Been looking at getting a guitar, strat copies, etc etc was all set to get a Behringer USB model, when my Partners Uncle says i can borrow his old one, i say why not, thanks (thinking if its rubbish, i'll stick it under the bed and buy one anyway) Well imagine my surprise when he got out a Epiphone Les Paul Gibson. Hi As you can guess i'm looking at insurance quotes for my Zed, i'm not actually going to b1tch about the difference in quotes from company to company. What i want to know is the difference from broker to insurance company. I went to Auto Direct for a quote, got down to £350, best one i could find, usually it was £500 - £1000. towards the end of the process they mentioned the supplier was Aviva, so, i thought, maybe i can get i cheaper going to them, you know, cut out the middle man. Well imagine my surprise when the like for like quote came to £758. Is something going on between the insurance companies and the brokers to keep the brokers in business.. Rich

Hi , Just bought a wireless printer for my daughter at uni, it 's a HP Deskjet F4580. Got it home and the printer and the laptop DON'T actually make the connection, the printer has to connect to a wireless router and the pc connects to there. Why can the printer just not connect to the Laptop directly, surely having it hanging off the wireless routers allows lots of unscrupuless students to print on the printer. Or am i missing something Rich

Hi Found a receipt amongst all the paperwork for my Zed, and it read 'Clutch power assist......£95' Now i'm guessing this does what it says on the tin, has anyone else got one and are 300zx clutches usually tough.. Also what does it consists of. Cheers Rich

Hi, i'm thinking of learning the guitar and have narrowed it down to one. Its the Behringer iAXE USB Guitar See http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/IAXE393.aspx its USB interface to the PC is very interesting, I'm just learning so i dont need a fender strat or a Joe Santrani model. Any advice would be helpful Oh it goes for around £80 Rich

Daz mate, no idea, just filled out the form and at the end it said it wouldn't quote, as some one said on another post, you could get 5 zed owners ask for a quote and they'll all be different. One thing i did notice, putting on the mods (Exhaust/lowered/air filter/alloys with wide tyres) cranks it up by some £600 plus, dare not add the extra bhp from boost jets... :ohmy: Cheers anyway (got some leads, Performance direct look okay) Rich

Hi all I'm sure this has been covered numerous times, i was just wondering who are the best insurers for our cars, Lynbrooks wouldn't quote Heritage said no Aviva quoted £1300 i'm 49 1 claim (not my fault) 1 speeding (sp30) 2 years ncd, driveway, 6000 miles Fully comp All applications were for unmodified car, once quote is given i would then add the mods just to see the difference. However i went to confused.com and got this result, all were £700+ except the top one at £328. Insurance company is Performance Direct. so theres one to add to the list of decent quotes. Just to add, i was with the AA , usual quote was £300-£400 latest quote was £1008, i had the same price increase with the shogun.

hi guys Need some help from all you PC geniuses.. went back to my pc and it was showing some disk write errors..pc was frozen so i hard booted but the pc would not come back, keept saying NTDETECT error...etc... stuck a boot disk in, went into recovery console and did a chkdsk c: /f. Windows came back but the WHOLE Docs and settings of eveyones profile was GONE!!, not renamed or moved, Gone!! Could live with it except its got all my wifes invoices ready for the end of tax year submission this sunday...Dam!!! Any ideas any one as to what went wrong and can i recover any thing.. Thanks Guys, the police said that they normally steal a 4x4 and a high performance car in the same night...i feel offended now, they never touched my Zed....they could have had 2 for the price of 1...

There was i, sitting quietly at home tonight, when my next door neighbor knocks saing he chased a couple of guys away from my other car (V6 Shogun), when i go out, the rear window is smashed and the ignition casing is half off. Called the police and within a half hour (no joking) 1 had 2 cars, 1 patrol car and 1 of those sneaky Audi A6's with no markins plus a Forensic guy at my door..well impressed. They told me that it was most likely some gang looking for a 4x4 for a ram raid (gloves used, MO etc) and my neighbor was lucky they ran away..(didn't have the heart to tell them that before they got here i had gone out looking for them...) Ah well could have been worse. Just incase they come back tonight i've removed the coil/dizzie lead

Well thats what the reason is, jiggled the plastic and hey presto, the indicators came one... zx 0 gremlins 1 Cheerts all Rich (i think however, the gremlins score is much, much higher...)
