Finally fitted my TC..
Mine is stealthly tucked into the ashtray. Took a while to make it fit right though. Neatest option would probably to get Henri's s/steel or carbon ashtray inserts and remount the switches properly.

If only I had the money..
Well I know you blow up engines for a living, but there won't be many people with enough spare cash to go one ot two size overbore pistons just for the hell of it. For that extra few cc it's just not worth it. Nope, my guess is that's it's gone bang big style and a major rebuild was called for. Anyway, it doesn't matter if it's done right. (how many rebuilds have you had now ? LOL :D)

300zx Recon
They are in Maldon which isn't far from you. MJP are also close by in Brentwood and there is a Toyota specialist (not maindealer) around Rayleigh somewhere and they have a pretty good reputation.

Corsa Fan !
I had a Nova 1.4 SR for a week once and it was brilliant fun. Thrashed it to within an inch of it's life and gave it back. It only did 26mpg and people had always told me that small cars were economical !!!! ;)

Car pulling to the left.
If the pads/caliper is really dragging on one side then the disk will get red hot and it should be pretty obvious. Much of the time pulling to the left will be due to the camber on the road or tracking problems. Tracking will show up as uneven tyre wear.

Arrrrrrrgggghhhhhh <dead zed>
If the oil is black then it's doing it's job. Your prob is almost certainly electrical, so don't panic too much yet.

Intercoolers for sale
And whilst we're not being picky .... the header of the post did say "Intercoolers for Sale", not "Lunched my Zed" ... so I think most of the replies are in keeping with the theme, before someone further down sidetracked it a bit ;) LOL

A day in the life of a BMW driver
The other day I was cruising along as usual in my BMW coming onto one of my motorways, which was very busy with inferior cars. First off, I couldn't believe that the volume of traffic DIDN'T slow down for me AT ALL as I came off the slip road! I had to squeeze into a barely big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway! (The driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.) Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the BMW lane. (Why do underlings use this lane? Surely everyone knows it is for BMW drivers only?) Anyway, once I was in the BMW lane and posing along at 110mph enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the BMW lane of my motorway, but was driving at a ridiculous 70 mph! Naturally, I got to within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn't be in the BMW lane of my motorway and to get out of my way. Of course, once he realised it was a BMW behind him, he did just that, but I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me! He also tried to keep up with me and when he realised I would out-run him, he put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car. Needless to say, I was eager to oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew - that my car goes fast! Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had to take my driver's licence to a Police Station to be sent away to have some points put on! (They're not free points either - they're £20 each and I was only allowed 3.) But the man at the Police Station said that because I drive a BMW, it won't be much longer before I earn the full 12 points, and then I won't even NEED a driving licence, so they will take it off me! See, now THAT's the sort of respect you get when you buy and drive a BMW!

Brake Discs
The discs are only held on by the wheels and wheel nuts. They can't actually fall off unless you remove the calipers though. The little threaded holes are used for removing the discs when they are stuck - you just find an appropriate sized bolt and screw it in until the disc pops free.

Mmm... maybe went to far with the `T `cut
No it's clearly pineapple, some sort of giant tomato and the lower ones are watermellon :)

(Manual) Gearbox Oil
MT-90 is the one usually recommended. It's what I have in mine.

why so wet?
Or you're getting in the car with wet coat, shoes etc. Or, heaven forbid, your heater rad is leaking !

Winter is coming. Dont forget to do your checks
Yes they do work, they measure the specific gravity of the mix. Assuming that you have the right type of antifreeze (ethylene glycol not methanol - is that right?) then it will tell you down to what temp you are protected.

Colour change or just a respray ?

Interesting article on Nissan turbochargers
It suggests that the turbos can before they break up, how the rest of the engine copes is a different matter !
