Peeps,

Im planning a Driving Holiday/Road Trip for 2009. So far i have chosen 4 places i REALLY want to go to:

1: Le Mans 24hr

2: Millau Bridge

3: Stelvio Pass and surrounding roads

4: The NurburgRing

This is pretty much the route i have got so far, which makes quiet a nice circuit.

Now what i want to ask you educated types, where else is worth visiting. The whole purpose of the trip is the "Driving Experience", nothing but gorgeous roads in a nice car.

Now this plan is very much in its infancy, so any suggestions are welcome.

Nick

It depends how much time you've got. There are now some amazing bridges in france which are terrifying to drive over!. The Z Club pull in Le Mans with the French z Club and that's worth a trip. Go onto the Z Club site and join as a website member. You can then contact Sean Dezart on the pm system (he's in france and arranges the Le Mans trip) Or try Suzy on either site she sorts out the english side of the trips. HTH

its a nice square route.

thats got to be 2 weeks worth of a trip though, Id be bugered if I would want to just go through thoes places the once.

What A coincidence, I was planning on taking a 4 week trip around the same time.

Do you have autoroute? if so I can send you a list of some of my waypoints.

Yeah, 2 weeks was the sort of time i was looking to spend doing it. I think that would give us enough time to see what we want to see. TBH i dont think we'd stay too long at the Millay Bridge, and spend a fair bit of time at the ring and Stelvio.

I also think that the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and possibly Lake Geneva may well be making there way onto the list

2: Millau Bridge

Yes matey, cheers fella. Really helped with sorting out night stops etc.

how did you get those yellow and green dots on your map that are like points of interest that arnt actually on your route?

  • 1 month later...

Sorry for the late reply, I completely forgot about this thread :x:

If you find the drawing pin button there's a pull down menu that will bring up a large list of different icons you can choose.

The yellow bits are because I have highlighted the points. Right click on the drawing pin (Or other icon) and select highlight.

Basically what I've done is to add any point that for one reason or another I would like to visit, Not all of them are going to be possible but if I have all of them then I can make course corrections while I'm out there in case I get behind/ahead of schedule.
