  1. Fuel pump Fuel pump ecu Fuel pressure regulator IAA (the idle control value at rear of the engine near the battery) it could be sticking when cold... MAF or PTU... and the list goes on...... I would check all connections to make sure that non are corroded and all are seated well. do the usual checks, tps voltage, timing, clean MAF. the IAA can be taken off and cleaned... or just spray some WD40 in it... see if that fixes it.. http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.335 go from there....
  2. just had the exact same failure on mine last night.... managed to get the AA out and did a bit of a Franken-fix on it with a couple of other size hoses the guy had and a bit of 15mm copper pipe.... will be looking at alternatives for the permanent fix.
  3. Right, so you have checked the TPS with a volt metre (I assume). I can send you my spare one for you to test (you can then send it back to me if it's not the fault). The O2 that is fluctuating is fine but the other one seems to have an issue.. try unplugging it (and check the connections again)... this may be of interest.. http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.296 AAI should be at about 15% at temp (20 isn't too bad) but it "will" move about, because it controls idle... so it don't think that is a problem but the cast that it's slow might be. Have you taken it off and cleaned it? (there is a write up on how to do that). I also have a couple of spares and could send you one along with an O2 sensor. (I understand that they are a bit hard to change http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_images/Replacing%20Oxygen%20Sensors.pdf ). If you're happy to pay for postage and then we can sort out whatever you want if the new part works.
  4. Simples!!!! If you don't feel your up to the task then don't drive it in the wet. :tongue_smilie: If you can't afford to have a car just sitting there for the dry times, them don't get one (or if you already have one, sell it). your talking about 20 year old Jap technology... I drive mine every day (wet/dry/snow) and I got mine because I love the Zed... :punk: I personally don't give a %&£$ about anything else..... :):):)
  5. totally gutted for you mate.. all the best of luck getting them to to put this right for you....
  6. http://www.autoresto.co.uk/fog_led_300zx.html
  7. Ah... just found this.... shows exactly what I'm after (other than the measurement of the depth) an I correct in assuming your head is a TT one? http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1078188/Those-plugs-in-your-pics-are-too-short-for-a-TT-application.html
  8. Top Man.!! :thumbup1: .. the part I'm interested in is the thread depth... need to show that the shorter threaded plugs don't position the spark head correctly in the cylinder/head cavity. i assume that here isn't any other tapered section or hollow the spark end of the plug sits in.
  9. have you checked the fuse? engine bay fuse box, could also be the relay... relays of the same colour are interchangeable. swap it with another one to test if that is the problem, that is if the fuse is OK or if the fuse is blown and blows again...
  10. LOL.. thanks guys, really appreciate all the info, and by the way I already know it... never the less it is valid and helps to explain to other on here about the correct plugs for the car. However I really need the depth of the spark plug bore.... it's to settle an argument.. cheers.
  11. yeah... but not sure if all of them are available.... as far as I can see the only ones you can easily get now are the 11c's just in case the actual point of the thread gets lost.. And can anyone please measure the depth of the spark plug thread hole in the head... cheers.
  12. A work mate of mine just got a crappy scam emails today and during our laugh about it we found this: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/help-disrupt-fraudsters-by-reporting-scam-emails-feb11 so from now on when you get one of these crappy emails just forward it to them.... :) you never know something might even get done about it... (wishful thinking there  )
  13. something you should check up on... I've been told that they are notorious for having chocolate gear boxes... (got a mate who had an issue with one and then did some investigation). it might be work your while checking on one of their forums for issues with the manual gear boxes..
  14. be aware that there are differences between the Series 1 and 2... (on the S2 the two plugs together on the left are horizontal and the wiring is slightly different, I think) http://stadzport.com/FSM/EL_Electrical.pdf page EL-41
  15. when you say standard I assume you mean the NGK PFR6B-11C... because there are PFR6B (Platinums) that are too short as well... thanks guys but I still need the actual depth of the bore/plug hole thread... :)
  16. Yeah, cheers... want to convince someone that the iridiums are not suitable for the Zd for a number of reasons.... and the length of the thread and therefor position of the ignition/spark is very important.
  17.
  18. has anyone got a head off a car and can measure the depth of the spark plug thread hole... (i.e. to work out how long the thread should be so that the plug fully clears the thread hole). this is just to prove a point.... cheers.
  19. they are the standard 300 lights that have been moded ... looks like something has been stuck on the outside of them (look a bit Trans-am). you can see the lights underneath... I don't think they are on the market anywhere (luckily) ... :) can't you ask the seller?
  20. no I mean check that the pedals aren't pushing on any wires...
  21. yes... Power window & Seat- MAIN- Engine bay drivers side, back 30amp this is from a us car so you can see the battery... the UK ones the battery is on the other side.
  22. maybe you should be checking up in the foot-well to make sure you aren't crushing anything....
  23. I was about to bin mine and Jeff advised me not to..... So up to you take them off.. might be a little risk involved... or listen to the UK's foremost authority on Zd's..... Mmmmmmm like I said I left mine on... If your EBC goes on the fitz, (or someone sets it wrong) they are you saviour...
