Cleaning Materials whats the best ect
There are tons of ally polishes around. One of my favourites from bike cleaning days was Belgom because not only did it clean nicely, but it left a kind of seal behind it which stopped it from going white and furry so quickly. You can also get tubes of stuff called urm .... something like Solvite but that's wallpaper paste ... erm ..... nope, AutoSol - that's the stuff ! A little abrasive but works great. For wheels there is WonderWheels but it contains phosphoric acid (I think) which strips all the lacquer and so you always have to give them a good coat of wax afterwards. For those black strips arpund the windows which seem to go kakky on so many cars you can use vinyl roof black. I presume it's still available, they're not exactly in fashion these days but I have a tin that's about 15 years old. Presume boot polish is pretty similar though.... Just found this ... http://www.eagleday.com/belgom.html Probably a UK equiv. somewhere.

High tickover
Unless you have a Consult/ConZult then the easy way is to disconnect the battery for a minimum of 30 minutes.

High tickover
Mine is also doing the intermittent high tickover at the moment and I have yet to clean the idle valve, but a throttle body clean AND ECU reset have improved it.

import or uk
On the V5 it will say the date at which it was imported into the country or something similar. Also, imports don't have a VIN number as such, they will use the chassis number.

Top Queer !
Now you''re not going to tell me that last nights rather laboured Top Gear was better than this evening sharp and informative 5th Gear ? I like Clarkeson, he's the daddy when it comes to cutting comments and slagging off normal cars, but the whole show, pretty much on his own, well I thought it was just tiresome. Now you get Tiff, Quentin, VB-H (and even the fat bloke with the silly hair) and it's a better show. If only they would take on Clarkeson and run that show for an hour, then it would be perfect !

I do but Az has got it at the moment. Perhaps if you can arrange to get up to Slough he could show you how to use it etc.

Top Queer !
Bit disapointing I reckon, they seems to be working hard to be dangerous and interesting (plus no VBH) So what's yer fave then ? Top Gear 5th Gear Driven Pulling Power

Buying a 300zx
Juddering under braking is likely to be either the front tension rods (£120 ea + fitting) or warped front discs. The vibes when driving is likely to be either the prop support bearing (£150 + fitting) and/or the rear gearbox support (£50 + fitting) Dunno about the buzzing though ....

Safety Boost?
To be dead certain you can prove it with a Techtom or Consult/ConZult. If the BSCVs are not 'on' then you are stuck in 'standard' (not safety) boost.

Manaray wheel
Just did a quick search on Google and not much shows up for the UK. Looks like your best bet will be North America or Japan.

God this place has gone to ground!
Can non-subscribed punters read the For Sale section ? I agree that only subscribed people should be able to post there.

is there a safe boost level when cold?
With most chips the car is in standard boost until 60 deg C, the the boost solenoid control valves are enabled allowing the boost to be raised to 9.5psi (or above depending on how you've frigged it). If the BSCV's are disconnected, with say a boost controller, then I presume you can hammer it from cold without knowing.

Squeaky boot?
You may be able to adjust the catch on the lock. One of the bolts is on a slot and you can move it down up to about 10mm I think. Worked for mine.

Jeez - they've made 20,000 already ????

Heavy Clutch?
If the clutch is stiffer than normal then it's possible that your servo is Donald Ducked or that the vacumn feed to it has been disconnected. Or I guess you may have some high spec aftermarket clutch.

Headlight power..?
Couple of things here. 100w is the power rating of the bulb not the light output. I can give you a 1000w bulb that gives out no light whatsoever - it's called a resistor ! Therefore, the light output and to a lesser extent the colour of the light are important. Secondly, if you are going to use a 100w bulb in the standard headlight shell (IMHO) they get too hot. If you are soldering on flying leads to the bulb then you will need to use higher melting point solder, heat sheathing on the lead and wire that will take the additional current. Also drilling a couple of small holes in the headlight shell above the bulb may help to vent some of the heat. I did some tests comparing 55 and 100w bulbs and with the 100w ones the exterior of the headlight shell reached over double that than with the 55w.

Iffy Zed car dealers
I can verify the manufacturing date of any Jap Zed and probably most UK ones as well. Just send me the full chassis and model numbers for Jap cars or the VIN code for UK models. Easiest option is to email me a photo of the VIN plate.
