  5. Okay, here we go. car is LWB NA '91 Import. dont know if that matters but hey.. it usually does. Which is easier when putting on ne down pipes. drilling out 5 sheared bolts or removing the manifolds and grinding off the stud heads and knocking them through... When you get rid of the horrible looking piece of mangled plastic called a front panel, i might be able to take it off your hands so you wont need to look at it anymore.... promise i wouldn't charge you to much.. Rich
  12. Hi, looked under the front panel and saw the air filter, not ever having a std one, is this one std or aftermarket Rich Sent from my Lumia 900 using Tapatalk

  16. hi guys, most of the time my auto box changes gear with no issues, smooth and sweet. However, first to second almost gives me whip lash because of the vicious "clunk". Is this normal... (I hope not) can anything be done about it, Cheers Rich Sent from my Lumia 900 using Tapatalk
  17. Hi Guys, thanks for all you help and advice, to JeffTT as well for some off thread help. I have however come up with an interim fix. it is obvious the cable is stretched over and above its limit, but if you dont have up to a 100 notes then you can try what i did. Go back and remove the rear wheels and the rubber grommets that allow access to the star wheel, turn to the top as usual to clamp the pads on, how ever most instructions advise backing off the wheel about 5-6 turns, Don't. back it of a click at a time, and each time try to turn the wheel, after 2-3 clicks the wheels will turn freely, stop and do the other side, go and check the handbrake, you should have it biting after 20-30 degrees, Bingo!! wheels back on, don't forget the rubber grommets. Remember the handbrake is used on/off and deals with no movement (unless you're into drifting and handbrake turns) so minimal wear is usual. Cheers Rich
  18. Dont panic mate, it'll be running next time you pop in... Rich
  19. i said hypothetically, the new one is fine, don't worry. i'm just thinking ahead... Rich
  20. Leroy, Hi Mate. i know how you feel man, got the same problem on my car, see my thread here Its still not fixed, tried 3 g/b ECU's, no help. i have a feeling there is something not quite right somewhere, but i cant put my finger on it. Everyone says sha**ed gearbox, but i dare not buy and fit another one because that nagging problem will still be there.. So instead sold my BMW (with gearbox problem) and bought a Zed I'm interested in that post regarding the turbine speed sensor, with a name like that it implies a TT engine and Gearbox. what is yours NA or TT, mine is a NA engine with a TT box... Did you find that sensor, if so where is it. Just remember , you're not alone.... Rich
  21. Hi Guys, not that i'm thinking of doing it, (yet), but how difficult/easy is it to transplant a N/A engine from one zed to another, any special tools needed etc.. i assume you will need a engine hoist as a must... Cheers Rich
  22. Great write up, step by step instructions, just what you need. I now consider myself a handbrake drum adjustment specialist. However.. the handbrake still rises up to the sky.. so i look at the small nut below the handle and tucked away, after removing all of the centre console, i find that the nut is right down the thread and no further tightening is available, so where do i go from here...i just cant get the handbrake to work properly. Is it now that i need to look at new brake cables?? Please advise Rich
  23. Thanks Ted, you're a star... Rich
  24. Hi Guys, my handbrake is in a state of non function. no matter how high up you pull it, it just doesn't work. i have removed the rear wheels and adjusted the "star" wheel as instructed but this does nothing to improve the efficiency of the brake. Now im reading about a nut under the brake handle itself, now before i dismantle the dashboard and console is adjusting this nut going to help or do i have a REAL problem. Rich
