  2. Really? i never knew blue flame made pipes for the zed. Theyve got and awesome reputation in the bike world!
  3. Deffo agreed. The mongoose system fits you requirements the best, espec if you go for the quad pipe option. If Danny@DTA doesnt do them or cant get hold of them, theyre quiet free available over the net Nick
  4. Nice one Dan, as per usual, you always seem to find a way of giving zed owners what they need!
  5. Stu, email me what ever details you currently have on this mechanic. I may be able to help you out, due to my current employment, i may be able to find out information that would not be readily accessable to joe public if you catch my drift. My email address is torque0fthedevil@hotmail.co.uk HTH Nick
  6. Gumball, get in touch directly to goodridge and not the company you bought them from. My best mate just bought some for his legacy and had a similar problem. There customer services are fantastic and they sent him out a correct set within 4 days. I think the number is on the goodridge website
  7. Its myrtle from Lilo and Stitch
  8. Ditto marco. Im fairly handy with a spanner, and im only down the road. Let me know if you need a hand with anything Nick
  9. Really? i didnt know that. But hey, what a similarity!
  10. My God i never knew you were famous!!!
  11. Thats exactly what it is, ive seen the full video, the cat aint having a siezure, its owner is scratching its back just by its tail and recording its reaction. My cat does similar, but no silly noises!
  12. Id personally whip the engine out to get a better idea of what the rest of the engine bay is like (ie bent/twisted etc), but am i right in thinking that the engine has risen on the opposite side of where the point of impact was??
  13. No way! Feel for you matey, i was out playing on the roundabouts last night and it was VERY slippy. Post some more pics up in daylight and peeps would be able to give a better idea. When you moved the car, did it roll ok, or were theyre obvious mechanical faults?
  14. Does anyone else think the back end has a hint of Aston Martin V8 Vantage about it?
  15. I also like what they have done with the interior, especially covering the dash and console in what looks like alcantara. Brings it right up to date and get rid of the nasty jap plastic. For the people who have had re-trims, how much do you reckon it would cost to do something like that?
  16. So does powder coating it make any difference in regards to heat dissepation?
  17. yeah, im planning on going there next year
  18. Your opinion is your opinion, but i will pick a couple of holes in what you said. Firstly it aint possible to retire that young. To get the full pension you have to do 30 years service, so the youngest you can retire is 48. There are very few officers who joined at the age of 18 left in the police. Also the average age of a police officer now is 31 with 6 years service. In comparison to the guys who are coming to the end of their carrers, officers of the "average" wage dont get anywhere near the allowences that the guys coming to the end of their carrer get (ie houseing allowences etc). This drastically reduces the amount of benefits, and overall income of an officer who falls into the "average age" bracket. Which in short, make the average wage of officers extremely comparible to that of middle management positions in the private sector. Further to that, theres no difference between us and the forces in that when you retire you can do something else. And the whole reason the police pension is so good, is because we so much bloody money into it. This country being less dangerous than the US is complete pish. The fact is we have a comparible rate percentage rate of illegal firearms in circulation in the public to the overall populus as the US does. This is not a well publised fact, but trust me its true. And what do we have do defend ourselfs with, watered down CS spray which 1 in 10 people are immune to. Coppers are getting sacked all the time for corruption and incapablity, and yet again, this aint well publised as it would present a poor public image of the police. What I will say about the armed coppers you saw is, they make my job very difficult in trying to show how the police and should act. As with most things its a case of the minority spoiling it for the majority. Nick
  19. The only way that i know of that the DVLA would find out that you have been repeatedly been stuck on for a small number plate, is that if you are given a ticket several times by the SAME officer. DVLA arnt informed of non-endorsable ticket, for the very reason that they do not endorse a driving licence. The only way i aware of is if the officer who has caught someone repeat offending can file a very lengthy report to the DVLA as to why he thinks that a Q plate should be issued, and then the DVLA make the desicion. To be completely honest ive only ever seen this done once in 5 years, and its such a rare occurance, i wouldnt expect to see it happen again any time soon. But it DOES happen. Just hope you never get stopped by the same copper more than once with an illegal plate. I'm personally happy to run that risk
  20. For the bike which has got a small plate and on my old zed i had a small plate, every time i MOT it, i only got an advisory. I was speaking to the MOT tester and he said that VOSA did bring in a thing for illegal plates, and then promptly retracted them. He did tell me the reason for the retraction but i cant remember what it was
  21. Cheeky sod! I had a very similar scenario with my last zed with the rear plate, it looks the same as your, but the traffic cop said it was ok as it met with import car standards. The scheme is called Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme (VDRS) where you have to take it to an MOT station and have it re assessed for road worthyness. Thing is, you cant fail and MOT for having small plates. All seems a bit daft to me!
