  1. I have a feeling that a bit of careful clutch adjustment may alleviate the problem.
  2. Well if you write summat and it doesn't infringe any copyright then it could be in there .... ;)
  3. That must be the search party !
  4. Nah, don't bother with JWT anymore .... fuel is too expensive these days !
  5. I have a similar problem with 1st, not bad but just a little notchy, although it is worse when cold and almost disappears when hot. The syncho problem on 4th was improved with fully synth Redline but it's still not great and horrible, horrible things can happen if you rush a gearchange, especially at full throttle !
  6. Hmmm, I feel a cunning plan coming on .....
  7. It's not too difficult, just get your toolkit out and have a go. Only real hassle is that you have to take most of the door trim off to get to the mirror bolts and on mine the plug on the end of the wire wouldn't fit through the hole in the door ! Can't remember whether you can get to all of the bolts when the mirror is still attached to the door, I had to take the whole assembly off on mine because the mirror stem was broken.
  8. Three guys, an Englishman, a Frenchman and a Welshman are out walking along the beach together one day. They come across a lantern and a genie pops out of it. "I will give you each one wish" says the genie. The Welshman says, "I am a farmer, my dad was a farmer, and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Wales." With a blink of the genie's eye, 'FOOM' - the land in Wales was forever made fertile for farming. The Frenchman was amazed, so he said, "I want a wall around France, so that no one can come into our precious country. Again, with a blink of the Genie's eye,'POOF' - there was a huge wall around France. The Englishman asks, "I'm very curious. Please tell me more about this wall. The Genie explains, "Well, it's about 150 feet high, 50 feet thick and nothing can get in or out." The Englishman says, "Fill it up with water."
  9. Actually I very seldom watch films because I get bored too quickly and always seem to have more important things to do. However, when I do watch them I spend more time looking for continuity errors than following the story. Anyway, who gave those Roman Centurions digital watches ? LOL
  10. Yeah, I wondered about that too ! Also, remember the bit where Bond and the gurlie fell out the window whilst handcuffed together ? They grab the ropes off some dirty great banner which tears all the way down the side of the building and fortuitously stops at the bottom to break their fall (ripping their arms out their sockets no doubt!). Anyway, hanging on the ropes they then swing back and forth until they each kick in a window pane and simultaneously crash through a couple of sheets of (sugar) glass into the office inside - still handcuffed. Well the odd thing was they went either side of a window frame member and still had the handcuffs on the other side. Paul Daniels would have been proud of that ! LOL
  11. I have posted a link to the correct tool in the past, try a search. I wouldn't say that having the tool makes the job easy, but it does make it possible ! The passenger side one is fairly easy to get to (in a Nissan Zed sort of way), the driver side is not too bad if you have an auto and just plain bloody difficult if you have a manual because the clutch servo is in the way.
  12. Yeah, I've noticed this in the past, a real annoyance. Could try a different (non-proportional?) font.
  13. I'd do it from the top down, so to speak. Can't push a camel through the eye of a needle etc (unless it's camel vindaloo of course!) ;)
  14. Plus some front mounted rocket launchers to clear the road when someone pulls out in front of you - would also be useful for encouraging BMW drivers to move out of the outside lane ! ;)
  15. I use an airline, but if you're blasting the stuff back down the pipe then eventually it'll come back to the top and block again. Trick would be to disconnect the pipes under the bonnet then the sh1te gets blown out completely I'd guess.
  16. Hmmm, you might be able to cut the bubbles with a modeling knife and squeeze the air out, but removing the film as a whole is very likely to damage the heater element. If its not too bad then I'd be tempted to say, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' !
  17. Have to agree with you there. Plus don't forget maintenance, I'm pretty certain that the service intervals for autobox oil are so far apart that it's seldom done at all.
  18. No film on mine as far as I can tell. Th heater element is just a think foil that is stuck on the inside, mine had a couple of breaks in it which I repaired with that conductive silver paint, didn't have to remove any film to get to it though and I VERY much doubt that the film would be applied before the heater element.
  19. Well the Top Gear "theme" was safety but it heavily disguised by proper things like indecently powerful cars (I want one!). I notice that people often refer to Zed's as a 'safe' car because of it's size, weight, cost etc. I have never really believed this because it's simply too old and so I did a little research :- http://www.safecarguide.com/mak/nissan/idx.htm http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/testing/ncap/cars/1347.html And before you start feeling comfortable, these figues seem to be for the US model and side impart bars were only installed in Series II upwards UK Zeds and I think only the later ones have airbags. 350Z's look good though. Drive Safely ! ;)
  20. Yup ! I did a lot of testing and on the road, day to day, there is no noticable difference running/performance and only a tiny improvement in mpg. Certainly doesn't warrant the extra cost.
  21. The overheating usually refers to the autogearbox, you can get a proper oil cooler fitted which solves that problem. As for the turbos, just use good quality oil and change it frequently, don't thrash it when cold or stop the engine immediately after a thrashing without letting it cool a little.
  22. But like me you have an SE chip and they are mapped for unleaded, unless you have something extreme. I also use unleaded virtually all the time, only exception would be a dyno day or maybe long runs on very hot days when Optimax adds extra safety margin.
  23. Toe out, as well as incorrect camber will cause the tyres to wear on the inside edge. Too much toe in will cause wear on the outer edge. Getting the right balance is the tricky part ... 24. Does anyone from the surrounding area have a paper or something. Would like to find out who it is and just really hope it's not someone from here.
