  1. Inside the ECU mate, I'll see if i can find ya a pic.....
  2. Many thanks matey, if I need ya, might just give you a shout! Aye pal, no need for air con in sunny Scotland eh? Thanks again guys, I love this forum!!!
  3. have you got the vacuum tank/s too? I didn't, so i went to a scrap yard, and got off a primera, a vacuum tank, haven't got any pictures i'm afraid, but it's about a 4 inch sealed plastic cylinder, and came with a one way valve, for a fiver! I fixed the tank next to the battery, and ran a hose across the back of the engine, to the tank, and back to the booster, works perfectly, all for a fiver! As i read on here, without the tank, it can cause the pedal to pulsate, or even push it's self down whilst driving, also tho, i think you can get around this by using a couple of feet of tubing from the balance bar to the booster with a one way valve, but that might be quite untidy! Just a tip matey......
  4. no worries matey, glad ya sorted it pal, it's a right PITA!
  5. I tried both ways, took me a very long time as i remember, but ended up managing it with the booster and clutch pedal 'partially' seperated, than after a lot of back ache later, eventually it went home, i found you have to just have the two sections just together, so you have movement, but try and get the bolts only just into the pedal, very faffy indeed, but you'll get there mate.... HTH
  6. I'm with you on that one mate, each to their own tho, and if your after shaving a few pounds from your zed and you don't need it, then fair do's, although I'd rather keep mine....
  7. It's putting it back that is bothering me, haha, I'm extremely mechanically minded, and very practical, but have a memory like a siv, so it's gonna be a bit like a very large very stressful jigsaw puzzle :-) Anyone got a picture of these couple of bolts? Thanks for the info guys...
  8. My new loom has finally arrived, woohoo! (or so I thought :-) How the hell do ya fit it! Nightmare, I've taken the dash off (as I have a few things that need seeing to anyways), but there's no way the ECU plug will fit though the hole, and you can't see the hole from the inside at all. Am I right in thinking it's the heater matrix stopping it from going through? I don't really want to take that off, heard it's a ball ache, and my driver's seat is fully forward and no battery or loom on the car, so can't move it forward for access, so don't wanna have to remove that too! Also, I'm working all weekend, just hope i can remember where the 5000 pieces of dashboard, heater ducts/pipes etc. go! Anyone done this, have any advice? Would be nice if i could just cut a new hole in the bulkhead, nearer the ECU and bung the old one up! :smash: Also, the loom is a left hand drive one, and to be honest, it seems all arse over tit, and can't see how i can make it fit (although i'm sure you can, but i haven't even got the damn plug through the damn hole yet) :) Any help/advice is much appreciated guys, cheers........
  9. You didn't tighten the screw on the ecu connector too tight did ya? that can cause the connector to bend a bit, sounds like that may be a potential culprit, i had it on mine, but was causing mine to miss.... Have a fiddle with it... HTH.
  10. Probably (hopefully :-) summet n nowt, however, finding it is usually the hard part! Best of luck buddy...
  11. Oh yeah, just noticed there's a car in that pic too....
  12. Oh yeah, just noticed there's a car in that pic too....
  13. I have a mines, and that's araldited in too, so ya can't remove it..... Not had her running right yet, fitting a new loom wednesday, so hopefully happy days then!!! :D
  14. gutted for ya matey, i've had something similar, did the manual conversion, and ooh yeah, happy days!!!! Well, it will be once i've fitted the new wiring loom, it never ends! :-)
  15. sorry mate, completely wrong!!!! 1000k ohms, 1 meg, oops.... hehe
  16. :-) i wasn't callin you lazy, hehehe ;-) 100 ohms or there or there abouts, as that's what it is bypassed with, a 100 ohm resistor, so the ecu doesn't realise any difference....
  17. Lammypie, nah, she's off the road, awaiting new wiring loom, but parcel force are being turds as usual, should have it next week, fit it, plenum water bypass, couple of brake pipes, happy days!!!!!!
  18. It should read 100 ohms, and put your multimeter om milli volts, (I think, doesn't give out much) and tap it, see if you get a reading..... HTH
  19. I think you'll find that info in the manual mate.....
  20. I'm pretty sure, once you've paid for them, and the transaction is complete, they cannot change the price, you should've stuck it out mate....
  21. i tried all that, couldn't shift it, probably due to being lay on my back with not much clearance, so i drilled a couple of careful holes in it, (careful not to go all the way through and drill into the crank) and then collapsed it inwards with the trusty hammer and chisel.... Then danced around my garage for a few minutes :-)
