Im making assumptions here. He doesnt say that the cheque is made out to him, so im assuming its a blank cheque with the sum of 4.5k written on it. If that is the case, then it is the finders responsibility to make reasonable enquiries to establish who the owner is, and if the cheque was legitimatly made out to him. If you were just receive a cheque that is signed with an amount written on it, but with no reciever details on it and paid it into your account, in the eyes of the law, your taking ownership of that money. The ONLY way, in these circumstances, to show that you have no intent to steal the money would be to follow the actions i have said above. TBH i wouldnt want to put a cheque for that amount of money in my bank account if i didnt know who it came from. It may well be worth visiting the bank that the cheque came from (ie HSBC,NATWEST etc) and see if they would be able to see which branch the account is with. The likely hood is that they wont tell you due to data protection, but its worth a try

I take it you dont recognise the name on the cheque (as in the person whos chequebook its come out of), or anyone who may have sent you money from the area of the letter was sent from, on the postal stamp. Is the cheque got your name as the reciever What I would do it take it down the police station and report it (i kind of have to being a copper). If no one claims it within 3 months, you get the cheque back at its lawfully yours. If you decide to keep it and pay it in, and the owner reports it as lost/stolen, then you would be prosecuted for theft by finding. By taking it to the police station, you havent lost anything, your arse is covered as youve lawfully done the right thing, and you may end up having 4.5K which is lawfully yours! Win - Win situation.

Yeah deffinately. It doesnt take much to bring them a bit more up to date as well whilst still being able to keep the clean lines the zed has.

I had apexi ones on my old zed, which i bought from Danny@DTA. Very good, no idleing problems, fitted very easily in the stock postion, and theyre not too offensive. But the HKS ones also sound very nice.

Saiko - i think you need to make the commitee aware if it has been a substantial amount of time. Im not subscribed so my opinion may only count for shite, but I will assume that a feedback system IS being worked on. Until then what does everyone think about having a commitee member who has the joy of overseeing trade deals between subscribed member, and any dealing with the problems that occur during those deals? Sort of a single point of contact that members can speak to. This may be the case already, but from my point of view it doesnt appear to be the case. Nick

I dont see why you should have to pay for fitting the parts more than once. The way im reading it is that you got the parts through this garage. If they cant get the right part, or what sounds like get the right part to fit properly, you shouldnt have to pay the costs of fitting and removing until they get it right. :confused: Why you paying for a garage to fit pads and discs anyway??? Its the easiest job in the worlds, and if your having probs theyres more than enough members round your neck of the woods who could show you how to do it! :p Just my opinion of course :nelson: Nick

As some of you may know, i have been trying to decide what car to get next. I managed to narrow it down between the R32 GTR and another 300zx TT. Tbh i pretty much had my heart set on a R32 GTR, ive always like skylines and it was something new, a fresh start, a new adventure. Then the inevitable happened, i have realised that it was the idea of owning a skyline that i liked, and not specifically and R32 (truth be known the R33 is my fav, and i would never be able to afford a good one). That was it, the seed was planted in my little head, that little idea of having a 300zx TT in my life again had infected my mind and started to grow. This infection has spread through my body, erasing the memories of all the bad times i had, all the frustrations of having a zed that just wouldnt play fair. The outragous amounts of borrowed cash just to get a car back on the road again and to hear the thunderous V6 roaring out of that HKS super dragger, tingling the hairs on the back of my neck. I tried to combat this infection by dosing myself up with other performance cars, Merc AMG's, Evos, Beemer M5's, even a brand spankers Porsche 997 Turbo. And yet every time i got out of what ever car id just driven, after the initial buzz of the thrill of some serious bits of kit, i still managed to find myself laying in bed, thinking of ways to justify to myself the ownership of another zed. Then i made the fatal mistake. I started looking at my photos of my old 300 :slap: , "You STUPID BOY pike" i said to myself. I find myself spending more and more time on THIS very site, trying to get my 300zx fix, to fight off what urges i have to be a silly twat and go down the bank and get another loan. And yet the worst thing of all happened to me today. The missus. The person who has always said "dont get another zed, youve been there and done that, find something new" turned around and said "i think you should get another". That was it, my fate was sealed tighter than a sea lions balloon knot. Now im off to bed again, to do what all blokes who own zeds do, create that little list that stays in your head - - What should i do to my zed! ;)

Yeah, and he;s only been registered for 1 month. Looking at his other items he has quiet a few other cars for sale. Looks like the only way im going to find out is to go down and take a gander

HAHAHA!!! tbh i have looked at quiet a few cars over the last 6 months or so, and i think ive got the advantage of being able to be VERY picky, but i am yet to find a car that is A) worth the money thats being asked for it and B) find a car that is enough of a bargin to warrant buying it. im in no rush tho. oh and change those standard wheels!!!!!!

Thats a very good price even for an NA never mind a Version S. Well i think im going to go and look at it tommorrow, so ill let you all know what its like, regardless of whether i buy it or not
