See you by the coffee machine
Aaaaah, gotcha. Very true, but Civil service/Armed Forces jobs are essential. The country just wouldnt run without them. Things have got bad enough for me to make a drastic move, one me and Jodie get married in 2010, we're emigrating to Canada perminantly! Cant wait to get out of this hole!

Detailing
Im a memmber on that site, and am really just a novice when it comes to it. I wouldnt say it gives me a semi at all, I just find it very relaxing detailing my car/bike, gives me some peace and quiet from the missus, and lets me clear my head of all the crap i have to deal with at work. And Si is right, unless you have seen a properly detailed car, you havent seen what a car CAN look like. Makes the whole car much more vibrant

tubs
I pretty sure standard tubs on a zed are T22's. Cant help you about the scooby tubs dont know if they would fit zed manifolds or the exit of the exhaust turbine would be in the correct place for downpipes to fit, why would you want to. With the cos of fabircation of the manifolds and down pipes to make them fit, you could Hybrid the standard ones with 360 roller bearings. Much better option if you ask me!

Engine blueprinting
So am i right in thinking that, in order to make the perfect blueprinted engine, you are relying on the parts you change, so for example, the big end bearing shells, to be perfectly made. SO theoretically you could say by one set of shells that have been made just after retooling, and other at the end of the tools life and its just pot luck which ones you up with off your supplier???

Come on guys, whos coming drifting :)
To be honest, i would love to get into drifting. I used to make an effort to get down to some of the practice sessions and watch. But to be honest, my main goal is to get another TT. Unfortunatly finances dictate that motorsport is just beyond my reach for the foreseeable future. But its deffo something i would love to do. Wouldnt to bottom end of ANY zed find it hard work (in regard to the lubrication system) as the big ends dont seem to be the most robust out there?

The last poxy niggly bits
To test that the thermostat is working, start it up from cold, then put your hand on the bottom rad hose (the really long one). it should stay cold until the engine gets up to temp and then get warm very quickly. If it warms up slowly then the thermostat is stuck open. Im pretty sure this is the best way to test, but no doubt duffer will correct me if im wrong.

The last poxy niggly bits
Stu, to be honest fella, not youve got the car up and running again, personally i would change as many of the cooling system pipes ASAP. the vast majority i had with my zed was all caused by the cooling system (burst rad, burst both matrix hoses and the matrix itself, top rap hose). I know its more money to spend fella, but i think silicon/hard pipe replace ments is the way to go. These water pipes are getting so old now, most will fail at some point in the future, prob sooner rather than later. Just my opinion of course, but i would hate to see another zed off the road caused by overheating, especially as i learned the hard way! HTH nick

What do zed owners want from a garage
Sorry mate, but £55 plus vat is nothing! That pretty much the average garage will charge for labour. Infact thats not a bad price, I cant think of any official dealership that charges less than that, apart from the like of TATA and Peradua You wana try owning a ducati, official dealership rates for working on my old bike was £110 ph plus vat!

What do zed owners want from a garage
A willingness to not only tell us what needs doing, but explain why or how at happened and help us understand the fix, Zed-Education as it were. I understand as a business, profit is the whole point and without it, there is no business. But if someone is willing to spend a few extra minutes with me explaining things, im more likely to come back and be a repeat customer and recommend to my friends. Knowledge is power, and if your not only well informed, but fully understand what is happening, it gives zed owners a better understanding of there cars, and is reassuring to here that your mechanic understands what is going on enough to explain it to the customer to the point where they understand what is happening, instead of just handing over a load of cash. And as previously said, QUALITY of work. I would rather pay top dollar for high standards of work than save a few quid and have the likelyhood of further problems down the line.

Age of Z owners?
