  1. Yup, still got it on the TiVo. Not much Toymota in that thing though, just an eff-off engine, space frame and a few acres of plastic ! Awesome though. It was also featured in another tv prog about a race in New Zealand (mainly becuase it won!) up this little hill they have. It had the best time with a little over 8 mins I think. Owner is Rod Millen I think.
  2. Pity all you guys with t-tops that leak ! LOL :D
  3. Look in the centre console - remove the radio etc and it will probably be in there somewhere.
  4. I'm not surprised ! I can socket it for you if you have a suitable chip. If not and you have a manual box then you could use one of Devin's maps that are downloadable from his site.
  5. Nope, thanks anyway, but got one now. Cheers
  6. Try http://www.lifesure.co.uk I think the policy is actually underwritten by AON anyway.
  7. It's possible, just very fiddly. 10mm socket I think, short ratchet and helps if you remove the battery first. Pic of the item is on http://www.z-car.net which will help with locating the last bolt.
  8. The front plate is the standard size, but the letters are smaller. Approx 65mm high rather than the 80mm on a normal plate.
  9. The 'standard' UK rear plate is oblong and the Jap ones take square plates. Not sure what the deal for the front is, but I've nearly always had an oblong plate on the front, it's just that now the letters on the front are the same size as the rear
  10. According to the DVLA web site ... Current Requirements on the Display of Number Plates :- http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/regmarks/reg_marks_current_requirements.htm#europlate Are stick-on number plates legal? No, number plates must meet the British Standard requirements and we are not aware of any self-adhesive number plates that are able to meet these requirements. Doesn't give any other pertinent info though, although it does make it quite clear that you can legally use motorcycle sized plates/letters on import cars - just like mine.
  11. There only seems to be one manual box listed :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/mt/035.gif But there are two autos :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/at/187.gif

If one small light like that causes your battery to go flat then it's probably near the end of it's life. With a bit of simple maths you can work out roughly how long a battery would last with say a 21w bulb, if you know amps/hour rating of the battery.
  13. The autobox is definitely different ...
  14. I believe that the manual gearbox is the same on all models, but on an NA the final drive ratio (differential) is 4.083:1 vs 3.69:1 on the TT.
  15. Do you mean does not turn over or does not start ? Check the earth lead from the battery to the body. Dunno what it is about PPS, reckon Peter must run all his electrickery off people's car batteries, because they always come back knackered ! LOL ;)
  16. Does it only run on for as long as the fuel pressure is up ?
  17. Two potential problems come to mind. You may have blown/seized one turbo, but if you say the car runs OK, then it's more likely that the pipe that links the boost gauge sender to the plenum has come off. Lets hope it's the second ....
  18. Since fitting a UK spec rad to my car I have noticed approx a 5 deg C drop in water temp (according to the Techtom).
  19. Looks like your old rad is a UK spec that has had the in/out pipes linked (Your car is Jap IIRC). New one will be a direct replacement. Shouldn't be a problem.
  20. Maybe a silly question, but I assume you have a JWT chip specifically setup for 555cc injectors ?

AndyZ will probably be your man. What's wrong with AdamR's ecu ?

By clean I meant (soft) water without calcium carbonate in it. Obviously, you'd need to filter out the lumps of dust/dirt etc.
  23. 300zx.org.uk not dead, just resting - the domain name company has royally f*cked up the DNS entry. It can currently be found the hard way by using :- http://judas.usnuk.net/~andy/ or the link in my sig. Hopefully it will be resurrected properly soon.
  24. Some more detail would be nice. I already have an EPROM programmer but would like to understand what this does in addition. Ta
  25. No there is not, but you may get a small amount blown through the turbos and PCV's. Yes, you should use super unleaded, or Optimax on a Jap import running the standard ECU mappings.
