Another oil pressure Q
Im guessing my guage/sender is probably on its last legs, get virtually 0 reading on low revs/idle when the car is hot. does shift up a little when I gun it so I guess I dont have anything to worry about in the short term anyway! :) now where's my credit card, need to order some new guages!! :D

stating the obvious....
now we all know the theoretical top end of a zed, thats very very naughty :nono: must have been a great adrenaline rush! lucky you for having balls of steel! ;)

Your Top Ten Mods for the Zed?
I would imagine chicken wire would not obstruct the air flow, especially not the stuff with the bigger holes... it will however look a bit naff! :) unless you use it as a "show feature" and put a chicken in there! :)

stating the obvious....
Had the good fortune to find a long dry empty straight bit of road yesterday, , zeds go quite fast dont they!! just kept going and going, no sign of running out of puff even at stupid speed

Should I de mesh???
I actually hit a pidgeon at about 110 in my rover once, I just kind of dropped out of the sky and smashed into the windscreen!! didnt even chip the screen! just exploded in a huge cloud of feathers and left a oily wing print on the windscreen!! :)

Should I de mesh???
perhaps we should all ditch our '99 spec front ends (and other aftermarket bumpers) and go back to the stock ones... no grills bit also no holes big enough for a rabbit to fit through!!! :)

brushes on garage pressure washers
just been to harry halfords and invested in a cheapo pressure washer, more for getting the salt out from under the wheelarches and under the car than anything else, never seen the point at blasting away at the paint with high pressure water! also invested in some nice soft polishing bits and bobs along with a small fortune of meguirs stuff!!

just had my mongoose fitted

brushes on garage pressure washers
lol I thought I would get the piss taken for that one! :) It was actually a serious question, never having given a sh1t about the paintwork on any car I've ever owned I'd never thought about it much in the past! I think I may invest in my own pressure washer and some nice sponges! (I dont even own a car washing sponge!!!!) Tattoo man, the car is gayside blue (sorry bayside) so would probably show all those little scratches really badly on a sunny day. somebody close this thread now before I really get ripped for asking such a dumb question! :D

brushes on garage pressure washers
hullo, feeling the need to wash the car but i'm going to be really anal about it as i've just had it sprayed. Is it wise to use those broom type brushes attached to the garage pressure washes or will they leave those horrible little scratches in the paint? I'm a bit of a rookie when it comes to actually looking after a car properly, i;ve always been a lazy git in the past and just shoved them through the car wash or had a valet place do them!! :slap: (got some meguirs polish today too, cant wait for a dry weekend so I can pamper the car!)

just had my mongoose fitted
cost £100 to get it fitted (£510 for the system delivered from chris @ get greddy), I was going to do it myself but after crawling under the car this morning and checking the state of the bolts on there I decided I was never going to get them off easily, turned out to be a good move to be honest, they really struggled to get it off and that was with all the proper tools! it really didnt want to come off!!! time for my next mod now... 300zx.co.uk stickers! :) the chaps that fitted it were the local "power flow" place topgear (http://www.topgear.co.uk) in basingstoke, I stumbled across them the other day. turns out they could have done a complete custom stainless system with my choice of tailpipes (from a HUUUUGE range) for about £500 fitted!! If you have got one of these places close to you well worth going and having a chat. They also have a massive selection of wheels, will be checking out the prices there when I have some dough spare!

Too subtle?

just had my mongoose fitted
Apart from sounding the nuts bloody hell it changes the way the car drives, seems to rev more freely and seems a bit quicker taking off too! dead chuffed... spotted the odd puff of black smoke out of them though, :( hopefully this is just soot and crud knocked loose from the front when they fitted it...

Your Top Ten Mods for the Zed?
does that also mean that removing the mesh from the MAF is a good idea? (sorry I know this one has been covered a bit before just dont remember a conclusion...)

Your Top Ten Mods for the Zed?
Really?!?!?!? oh poo... so everybody with a '99 spec front end with the grills should loose them for better cooling? nuts.. they look really smart too. :(

just shoved the HIDs in! :)
I got the ones from superhids.com the kit chris at get greddy does is very similar but not from the same supplier (at least I think thats what he said...) Chris is a top fella and if he says they are a good kit i'm sure they are but I cant personally say what they are like to install. The superhids kit however was a doddle.

Bodywork - my first try!!!

Weird Problem
bit of a thread hijack, my car has had the fog light is switched on my using the standard front fog switch, at the moment the switch turns on both the front and rear fogs which I'd assume is an MOT failure, if I whip out the relay/fuse for the front fogs so the switch just does the rears that should pass right? front fogs not a requirement if memory serves?

Nzr: Stolen Pulsar Gti-r
Any idea if they drove it away or dragged it onto the back of a trailer/transporter ? Scary to think your local toerags can bypass a cat 1 system :( Good idea with the wheels! I'm thinking of a removable steering wheel....
