Stillen!
Maybe, but once you've added £100 (say) + VAT + import duty, plus Mike has to make a living, I bet you won't find it hugly different. He will get cheaper shipping than you and he gets a Stillen discount. Still, always worth a try ;)

Z Catalytic Converters - any details ?
AFAIK US (&UK??) cars were only fitted with one precat and the xx to which Az referred was 55 seconds. I think one of the reasons Zeds started to get phased out in the US was because there is only room to fit one precat (steering gubbins in the way perhaps) and they were finding it impossible to meet the increasingly tight regs in places like California.

Stillen!
Order it from Mike Feeney at MJP, then you'll know.

Shift at will - clock addon
Just had a read of the spec and my guess is that most of that info is pulled from the ECU. You get many of those features and lots of others with a Techtom MDM-100.

prop prices
Thanks for the clarification Jeff. Better luck next time eh ?

prop prices
Jeff, What's different ? It's the front half including the bearing that I've got. Does that mean that the NA gearbox is different too ? Cully, If you want to try the prop you can just come and collect it sometime.

I have a spare one from an auto turbo, even has a good support bearing on it. Kinda heavy to post though !

Front fogs?
The front fogs are, front fogs ... and therefore not much use as driving lights. They help but not enormously.

Switchable Auto
Can't remember where I found this, but it explains it all quite clearly. The 4 speed automatic transmission is a lockup type. When in drive mode, gears change 1-2-3 then 3 lockup, giving the effect of 4 gears. When overdrive (4th) is switched in, the change goes 1-2-3-4 then 4 lockup, giving the effect of 5 forward gears. There is a communications link between the automatic transmission control computer and the engine management computer, and this amongst other things, allows the engine computer to retard ignition, thus momentarily reducing engine power, during auto gear changes. Auto gear changes therefore are very smooth. The automatic transmission fitted to the turbo model is stronger than the one installed in the non turbo. Although the gear ratios are almost identical, there are many minor differences between the two transmissions. The Japanese automatic transmission has many more features than the export models. A "power", "normal" and "hold" switch is fitted to modify transmission shift points. The effect of the "power" setting is to delay upshifting, but does not alter the maximum RPM that change occurs. In order to change at the red line or rev limiter speed, one must operate the shifter manually. The hold setting allows holding prevents downshift into second when the shifter is set to "D", and prevents downshift into first when the shifter is in "2". Another curious feature with the Japanese version is that lock up is also available in second gear.

Found my front clunking noise
We're talking about the sway (anti-roll) bar right ? What about just doing the clamps up FT ?

PCV valves
There seems to be more than one type of restrictor. Mine were like thick brass washers (12mm) with a hole in the middle. One of the Aud guys said his were like a wire mesh, and they also referred to them as flame arrestors !

Tyres
assuming you have UK spec wheels you should have 7.5" rims on the front and 8.5" on the rear. Which means 225/50/16 on the fornt and 245/45/16 on the rear. Jap spec should mean 7.5" all round.

UK Z Club web site has been tarted up !

PCV valves
The devices are sealed units, so the springs are inside. It's very important to get new rubber pipes as the old ones will be too hard to re-use. I had to remove mine with a wood chisel !!! Also, make sure the new pipes either have the restrictors fitted or you transfer them over from the old pipes. I didn't on mine and had to take it all off again to put them in place :( Not a difficult job, just a bit fiddly - should take about 30 mins per side I reckon.

polished plenum?
Not much chance I wouldn't have thought - it has a rough cast finish !

There is a 'change avatar' button. You then get a new screen which allows you to upload new pics from your computer - make sure they are appropriate size though ...

Why different wheels?
I heard that 45 profile tyres are not legal in Japan, so they used 225/50's all round. That may only be part of it of course because the Jap cars are also limited to 112mph. Of course all the NA's have 225/50's all round too.

Click the User CP button at the top then select Edit Options. It's called an Avatar (Dunno why ????) and is down the bottom of the screen.

Prop centre bearing
In my case it wasn't the bearing as such that failed but the rubber support part, allowing it to sag and the prop to run out of true. Not sure whether I kept it, I'll have a dig around in the garage sometime to check.

Stumbling Idle
Does it do the same with the a/c on ? If not then check out the connections to the AAC valve.
