Hesitation and stalling.
Hi Guys. whats been going on is when the engine is warm/hot and i start it , it starts okay and the revs go about 800 -900. but when i put it in D or R the revs suck right down and sometimes stalls. inconvenient and quite frankly downright embarrassing. When the engine is cold, the idle is at 1100-1200 so when it sucks down it doesn't stall. No i have read LOADS of articles about this and the fixes are to numerous to mention. One thing i do not want to do is to go ferreting around, looking for the answer only to make a dozen more problems from disturbing 20 year old electrics. So is this problem of mine a common issue and all i need to do is increase the idle speed? One thing i was going to attempt was to check the volts on the tps, is this an easy check? Regards Rich

Remember these cars are 20+ years old and solder joints, terminal joints etc WILL break if moved, if you look at my picture of the loom that i had to bend back to "fix" the problem, you can see that it has had some work done on it, there is a 4-5 inch section wrapped in electrical tape, there is definitely some splicing gone on in there.. should i go in and check it out...might have to as i may need to access the yellow connector at the back of the engine further towards the battery. YEAH!!!! She Lives on 6!!! Well I have fixed (sort of) my misfiring..coil packs, spark plugs, injectors,o2 sensor,tps...no, none of these.. you know I said I was fiddling about with the loom, well I was looking at it and thought "moving the loom caused it, moving it back might fix it", so I grabbed it and bent it back the other way. low and behold the note changed and she was back on 6. Fixed..as I said, sort of. now some say if it aint broke don't fix it... but if I go delving in I may disrupt other things. But something is wrong and part of me really wants to get it sorted. Watch this space.. Rich

To good to be true!!
Well i've had my new zed for a few weeks with no real issues, overall she's drove as sweet as a nut. Only small issue was slight hesitation (when warm) putting it into a gear, revs drop any nearly stalls, (did a few times) Well today she's been fine, then i take her out about an hour ago and all hell brakes loose. i feel like the engine is running on rusty nuts and bolts, its missing or misfiring badly, and i mean badly, i daren't stop incase it stalls and wont start. Only thing i can say happened is before i went i was looking down the back of the engine, between engine and bulkhead where there are big looms and a connector , positioned vertical. whilst moving the looms, i'm not positive but maybe a change in engine note happened, going from 6 to 3 maybe..i dunno, maybe i'm clutching at straws. Anybody help please..

Had this in the door as well... Buzzer... could be for the "chirp" when lock/unlock Proximity sensor.. Had a cat 2 fitted once, dont know if that included this. I've got a alarm remote that does nothing but haven't yet managed to find the control box.

Car Tax. Just be careful
Just a word of precaution really, if you tax a car online make sure you go to the official Govt. website to do it. Normally i go online to RENEW my tax so am aware of the steps, but this time it was a to obtain one for the first time, as such the pages looked familiar, but not.. Seemed to ask the right questions, Even the yes/no ones. I even hit purchase, However something had been bugging me and just before i filled out the 3 letters of my bank accounts code, i noticed in small letters the cost for 6 months, £166. now i thought it was £130 tops, so i searched and searched thinking the budget had put it up, but kept coming up with £126.50. A quick check showed that it was NOT the official government website. Further checks on the official one gave caution. So, just watch out, they are not scams as such, just agree to "check and send" your application.
