  1. It certainly feels quicker in the midrange. Third gear is ballistic.
  2. It's certainly not slower ! Haven't bothered to get to the bottom of the mysterious dyno readout though.
  3. I had the SE fast road rebuild on mine and it's a massive improvement on the standard (shagged) box. Then an opportunity presented itself and I did the job properly by converting to manual - love it !

  6. Yup, that's the stuff I used.
  7. What about DOT 4.1 ? I used that, can't remember the full description, but made by Castrol abd fully backward compatible with all fluids and available from Halford for about £8 per litre.

  12. I can't believe people aren't ripping your arms off for these, unless I misunderstand the price ! So is this £120 for all 10 or £120 each ?
  13. I have Tokico adjustables all round and have been very happy with them. Adjustable for damping, but not springing that is. I stuck with standard springs. That basically brought things back into line because the original shocks were knackered. At the same time I installed the Suspension Techniques anti-sway (roll) bars and I think these made the greatest difference. Strut braces, well maybe one day, when I can find some that fit correctly.
  14. Some types of pads have wear indicators that are pieces of sprung metal that scrape on the disk and vibrate/squeal once the pads are getting too low. Check to see if your pads are that type. If it's just normal brake squeal then it can usually be cured by a) making sure the two shims are fitted on the backs of the pads and b) putting a smear of coppaslip on the backs of the pads, shims and piston face.

Realistically that was 14 years ago, if it ain't broke then don't worry about it. Most Fords etc of the same age are already in their graves !
  16. It's a webcrawler - it's visiting every possible page, god knows what it does to the server loading !
  17. Yeah, great mod, certainly makes an autobox behave more like a proper manual box ! ;)
  18. Inktomi is a webcrawler or spider. Discovered this thread about them. http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum35/1226.htm or http://www.inktomi.com/
  19. No they don't. "Moderating Duties" must refer to the document they are reading.
  20. The really biziarre thing is that 40+ of the guests are coming from the same class C network. My guess is that the forum is being indexed by a multi-threaded search engine. Ever heard of inktomisearch.com ?
  21. Seem to recollect that this part is approx $260 from Concept Z in the US
  22. It's not anonymous to admins ;) and maybe mods too !
  23. Don't waste your time replacing the resistors, that is seldom the problem. Just resolder every joint on the board, paying special attention to the links between the double sided board, the display and the power connections.
  24. 1994 (June) Soarer 4.0 GT-L. Dark Blue Metallic. Facelift example. 93,652km (58,205 Miles - after recalibration of odometer). V8 4 Litre 280 bhp + Lexus' legendary 4 litre V8 on which you could balance a 50 Pence piece at idle (So the UK advert said of same engine in LS400's). Equipment is complete: Full light blue leather, Electric glass sunroof, Wind Deflectors, SRS, Wood Trim, Cruise Control, Electric seats with memory settings & heating, deep pile carpet & OEM fitted mats, Rear Wiper, ABS, Switchable Traction Control, PAS, Climate controlled A/C with display on screen, High quality integrated hifi with CD Changer in the boot, TEMS adjustable suspension both for height and firmness. Original alloys and tyres are also included with this car free of charge. Updated lights are fitted and include driving lights integrated into the front bumper. A TV is also included in the repertoire of goodies, though it won't work in the UK without special modification. Typically this costs approx. 400 GBP to have done professionally by a specialist. The car is of auction grade 4. Interior is in excellent original condition. There is a little wear to the driver's seat (Pic available), though this can be reconolysed very easily & inexpensively. There are some small scratches to the rear bumper. the Driver's side - rear wheel arch has been repainted at some stage and paint match is poor. There are some minor key scratches to the passenger side too (Pictures available). Finally, on the bonnet there are some stone chips. Condition is overall excellent. The paint faults altough mentioned are to be repaired to original levels of finish & quality as part of preparation in UK. These are mentioned only for the purpose of giving an accurate current description. This is a unique Soarer, not one we are likely to find again easily in ths spec - It's the first we've bought like it in the last 18 months. £9,375 OTR including full SVA conversions, conversion of electronic Speedo & odometer, de-restriction, SVA test, Odometer recalibration to miles, Paintwork as described, MOT, 6 month's tax and a full valet before collection. Contact us to receive full pictures and details. A deposit of £1,000 secures this car. Seems to be an auto rather than a manual, judging by the interior picture though ....
