Daz Before you sell the silver one, can you tell me what you have done (or got given) to the tailgate rear, i can see the high level one but what is happening below it, on the tail itself rich

Bump Okay Boys and Girls, this is your last chance, if i cant swap it soon, i'm going to keep it and try for some std springs to make the ride softer and get an Auto box to put in. Rich

Hi Marty, Thanks, so its just support bracket problem solved. just a quickie, i've seen your tailgate with the high level spoiler, did you take any pics during its install, and what did you do with the strip at the top of the boot bit, where the perspex trim goes. Thanks rich

Hi attached is pic of brake cylinder with what appears to be an after market component ('cos its cleaner) Ringed in yellow. At the bottom there appears to be an adjustable allen key going into the cylinder block. Green arrow Any ideas any one? rich

Saw Vodkashots yesterday for a few hours, he said he'd give me a hand with my targa A pillar pipe problem (pass footwell filling up when it rains). Despite all his problems (dont worry ian, i wont tell them about the socket...) he found time to stick his hand right up the bodywork and find the offending black collecting pipe that had come off. 10 mins later its back on the clear pipe and routing water where it should go, (why it drops it in the wing area is beyond us) So a BIG thanks to Ian.:thumbup: also, whilst there i'm talking about tailgate skins and low and behold, he pops up and brings one down, sold for a few beers and some clocks. To top it all off, one of his mates Lee was there and was a 50/50 man, about whether to get a Zed, asked if i would take him out for a spin, no probs. Back he comes, grinning like a cheshire cat mumbling things like "gotta have one..." Told you it was quick... Rich

Depending how wide/long they are, you could try using some indelible black marker pen, might look okay from the outside, Regards Rich,

Hi Guys, i think you'll find the assembly on the left of the picture with the cable that has 3 bulb sockets on it comes from , i think, the early cars that had a foam spoiler on. Whereas the Assembly on the right of picture is from a later car that had an open spoiler, so they covered up that nasty piece of tailgate with a sexy bit of plastic. Some had brake lights in, some didn't. My last zed, a convert had the high level light on the back edge of the boot, and used LED's, I dont know when they started using them, but it looks light the strip used here uses the same harness assembly and bulbs, how old is your car Joe, maybe later models used 4, hope that helps and doesn't muddy the waters to much! He, remember me, had you std wheels at the A11 junction.. quick question, i know you told me about your problems, and only the other week 5th Gear had a problem about improving performance and guess who they picked for it... anyway, quickie, are you totally breaking up that Zed, and what car have you got now, you said what it wouldn't be.. not still in the bmw.. Go for a Mitzi Magnum/Legnum Estate VR4. Power/performance similar to the Zed, but 4 seats and a boot for the dog, get a black one and tint the rear windows and hey, nice car!! Ric

Vox, i might just do that, she's not car savvy at all, all she dors is get in it and drives around, she has no idea that the petrol fairy fills it up, the mechanical fairy fixes it or that the tax/insurance/MOTfairies come around once a year. I just Luvvvvvvvvvv the lowered look, its what makes me want to keep her, when i've finished a trip, get out and walk away, i turn around and look at her.....wow , so mean and she's a beast.. i might just "say" i've softened it up and i doubt she'll just accept it...worth a try Ric

Hi Vod, I'm assuming "new" coilovers have been put on to give the lowered look (which is really mean) I hope they haven't just thrown on different springs that are 2" lower!! . So is there any way to find out if the units are adjustable in any way. ? Cheers

( I did pml) What i meant to as was what was the type of original suspension, i assume it was a strut with a spring ..probably replaced by coilovers??, so whats the difference between strut and spring and coilovers , surely the description of "coilover" is applicable to both I'm not to hot on suspension (as you can tell) i'm trying to find out if i can make the suspension softer But..if i can and the suspension lets the ..well i dunno,,the body work?.. whatever the suspension is attached to, bounce up further, wont it hit something and damage it, so is it the done thing that when you lower a car you HAVE to stiffen up the suspension? Any advice will be gratefully accepted.. Rich

Quick question, My zed has been lowered by 2" , now can someone who knows how the original suspension is set up, tell me the way or ways it might have been done. I would look under it if i could get my head under the car, and in any case, i probably wouldn't know what i was looking for.. Cheers Rich

Marty, Pet shop? on the A10..thought it was just a garden centre, where's the pet shop, we are talking about the centre between the meldreth turn and the melbourn turn? what pets have you got.. Like the tub, is it a cover or a tailgate in itself? I'm only asking about the swap as i've had no offers for a complete car swap, and as i see lots of queries about auto --> manual, i thought if i swap it with someone, i could keep the body and engine.. Would the harness not come with the auto box, as he woouldn't use it 'cos he would get the manual harness. am i being thick here.. or is it a special made for conversions? I'm surprised i haven't seen you, considering your in the next village!! by the way, saw you pics, nice..but what is a tailgate tub? rich
