GoJapan - Brands Hatch September 26th 2021
Just received an email today from the organisers detailing instructions for the event for those who registered to be on the Club stand. *** If you would confirm that you have also received the email by posting in this thread that would be great *** Entry to the site is via the "Show entrance" (Airfield gate) from the A20. Aim to arrive at the Yellow zone entry time of 7:30am. You will need to download and print off the Yellow zone pass and fill out the requested details and display in your car's windscreen on arrival. We are on pitch 11 in the Yellow zone (see below). As you enter the venue you will be directed into the show area and towards our Club stand. Event officials will help you get into position. Please look out for them as they are there to help you. A sign displaying our club's name will be positioned in our area and the edges will be clearly marked on the ground. As space is limited, we need to make sure all our cars fit within the boundaries. We have space for 8 cars. As well as a car pass, everyone will need a ticket to get in. These can be purchased online in advance before 4pm this friday on the event website or at the gate, albeit at a slightly higher price.

Opening times are detailed here under FAQ's https://www.gojapan.co.uk/event-information "What are the show opening hours? Public opening hours are 0900-1830hrs. Car Clubs and Traders can arrive from 0700hrs" We should get our vehicle/stand passes emailed directly to each person who registered: https://www.gojapan.co.uk/club-stands/ "On the lead up to the event, our system will then email instructions and vehicle passes direct to each club member."

If you put your VIN into the search box in the link below you can get the build date and factory spec. http://gtr-registry.com/en-300zx-z32-uk-europe.php If you PM me the details (VIN and reg) I will add your car to the UK specs database I'm building.

I'm back (almost)!
ClassicLine Insurance (www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk) for the last three years. Agreed value and no problem with extensive list of modifications. Howard (BigH) used them and recommended them to me.

Leather seats
In the past I've used Zaino Z9 and Z10 with great results, but seem to be NLA https://www.detailedclean.co.uk/interior/leather-care/zaino-z9-z10-leather-maintenance-set-917 So I've got some of this to try: https://www.autofinesse.com/en/hide-leather-cleanser-1 https://www.autofinesse.com/en/hide-leather-conditioner

Vibration / rattle sound
Have you had those timing belt covers off and checked the timing belt for condition and that the hydraulic tensioner is correctly tensioning the belt? The VTCs may also be the cause.

Buzzing sound from overhead console
Cabin temperature sensor - along with clean and applying a light grade oil, you can also adjust the set screw - correct tension is necessary for the fan to work without squealing. Otherwise replace with new Part#27720-31P00 http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/FAQ/FAQpages/tempfan.html

Anyone breaking a 300ZX?
Dash pods part#'s 25167-40P00 BRACKET-SWITCH 25267-40P00 BRACKET-WIPER S Make sure you use the correct size self tapping screws for the pods as even new they can split the plastic bosses. Before mounting them I carefully wound in the screws (and backed off) to cut the plastic threads.

JDM Number Plate
I asked because of 14A (b) in the ammendment: "(2) After regulation 14, insert the following regulation— “Size and spacing of characters: special cases 14A.—(1) This regulation applies in relation to any vehicle imported into the United Kingdom which— (a)does not have European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval; and (b)is so constructed that the area available for the fixing of the registration plate precludes the display on the plate of a registration mark in conformity with the requirements of regulation 14." Clearly the JDM rear bumper number plate area precludes the normal size plate (regulation 14) so this ammendment applies. For the front plate there is no physical restriction on the JDM front bumper on using a regulation 14 compliant plate. So in practice it would be down to the authorities discretion in the matter. At least that's how I read it.
