  1. I am currently putting back the instrument cluster and there are 2 wires that come up and attach to the back of the panel, on my car it has a kph/mph converter box. Question is , where do these 2 wires screw on to. i remember they go onto already existing screw heads, but which ones, HELP!! Rich
  2. Cheers Mark..any details for a supplier..??? Rich
  3. Hi Guys, i need to extend one of the oil pipes in the oil pipe assembly that runs from the gearbox to the oil cooler, ally pipe with connectors or rubber hose (suitable) push on with jubilee clips, Any ideas on sourcing? Rich Quick question?? whats the max pressure in the oil pipes?
  4. Can you tell me what the pipe assy from the gearbox (auto) , one either side with banjo connectors going forwards, up and under to the bottom of the rad is called. Thx Rich
  5. Was writing a post and the little yellow flag kept popping up telling me it was saved. well i screwed up and closed down the browser. so how do i go back to my draft? Rich
  6. Jeff, hi , yeah I was wondering if those holes took cable ties for the loom, I still retained the small bolt, and the seal, haven't secured it yet as I'll do the bell housing bolt first tomorrow then seal and bolt it. Then its the oilway pipes, looms and then the Starter motor, Cheers Rich
  7. Jeff, hi. I have got the pipe fitted it just seemed to drop in.. probably the forerunner of those Japanese puzzles... question. I see the bracket going to the bell housing bolt but what does the 2 square welded-on plates with holes in go/do Rich
  8. Cheers Jeff, appreciate that. Rich
  9. Hi, just a quick question...should i have put the g/box oil dipstick tube in the box BEFORE i fitted it to the car....?? Rich
  10. - i'd have got out and smacked 'em.....

  12. Cheers guys, found the bracket and managed to bolt up the Torque Converter, Thanks again! Rich
  13. YEAH!!!!!! After months..maybe years.. i have finally fitted the replacement gearbox into the car, i know its still got a long way to go but this has been a big milestone, i can finally crawl under the car without a massive lump of ally and a 3 ton trolley jack in the way. However, i have one question...how the hell do i put the 4 bolts through the starter gear into the Torque Conv. there's no bleeding room for them!! The starter hole has no gap big enough for the bolt Rich
  14. Groov, as you suspected, cut off...
  15. Groove, i'll have a look tomorrow when its light.... any idea why it might have been cut off? Rich
  16. Hi Groov, Inhibitor switch, that sounds right, i've heard that before, but why do i not have one on the box i'm putting in! the pics are from the knackered one that came out. Thanks Rich
  17. Hi Guys, any one got any answers? I'm still unsure about the "Extra Connector" in the bottom photo that doesn't exist on my loom, i think i see where it goes but i dont have one. I think i've sussed the speed sensor leads so thats not an issue, So any ideas about this connector. Thanks Rich
  18. jmw, you have pm Thanks all for the info. Rich
  19. Hi Guys , at the rear of the gearboxes, i'm assuming its the same for all variants, is a cylindical casting at an angle. When removed there is a gear at the end which splices onto a wheel inside the rear of the box. now the one i removed from a NA auto box does not fit the hole of a TT Autobox, so there are some differences, but my main question is what does this sensor detect?. is it speed or rpm? Also, if i reduce the dia of the sensor to fit the TT box, (its a couple of mm off dia) will it work? Thanks Rich
  20. Hi guys, well i'm nearly there with gearbox and am looking at the finer details, My car ia a NA auto, i removed the box and am fitting a replacement, unfortunately i couldn't get a box from a NA so am fitting, after "'course you can use it" advice one from a TT. Now for the minor details. The loom from the old box has a connector coming out of it (see pic) but the loom on the TT doesn't, what's if for and to confuse things, i cant see a recepticle in the engine bay. The rev sensor from the old box has some fly leads (see pic), any idea where these go as i cant see anywhere under the car to fit them to. Thats it for now, but if i find anymore funnies i'll be back. Rich
  21. well bugger me....they're back. there must be a time limit on them. solved it myself... Thanks
  22. To see my posts and replies there was a Hyperlink on the right next to my " NOTIFICATIONS", but not any more??? has something happened? Rich
  23. Terry, Clarkey, Znut, Thanks for the advice, i think thats gbox 3, engine 0. I didn't get a chance this weekend, but am starting tonight and finis off tomorrow, just one thing, i've had conflicting advice on whether to add oil into the TQ before offering up to the box? Thoughts?.... Rich
