Hey, all that good work belongs to Az ! It's certainly a good way to go, not 100% on the actual size/shape of the cooler, I know that his was taller than some that people fit, so he may have some thoughts on which option is best.
  4. 165 (indicated) but didn't have my GPS with me and I doubt whether that's more than 155 in reality. Ooops, just read the thread more thoroughly, guess my car isn't totally standard... ;)
  5. Clearly a rally driver
  6. What I do is decide what I want, then go to somewhere that cares, like Richer Sounds for example. Don't think they do TV's though ...
  7. http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/41_861804.html Excellent !!!! :D It even includes 8 free cans :D (I wonder if they have an off sales licence ?)

Actually auto's do have an unpleasantly high failure rate unless you get a decent external oil cooler fitted - and one that doesn't get blocked ! Manuals also have their share of problems, typically with the syncho on 4th gear and clutches wear out, but they're service parts so you live with that. The real difference between a manual and an auto failure is that when the auto goes it gets taken to the repair place on a truck. When the manual goes it just graunches a bit and you have a while to find a decent repair place before major damage is done. On the subject of colours :- Red - very 70's White - very 80's (and always dirty) Grey - just fade into the background Black - see above Yellow - for extroverts and attention seekers only Silver - timeless and anonymous but currently in fashion (see all Mercs, BMW's etc) Blue - perfect, as good as it gets, beautiful and sophisticated :D
  9. The satellite is a bargain for me because my ISDN bill used to be ~£130 (+VAT) per month for work, plus my personal BTinternet bill of £15.99
  10. Yeah, get one that blocks inbound connections !!!! LOL I use ZoneAlarm pro on my firewall machine and the basic (free) ZoneAlarm on the other machines behind the firewall. Remember that a good firewall should also filter traffic leaving as well as arriving. The one that comes with XP is pretty poor.
  11. This looks like it :- http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/27634.html
  12. I remember reading something about this on the Register I think. It's a 'feature' of Messenger that can be exploited to enable direct advertising. Don't you just LOVE Micro$haft !!!
  13. You're not wrong, it's called Castrol Response and it's £9.49 a litre Castrol Response Dot 4 Synthetic Brake Fluid. --Exceeds FMUSS-116 Dot 5.1 specification. --Anti-Vapour lock maintains braking response. --Compatible with all Dot 3; 4; & 5 brake fluids Anyway, whatever it is it's gonna be better than what's in there now. To my knowledge it's been there for 5 years, which probably means it's vintage 1992 !!!!
  14. Broadband by Satellite only. In order to get 2 way (as opposed to satellite down and modem up) I use BTInternet or BTConnect as it's called to the business world. £59.99 per month (+VAT) and £900 for the install !!!!!! Guess what - I don't pay personally ;)
  15. 10 mins with a standard air filter box - I don't think so ! :D
  16. Nottingham I think ....
  17. Yep, the sales geezer will talk your ears off but I had few complaints about the quality of the car and the conversion/preparation work that was done on mine.

In that case it's 95% associated with the speed sensor on the gearbox.
  19. Exactamundo ! There is a black vinyl strip under the spoiler, it's there to match in with the rear lights and give a kind of symetrical black, oval effect. This is definitely the case on J spec, not 100% certain for UK/US spec though, but the colour of the car does not affect the colour of the vinyl strip - it's to match the black rear panel/lights, not the bodywork colour.
  20. There's always Luke at the Z Centre of course - he may be nearer home for you ?
  21. Pretty certain on my car they are silver lettering with a black surround. The strip of vinyl under the spoiler on which they stick is black, so that would make sense.
  22. Well the obvious answer is Pete at PPS, but I recollect Jaylox saying that he sprays cars, although he hasn't been around for a bit - probably off to mix up more carbon fibre pattern paint ! LOL :D
  23. Err well I went round Harrys and bought Castrol something or other, basically DOT 4.1, Was about £8.50 a litre I think. As for the Greenstuff, well they were on Warrens recomendation and suplied at a good price by one and the same (!) Anyway, if they turn out to be sh1te then I'll be getting some of the horribly expensive Kevlar jobbies PDQ. Cheers all
  24. I could recommend DRS in Worthing, that's where mine came from and they did a fine job. Can't remember the number but it's on that 'other' site ;)
