  1. Personally i like the 0-100-0 test. Its all well and good having all the bhp in the world, if you cant brake as efficiently, whats the point!
  2. Mate, if your thinking of selling your zed, email me! Ill have it for deffo!
  3. Deffo just a drag machine. Surely the turbo lag would make it barely driveable on the road, especially over here. Lovely job tho, some nice workmanship gone into that!
  4. I was always told to check the timing is correct when changing a cambelt. Cant remember who by, but i cant see it hurting. Point taken tho, suppose being into cars, or pretty much anything with an engine, gives you a slight advantage over the "average novice". Maybe im just blessed (dont be so arrogant pike! :slap: )
  5. Sorry to hear this bud. I had one of the rubber hoses off the Hicas solenoids burst. The hose itself wasnt too expensive, but i seem to recall it being a pig to change. Sorry i cant help any more
  6. I certainly wouldnt say it was hard. Its just a bit time consuming. I managed it when i was a novice. The only thing i couldnt do was the cambelt timing coz i didnt have a timing gun. saying that i wouldnt know how to use it even if i did have one! :slap:
  7. My old zed sounded EXACTLY like that when cold. New set of lifters sorted it straight out
  8. Thats you lifters bud. What oil are you using??? Try Hydraulic lifter treatment by wynns. That should sort it. If not you can clean the lifters out my hand, or change them for a new set. its not a big job
  9. I think we need to dip into the forum "chill pills"!!!
  10. A hyper car is a a term used in the auto journalism world for a car that is at the very top of the car pyramid in pretty much all classes, eg power, price, number produced. Such examples of these ARE the XJ220, McLaren F1, Lambo Murcielago LP640 and the Bugatti Veyron. Generally they cant match the handling abilitys of a "super car" due to the extra weight and the excessive power that overcomes the chassis. Even tho the latest cars such as the Ferrari Enzo are at near the top of the exclusivity tree, they are so focused in the handling department, they are still classed as a supercar. Its a simple fact that a Hyper car will always be out-handled by a Supercar. The ONLY excemption i can come up with is the Veyron, which a close friend of mine could not loose in the twisties when he was driving a 911 GT3RS (he works for Autocar mag) TBH i do think the NSX is a pretty car, and one with great handling ability, but it was never a "Proper" supercar. Theyre no excess, no flamboyance with a NSX, its all a bit too precise, and just not powerfull enough. At the end of the day, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And the moral of the storey....... Arse, i forgot, what were we talking about again??? :mac1:
  11. I dont think this one is going to polish out! http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/crashedgtr2un9.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/crashedgtrke8.jpg

  13. Great cars, one of my mates has got the 182, and its just like a rollerskate, great fun!
  14. Thanks for this, cheered me up no end!
  15. shit the bed, 11K!!!!!!!
  16. Polybushing the whole front suspension and the steering rack mounts will make a huge difference. Just remember that all the bushes in your front suspension are now over 10 years old and well past there best. Ive just done my mates Scooby Legacy with WhiteLine polybush's. Made a huge difference, steering feedback improved no end and it felt alot sharper
  17. Went a couple of years ago, got very wet, umberella destroyed itself, and had a whale of a time. Will try and book time of work, but provisionally im well up for it
  18. Where abouts on the M3 mate. I know theres a black one that live in Hook with a high rise on it, but he aint on the forum
  19. it was not a bad turn out considering the appauling weather. Was good to meet some new people, well person really, Chris 300, and some old faces as well, Andy Isherwood and Eileen (Lets_Drift (banned). In the end it was a couple of 300zx's a couple of skylines, and Gen 2 RX7 convertable, 350z, 200sx, couple of CRX's and a GTO. Excuse the poor quality photos, but i was getting bloody wet! This will become a monthly meet in the near future, which me and my mate are sorting out with the Landlord. Theyre was a very good atmosphere all round and i wish i could have stayed a bit longer, but duty called etc. Ill put a post up in this section again as to when the next meet will be and lets hope for some better weather and more 300's! Nick
  20. a photo would give me an idea. Ive got some mates who do wheel refurb. I can show them the pic and ask there opinion for you if you like
  21. I didnt snooze, i virtually gave it too you!! :headvswal Nah, no worries mate, i havent even got the zed to put it on yet, but when i do, itll be something ill be trying to track down Cheers fella
  22. Cool. I think i should be down there around 7pm. Ill be in a black 57 reg Beemer 3 series convertable hopefully parked next to my dad-in-law white GTO. Aparently the vast majority of people are turning up at around 7:30, but ill keep an eye out. Unfortunatly i cant stay too long as ive got to be at work at 10. See you there Nick
  23. yep, you swine! My engine went pop for the second time so i decided against it. Do you know anywhere else you can get them?
  24. Alright mate, Ive been meaning to ask you, but never got round to it.... Where did you get that dash mount for your boost gauge from. When i had my last zed i was going to buy Bee Gee Vinz's spare one, but prioritys changed and i never got round to it! Will deffo be wanting one when i get the next zed as the they look much tidier than A pillar mounted ones. Cheers Nick
  25. Ill go with what mark said. When i bought my old zed it had Pirelli P-zeros on them, which were just plain scary in the wet. I changed my wheels (apache got them now) to some Blitz type V's which had shite jap rubber on them, to B'stone S02's. Stunning difference in the wet and very grippy in the dry. I started to struggle getting hold of S02's so went for S03's instead, which i believe are still standard fitment on Porsche's. Both outstanding tyres in wet and dry conditions, and even though i dont have a zed any more, i will only put bridgestones on my FireBlade. I will agree with Jeremy as well, if i couldnt get Bstones, i would go for Goodyear Eagle F1's as well, which have an equally good reputation for wet weather driving
