  1. They are actually torx bolts on mine, just look like hexs....
  2. cheers guys, don't intend taking the box off very often :-) so I'll go OEM... Thanks...
  3. Who is the best person to get one of these from, and how much? And also, a price for a set of flywheel bolts..... Tudor...
  4. Good question, does the manual use an oil cooler? I'm doing a manual conversion at the moment...
  5. Also, don't know if you used one, but a pneumatic/electric impact wrench with a 50p shaped socket, knocks it loose rather than brute fore and snapping things...
  6. IIRC, it just bolts on with the two bolts, from what I remember from cleaning mine, and that's what it looks like in the diagram, if that's any help at all :-)
  7. Excellent mate, cheers for that...
  8. Hey all, I'm going to see a guy tomorrow who is breaking a TT manual, and I'm removing the clutch pedal assembly and booster, just wondering, has anyone got any pictures of it on the car, or any tips for removing it? Reason being, by the time I get there, although he said his garden is well lit, it's still gonna be pretty dark, so any help would be appreciated :-) I'm hoping i don't have to remove the dash, I've got pretty small hands, and I don't mind laying on my back for a while (who doesn't, haha), so that might help... Cheers...
  9. Any idea if it will fit a Zed mate (after a fashion :-)
  10. It's not just the master cylinder i need, I need the pedal assembly too...
  11. Cheers mate, yeah the booster is about 350 quid new, so I'll go for an NA one :-) Finding the clutch pedal second hand is hard, as most people breaking a manwell zed, sell it all as a conversion kit.... I'm a bit short of bread at the mo, so new isn't really an option, but if it wasn't too exspensive then i would, but if I can find a similar jobby and make it fit, I will....
  12. Does anyone know if a 200sx or any other nissan clutch pedal/master cylinder will fit a Zed? A bit of modifying isn't a problem, as long as it isn't ridiculous, cos I'm sure you all know, these for the Zeds are like rocking horse poop, and I really need one! Cheers....
  13. I'm doing the conversion bit by bit, all I now need is the clutch pedal/master cylinder assembly, and the words 'Rocking horse' and 'Shite' come to mind.... ;-)
  14. If you look at the engine from the front, you can see your two main metal water pipes, the thermostat is located behind the lower of the two, can be quite awkward to get to the bolts, maybe remove some bits and bobs, and small hands are a bonus ;-) The pipes are sealed with liquid gasket by the way... HTH
  15. I guess it depends on how longs the wires are or if ya wanna lenghten em, after recent work, I noticed there is a lot of room behind the centre console thingy (behind the radio) well, on mine anyways!
  16. I didn't fit mine, but found it behind the plastic cover in the foot well (driver's side) to the right of your right leg, whether that's good or not I don't know!
  17. You put in your post 660cc? It says they are 440cc's, but that's as far as my knowledge goes :-) Which is strange, as at the bottom it says 'sizes available from 550cc to 1000cc' I just noticed... ;-)
  18. My appologies then mate, never worked on my back brakes (yet :-)
  19. The ones he looked at are auto, I'm after the manual ones too...
  20. Yeah, where from? :-) My Uncle just said that worldwide, the standard is to stamp on the top of any bolt if it's HT, the grade, and my flywheel bolts have no stamp on, which to him says they aren't anything 'that' special, which is a bit weird, and he really does know his onions, he part built that 10 mile long particle accelerator thingy in sweden, but i bet it wasn't as hard as re-buildin a Zed tho, haha... His opinion was that 8.8's would be fine, taking into account the power of the car, number of bolts and the length and surface area of the bolt head. A simple 'yes' would've been ok... Anyways, it's on hold for a mo, see if anyone comes up with a source for em on here, can't imagine 8 HT bolts shearing off when ya put ya foot down, wouldn't really want to find out tho...
  21. Drums? Shoes? :duffer:
  22. Yeah, that does kind of make sense, but they have re-cooped their R&D costs a thousand times over, and their prices (and it's the same for many other car manufacturers too, I'm not just on about Nissan) don't reflect that... ;-) It's just a bit of a bummer, when we are all feeling the pinch at the moment, and because of extortionate prices on parts, I can't get my beloved car on the road, does my head in! Shouldn't be like that (in a perfect world anyways...) Anyways, my Uncle is cheif engineer at Manchester University, so he's gonna sort me some out, at least as good as original, hopefully.... I'll put my soap box away now and shut up for a while :-)
  23. It's strange, every picture I've seen of the interior of a Zed, the hand brake always comes up really high.... ?
  24. Good luck mate, if in doubt, use a hammer, haha :-)
