Sorry mate, but £55 plus vat is nothing! That pretty much the average garage will charge for labour. Infact thats not a bad price, I cant think of any official dealership that charges less than that, apart from the like of TATA and Peradua You wana try owning a ducati, official dealership rates for working on my old bike was £110 ph plus vat!

A willingness to not only tell us what needs doing, but explain why or how at happened and help us understand the fix, Zed-Education as it were. I understand as a business, profit is the whole point and without it, there is no business. But if someone is willing to spend a few extra minutes with me explaining things, im more likely to come back and be a repeat customer and recommend to my friends. Knowledge is power, and if your not only well informed, but fully understand what is happening, it gives zed owners a better understanding of there cars, and is reassuring to here that your mechanic understands what is going on enough to explain it to the customer to the point where they understand what is happening, instead of just handing over a load of cash. And as previously said, QUALITY of work. I would rather pay top dollar for high standards of work than save a few quid and have the likelyhood of further problems down the line.

Just logged on and, all the Meets section, Trade Section, For Sale/Wanted section have all dissappeared! Anyone got any ideas whats going on???

I think the worst one i had was when i was 19. Had a fiat punto GT turbo and was following my mate, who was in a Nova 1.3 SR, back from BlackBush market going to his place. We were going down a twistie road that we both know really well and he was travelling at about 20 mph for some reason, and i was really impatient. I waited for a gap and went for it knowing my car was much faster, he saw me pull the overtake and gunned it. I managed to get past him no probs, but i was going way to fast into the next corner. I lost the back end onto the grass and managed to hold the skid, that was until the rear nearside tyre hit a paving slab protecting a drain cover, send me into a skid heading into oncoming traffic completely sideways. Then one of the front tyres was ripped off the rim which didnt help matters, infact the bare wheel gripped and tried to toss the car. It was pure luck that it didnt. The car continued to skid sideways down the road, and the back end hit a 2 day old, £55k Merc M class and smash every panel on the drivers side. That caused me to go into a spin, and i pretty much gave up trying to save it. I ended up hitting a tree at between 40 and 45 mph (police worked it out as a part of theyre prosecution case) head on. Unfortunatly for me it is the biggest tree down the whole road! and either side of the tree is a 7 foot ditch for flood prevention that would have tossed the car. The crash completely destroyed my right ankle which needed surgery and is know full of metal. The impact knocked me semi unconcious, and a fuel line ruptured setting the car on fire. Luckily an event called the Tempest Rally was on, and one of the paramedic and fire cars for the even was just round the corner, and he got my out of fairly quickly and put out the fire. I was the only person who was hurt in the accident. The damage to the merc came to £14,300. I still class myself as a very lucky boy. Ill try and find some photos of the car, i know i kept them somewhere.....

just done a compairson with the 300 and a GTR, as expected, the 300 requires considerably less horse power across the range to achive the same speeds

They look like Skyline GTR front seats.... Do they fit easily into the zed, and are they electric like the zed???

I think the leather/alcantara mix is the one to have! Leather on the outside of the seat (bolsters etc) and alcantara for the inners. Would love to be able to have the cash to go the whole hog on a retrim! would finish any car off soooooo nicely!

I know how its feels, when i had the first of my 205 GTi's i was driving through aldershot on the way home from a mates in the early hours of the morning. Was traveling at a sensible speed, came up to a roundabout, all was well, and as i exited the r'bout onto the dual carrigeway the back end went out REALLY quickly with no warning, did a complete 360 spin and kept going in the direction i was heading. all i could say was something along the lines of "WTF happened then????" i was completely confused for about half an hour. Must have hit deisel or something. Was an interesting experience to say the least. I span the zed a few times messing about on roundabouts, and it wasnt a shock cos i was kinda expecting it, but when it happens when youve done nothing to provoke loosing stability in a car, it doesnt half mess your head up!

Thanks for all the kind words people. To be honest i was expecting to get slated for going down the whole compensation route. If this whole saga doesnt improve my patience, then i dont know what will! Cheers again Nick

Peeps, Ive noticed a distinct lack of notices letting people know when the reading jap meets are taking place, so i thought id take it upon myself to give everyone loads of notice for the next one. Same location as per usual: Jnc 11 M4 and head towards Reading Town Centre along the A33. It is located on the same Retail Park as B&Q, in front of Reading Madjeski Football Stadium Starts at 6:00 - 6:30 till around 9:00.
