi, fitting the HID ballast is a bit of a mess but if you remove the headlights it can be tucked under the assembly.. (so I've been told, but I haven't done it so can't can't confirm) this is a guide to removal... http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.346 once the headlights are removed it makes it real easy to replace the high beams (with new ones),(tricky with the units in place). here is a guide for headlight disassembly to clean the inside and replace any broken cogs (critical for adjustment with HID's) http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_images/H-L_Disassembly.pdf
  7. Hi, just in case you didn't find out by now, the "diag switch" is used the turn the ECU to diagnostic mode, it will blink any error codes the car has (or 55 if all is ok) as far as the ecu is concerned. there are posts in the TECH section about codes and how to do the check.
  8. if its the turbos then oil in the pipe leading to the TB's would be a good indication .... however not having oil there isn't a certainty that its not the turbos. I'm still trying to find Jimmer's guid to burnt oil... (as someone suggested)
  9. Yeah, like Andy says it's not really obd... but I know what you meant... no there is no extension as such, I just got a load of wire, cut the connector off and then wired it back up but longer. I soldered the block on to the extension but used block connectors back up under the dash as it would be a real pain to solder in that location.
  10. have a look here.... http://z32.wikispaces.com/EGR+Removal
  11. right so you say you changed the ECU for a new one. the new one also has a chip that is set for the new injectors? you've checked all the fuses (three fuse boxes) and all connectors?
  12. what kind of standard maintenance do you do? when was it's last full service? what did you replace? when did you check all the connectors for corrosion or good contact? when did you replace the plugs and what with? had the fuel pressure been checked? and or do you have any leaks in the fuel rail? batter charge, is it holding well? have you tried a fuel additive cleaner and has it been for a good run up the motor way?
  13. you can get an ODB to usb (via a serial) and you might even be able to get one straight to USB..... so you could then put a Bluetooth dongle on it. sounds like a right pain... lol.. I extended my connection and it now lives in the glove box, so it's now close to where I have the laptop.
  14. cheers.. :) Running 530BB's not sure if they can be rebuilt.
  15. Hi, Ok, getting blue smoke out of ONE SIDE (only so far) of the exhaust (tt). I know its not a good sign and looking at diagnosing the problem. It’s ok on start up but after a minute or so it starts to smoke, just a bit and then stops, if I rev it a bit (obviously not a lot) it’s quite evident there is blue smoke coming out. When driving it only comes out sometimes, just a slow amble and seems ok but only need to put my foot down a little and puffs of smoke some out. If I put my foot down there doesn’t seem to be much or any but then again when driving normally it comes back. I only recently changed the PCV’s (9 months back) so I don’t think its them. I’ve been running 5W40 (up to a shot time ago) but never had this much smoke. I’m going to pull the TB pipe off to see if it’s oily (from a possible turbo issue). It would be the valve stem seals but how would I check that? It could also be the rings but again how would I check that? So, what else could it be? Cheers.
  16. the only way would be to Dremel it out and refit with a clear type one (if that's the look you're after)
  17. LOL.. I agree with your wife it's no where near are bad if the car goes up in flames.... :) where do they belong... in a bucket of water.... and if you want the holder I can try and get it off my car if you like...
  18. mate, if you really want one go for it.... but... just as you don't seem to be getting put off by the bad reports also don't be too sure of the good reports as specific examples mean stuff all.... go an join the supra forum and check out their section on buying one and also the issues they tend to get. if you a re really luck you might get a gem..... BUT there is a much greater change you'll get a lemon that needs lots of work.. (that is why people sell them). I sold mine when I got my 300... and that was after owning an NA as well as the turbo... both had BHG (yeah strange for an NA) and riddled with rust... look out for rust around the tailgate rubber... the MK3 is notorious for leaking water in the boot.
  19. you could be right.... check the connections to it, easy to get to in the spare wheel well, just undo the round plate.... a fuel pressure check would be a good test and also if you could do it when in motion... there are a few issues that can happen around the fuel system. leaks bad fuel ecu bad pressure regulators and of course the pump you could also be in safety boost, check for error codes... I'm sure there are a few pumps available on here (I have a spare working one) but check if that is the problem first. the other option is a new after market one but make sure you get the right one as the 300 has a pretty gone one to start with. if you want (and you're prepared to pay for postage) I can send you my spare one to test, if it fixes the problem you can pay me for it other wise send it back to me.
  20. Agreed.... http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.221 and http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.337
  21. yeah, agreed, the outer arch rust is an indication of much worse on the inner arch.... make sure you stick a screwdriver up there to test or get the interior panels out and look to see if its gone though.... once the rot gets in there its a major job... my genuine advise would be to get the Zed to Jeff (on the back of a truck or whatever) and spend the money on it.... don't waste any more money on a potentially bigger problem. My personal opinion is that the Zed is better than the Mk3 in every way!!! I'd never go back!!
  22. just a thought, make sure you check the earth in behind the stereo on the hump, the screw can come loose and that stops the aerial working.
  23. Ah, right.... we have at least one other member (Silverline) on here as well, jumped ship... lol... i still pop on there every now and then.. still see a lot of the old crowd on there... also still got a few bits that I keep trying to get rid of..
  24. yeah, I've had 2 of them (an NA and a turbo), loved them both but what a pile of junk!!!! the 7M was designed by school kids... lol... lots of rust in nasty places. if it's just for a project and you don't mind spending loads of money go for it!!! however, easy to work on.... I'd go for the 1JZ engine (but rare already in the car), you can get real power out of it or do a 2JZ conversion. i was a member on he4re for years.... (also the US and Oz sits). http://www.mkiiisupra.net
  25. cheers, already did a PM to him about price, colour and availability.... will get a full set later. the AA guy did atop job at getting me going at the side of the road and today some parts came from ebay and I replaced the broken hose.... when all the threads on doing this job with engine still in the car said that it would take a few hours and cost lots of skin I thought it was a bit on an exaggeration...... WELL, HOW WRONG WAS I.... lol.... I don't think I'e ever been so glad to finish a job on the Zed.... really looking forward to doing both the back ones and the two little ones at the front... NOT!!!!! however I have a strange feeling that it might be easer to do them both at the same time (not that I think easier is the right word) :)
