Ok, appreciation over, now some questions open to all experts... I have finally got my Zed back on the road after a gearbox replacement and general "put back together" day last year. The reason for the transplant was a broken Auto gearbox, so when i drove it, it the Engine Management system only allowed 1st and 2nd gear, When i took it out, low and behold the box would only use 1st and 2nd. i am assuming that the EM system has no idea of the swap so still holds it back. If by some miracle i'm right, how do i tell it to pull its socks up and get with the programme. Another question, when i press the overdrive? button, a light illuminates on the RH set of warning lamps called "MISSION OIL" (i think it means transmission oil) has a wire gone astray? have i somehow got a rogue dash unit. Thats it for now Rich ps, God it was sooooooooooooo.. good to get behind the wheel of a Zed again.

So when i press the button should one of the rear light sections light up as well as the front lamps? Rich

Okay Then, looks like it is meant to be, Can you tell me if front driving lights are the same as front fogs...?

Here's a funny one. Ignition off, Light switch off. press the driving light switch, (3rd button down on right hand pod) lighting system behaves as if i have just turned the light switch on ??? i cant remember from my last Zed if this is "de rigueur" or bad wiring. Any comments. Rich

Hi N, its agonisingly close... it still runs sweetly and sounds beautiful, just sorting out some grumbling electrical issues, then gotta get it off those ramps and out of the gates (if it still fits..) The weather is causing me most problems as i cant get out there. If i get the HID's tomorrow and can fit them this weekend or just use the spare for now, you never know... if i do, you and Mark get the first Pic's Rich

Yep, that's us. Went round to the house and got the bulb no problem. Its spooky, there's a 300zx and SUV in the front garden, they're even the same colours as mine. Simple mistake, anyone could have made. Many Thanks Rich

Well my Zed is in my back garden and i swapped the X5 for a BMW 330ci convertible.. What number and street name did you put it on, i'll pop round and ask. rich

High Guys, still trying to get the ZED on the road, just tying up loose ends.. i've ordered a HID kit from phutumsch as one of my main bulbs blew, now to keep a set of working bulbs in case i upgrade (the car that is) i need a H3C bulb, Does any one have one kicking about they dont need, postage paid. Yeah, Front fogs. When you say H3, to me H3 are the ones with a flying lead and a spade, like this The ones i have are HID discharge which are the long ones , are there different specs of that (apart from colour) you know replacement for H3 H4 H7 etc I got your email/messages about delivery for the kit i bought. Sent you half of fees, i always try to be fair when it comes to paypal fees, ie 50/50, unfortunately i always get shafted when i'm selling for some reason. Regards rich

phutumsch Sorry, dont know your name, but i found these that i bought for my X5 last year for the fog lights as they didn't work, turns out it was the ballast units, They say headlamp units and the ones on ebay that say "H3C replacement" look like these... Are these the same as the light units you have (pic would be nice) But then you said i would have H3 bulbs, and these do not look like them. Cheers Rich

N Hi, i'm not to bad, Had a couple of times before New year when i wasn't, one nearly ending up in AE. I've so nearly got the car on the road, but apart from the previous issues, the Gearbox in the X5 went, got rid, got a BMW 330ci convert, now THAT gearbox has busted..no reverse gear F**K , so i desperately need a Japanese reliable car... Then over Xmas, after those gales, 7 of my fence panels blew down, with 6 posts.. whilst i was not well. took me 3 weeks to put them back up, So since you and Mark sorted me out, its been hell... Well i finally sorted out a front bumper for the car, couldn't get that grey one to fit, it needed major rework. Found a site with a post on doing bodywork mods, great thread, then the bl**dy site got switched off...remember it.. So i ended up buying a cheap std bumper, made from bendy stuff not the grp crap the grey one was.... had to get some metalwork for it from Kev. So all i need to do now to get it on the road is jack every tyre and clean the disks and then get a bulb for the headlamp ... oh, thats where you came in... One of my Headlamp bulbs has stopped working and from what i can find out it is a H3C, (not a H3). Now from all my investigations, it looks like these bulbs are mainly used as fog light bulbs. Are these the right bulbs for the dipped beam on the headlamp? Hi, just a quick question to any spraying experts out there, is it possible to buy a nozzle kit ( which includes an air cap) for a LVLP spray gun, and put the Cap on a HVLP gun to turn it into an LVLP gun, because from what i can find out the difference between the 2 is the hole design in the air cap for atomisation. Okay, sorry about that, panic over so i can relax and tell you. you know i said there was a kph/mph converter box on it, well on the back was a sticker saying which wire was pos and neg, so it was just a case of finding the pos/neg on the speedo wire lanes, i think that was it, as i didn't actually do it but someone else who was rebuilding the interior for me. thinking back, to my old TT zed, there were 2 central wire that seemed to attach to the 2 screw heads round the corner from the back panel, dont know if that makes any sense or not....
