  1. Yes mate, as far as im aware. Ive got my FireBlade and a daily driver both insured with them
  2. Yeah and his arse was doing this O o O o O o O o O at about 7,000rpm
  3. Cheers guys. Its just so bloody frustrating when you get your hopes up, only for them to be shot down in flames.
  4. Alright fella, try Keith Michaels mate, theyve always been the best for me, very competative. http://www.keithmichaels.co.uk/ Hope all is well Nick
  5. :hurl: why did i think it would be alright to keep eating my bacon sarnie while watching that???
  6. I just want to start off by saying, that i know the whole compensation culture thing is a very hot topic for some, and some people will probably disagree with the morals of the subject. But at the end of the day its a decision ive made and im happy with. If you want to slate the whole compensation culture thing, fine i got no problem with that especially when it comes down to the sort of people who fake whiplash to get a bit of cash, but lets not make this personal shall we. Im not writing this in order to seek sympathy, purely to express the disappointment of not being able to get a zed for the foreseeable future. Long and short of it is that i had a nasty accident a few years ago where i ended up with a serious knee injury that will require reconstructive surgery of the joint and ligaments/tendons surrounding it, which is penned in for the next few months. At the time I had a reasonable sum of money, which i had saved up, that i had reserved for a new car. Because Jodie had to look after me 24/7 for the first 3 or 4 months of the rehab process, she took a career break of sorts to look after me, and the money that i had saved up was used to keep a roof above our head and food in the fridge (something im sure all of us would do given the scenario). For me this was a big dissappointment as i was really looking forward to getting another car after the dissapointment of my first zed. But hey, i bit the bullet and used the money to pay bills, as anyone would. Anyway, legal advice was recommended, which i took, and civil action proceedings began. That was 2 years ago. Had a small consultation with my solicitor a week or so ago, in which i was told the claim had been filed, but it would take around another 9 months for the civil action to be completed. For Fooks Sake!. all i want is the money back that i worked my arse off for... Oh well theres sweet FA i can to speed that up. So i thought id do a small remortgage and use a tiny amount of the equity in the house.... Nope. Key workers duely stopped that from happening as im not close enought to the end of my current mortgage contract. Arse....again! So once again im about as close to zed ownership as Britney is to her kids.... Fooking miles away. bugger.
  7. Or you could go one step further and ceramic coat them :D

Is that before or after we slit their throats and stick them in a frying pan?

Suppose thats old age for you fella :D :D :D
  10. Try Goodyear Eagle F1's. Theyve always been classed as a top notch tyre, and a very competant wet weather one at that
  11. I will agree with you on runflats. TBH unless your suspension is set up for them, the sidewalls are far too stiff and make the ride very very hard and choppy. BMW had problems with these when they introduced them on the previous 3 series, which has been rectified on the current 3 series as the suspension has been set up to suit them (talking from experience on this one, my missus has worked for BMW for the last 5 years, so ive experienced the differences first hand). And BTW, the SO series arnt run flats :D
  12. Ive just realised i put PCV in my last post..... I ment to say PTU Nick
  13. Thats what independant tyre tests are for bud! where, incidently, bridgestone has come on top for the last 3 years for RWD cars.
  14. A fault with the instument panel wouldnt cause the steering to become heavy and stop the 'box changing gear! Is it misfiring? it sounds like its running very rich to me. What are the condition of the spark plugs like? Have you checked to see if they are all sparking? more info please mate! Diagnosing faults online isnt the easiest thing in the world to do, so the more info the better. If you get chance, take a small video of the engine running and post it up, this will aid your chances in someone being able to diagnose any faults Third and finally, welcome to the club Nick
  15. You mean you never christened your zed, shame on you!!! ;)
  16. No wonder your selling!
  17. Completely agree with you mark. you do get what you pay for, and the SO range is the best for any performance RWD car. Personally i got on with the SO3's better due to a better milage. But you NEVER skimp on tyres, you can have the best suspension setup in the world, but when a situation occurs where you need all the grip you can get, and you got shite tyres, it wont be me pulling your zed out the bushes! Oh, and people, dont start going on about that crap of "you can only do 70mph", if thats the case why the fook do you have a zed! you own a performance car FFS! I got 12,000 miles out of a set of SO3's by driving smooooothly, but when i needed them when bambi popped her head out the bushes asking for a speed dating session, my god im glad i had top grade rubber keeping me on the black stuff. Rant over :slap:
  18. I was thinking about the CAS andy, but the only experience ive ever had with a CAS causing running problems was the connector was all greened up, and pretty much used to keep cutting out on me, which is more extreme than this scenario. Stella, i take it youve checked the condition of the connectors on the CAS, TPS and the PCV?
  19. Been thinking about this for a few hours now. This is pretty much my thought process, some of which may be stating the obvious, but i problem solve better when its laid out infront of me. Running rich is a definate. fits the bill to a T Theres nothing to suggest poor compression etc. Spark... Is it getting one. If so is it a strong spark or a pathetic one. If its weak, its either knackered plug, coil or leads (which seem to get overlooked alot in diagnosing spark faults on zeds, even tho there 15 years old) Fuel... Fuel filter probs would tend to cause lean running not rich... maybe not this then. But then you mention doing resets on ecu etc....... Why would this fix it? mmmm Injectors...... Im think im right in thinking that not only can they block so no fuel gets through, to the opposite that they get jammed open dumping fuel into the cylinder. Possible theory - Is that right andy, im not 100%. Ill sleep on it and see what i can come up with Nick
  20. 1200 grade wet and dry, then i use Meguiars Metal Polish. Ill see if i can find a pic of my old wheels, but they were mirror finish, took me about a day to do them.
  21. Look nice. What make are they? I take it the blanked off section is for an external wastegate.
  22. Depends on the offset mate. Do a search, theyre have been loads of threads recently about this subject. Oh and get some wider wheels for the rear, zeds dont suit skinny wheels!
  23. Its just a complete reversal of the old "Selling from abroad payment before you see the car and send it back if you dont like it" scam!
