Cure For Flu.......
get some berocca, either the fizzy orange tablets or the big tablets to swallow. chock full of vitamin c and loads of other stuff. not sure if it helps a cure (although I did see somthing on tv the other night saying vitamin c does help kick the common cold, but not prevent it) but it certainly gives you a lift (and your wee will turn day-glow orange which is pretty funny!!)

get greddy ECU
Hello, I've got one of chris get greddy's ecu's which I've not fitted yet (I'm guessing not a lot of point without boost jets or EBC, will do it when I put the EBC on) anybody know what level of boost the map on there lends itself too? I was thinking of keeping stock boost for day to day driving and 13-14psi for when I wanna go fast. would this be about right for the ecu with stock injectors? dont want to be running lean.... (or over fuelling for that matter, is stock boost OK when the ecu has been swapped?) cheers edit: balls wrong forum, should be under help and advice.... oops :slap:

exhaust gaskets...
cool, will stop off at the parts counter first thing and see if they have any kicking around, nopefully its a gasket for other cars as well as the 300 otherwise I'd imagine I'll be waiting a bit for it!! Fitting a mongoose system by the way with the four tailpipes, like the stock system but a bit bigger and more bling!

Demist
should do, all the fans/aircon and stuff inside will still work but no heat. The aircon alone should do a good job of clearing the mist (nice dry air) got a fooked heater matrix/heat exchanger on my golf at the moment (no aircon), its a right bugger on a cold morning at 6am when the windows keep steaming and you cant see crap!

exhaust gaskets...
any idea where I can get a couple of exhaust gaskets for my new catback system? is it a specific part or can I get a "universal" one and chop it to size? Cheers

just shoved the HIDs in! :)
I went for the 6k rating, H3 bulbs, my car is a jap model, im sure they are the same bulbs for UK models. I also got the wiring loom for a few extra dollars, not sure if this is really needed but it replaces all the ropey stock wiring for the bulbs and the stock stuff is then just used for and on/off signal. (at least that how I think it works! :) ) before you order with superhids.com check with chris at getgreddy he does a pretty much identical kit and he may be able to get his mits on the sooner (plus you wont be playing the will I/wont I get charged import duty and VAT lottery)

She's back and she's blue!!!
Those wheels certainly are the nuts, unfortunatly having spent over 6k on the car since buying it three months ago im running a bit low on funds so fancy allows are going to have to wait, do have a set of much better stock ones to stick on when I get the camber sorted.

how much to fit an exhaust?
Thought so! thanks chaps. they guy in the garage waffled on about making sure it all lined up, and some other crap, probably just trying to rip me off, I've decided to bite the bullet and fit it myself, dirty job but somebodys gotta do it....

just shoved the HIDs in! :)
the set from superhids.com although I think chris at get greddy does something very similar now for the same or slightly less mullah. the install was so easy, I dont know what slight mods other people needed to make to the rubber grommets/seals it all just plugged striaght in for me, no cutting needed.

how much to fit an exhaust?
How much have you guys been charged to fit a stainless catback system to yoru cars? no amount of bribes could get the local "chain" tyre and exhaust places to fit it "sorry we dont fit customers own property" and the local kev wheels and exhaust place wants £100 ! is that too much? sounds a lot to me

Hello!

must be handy to have permanent legal advice at home! :) my missus buggers off to "police academy" in three weeks, sixteen weeks of takeaway curries and farting at will! Is your missus in traffic? mine is keen to do public order, beating up drunk people is clearly a fetish of hers...

Many thanks to Frank at FG Accident Repair
Just like to say a big thanks to Frank (and luke from the zed centre who supplied all the bits) for the top job they did on my car, was quoted well over 4k for the same work to be done in hampshire and a stunning job has been done for under 2k!! I did moan a bit here previously about the amount of time it was taking but that was just me being an impatient git and it was well worth the wait! :) got a glimpse of Lukes car while I was there on the weekend which is still very much a work in progress but by all acounts it's going to be a beast when its finished! I look forward to seeing the final product! Thanks again chaps!

Hello!
the TT has bags of torque so handles being a heavy car pretty well, you defo still get squished in your seat!! the NA is certainly no slouch either but will probably feel slow compared to your polo. You will however notice that the "sensation" of speed is one hell of a lot less in the zed than you polo, zipping along at 100mph+ will feel like warp factor nine in a little car like that, however in the zed its a comfy cruise, you dont really think "christ im shifting" until 130+ (at least thats my take on it anyway) to be honest, if you get a stock TT you will have very similar performance to your g40, with lots more comfort and its much more of a head turner too. running costs prob wont be much higher as you wont have to keep rebuilding a supercharger! (i bet thats expensive!) running stock boost and if the car has been looked after many people get well over 100k miles on thier tubs, mines 80k and not a whiff of smoke (tempting fate!) im sure some people on here have over 120k on them. get out and have a drive in a few and make sure you see loads before making your mind up, its a buyers market at the moment so you should be able to break some poor sods balls on the price too! :) 3.5-4k should buy you a 90-91 manual (import) in good nick with a reasonable history. maybe even a bit less if you go for a auto.

Hello!
Im not sure anybody on here has done major weight reduction but Im fairly sure there would be one hell of a lot to be saved in dumping a lot of the interior trim, its pretty much a luxury car (in the early '90's japanese sense of the word anyway!) by ditching the miles of sound proofing, and trim along with aircon bits and bobs Im sure there could be a fairly substantial weight saving. although gotta think about if you want something as comfy as a rally car (i.e not at all, and really noisy) or a nice comfortable and pretty quiet and fairly fast cruiser. im guessing your polo must be a bit of a go-kart as its not built for luxury to start with so if thats what you are used to the zed will seem very very nice in comparison! The difference between the zed and my mkII golf run-around if amazing, especially the road/wind noise at speed on the m-way. Of course there is the MUCH more expensive route of replacing stock parts with light weight bits and bobs but Im unsure exactly how much of that is available for the zed as I dont think too many people actually "properly" race them.

She's back and she's blue!!!
thank you all for your kind words! :) Im dead chuffed with it! just finished sticking the grill back on after by kerb hitting incident yesterday, spent ages messing around with all kinds of glue then thought "whats this crap they have stuck it on with, hmm fibreglass filler," "bugger" says me had a huge tub of the stuff in the shed, wasted an hour doing a 5 minutes job when I had the right stuff! :slap: :slap: :slap: twat marks for grinding my nice new front end on a kerb within 3 hours of leaving the body shop? 10/10 I think! :)
