I seem to think Darwen to be quite nice. I don't think Preston is a bad place though I don't know it that well. It's not a place that attracts bad news. Think most of the rotten eggs gravitate to the big Cities of which there are quite a few close to preston.
  3. Mondeo 2.0 T Diesel realy goes well and out handles and performs the Vauxhall. Ask Phil He'll tell you. Go for the Ghia X if you can.
  4. Like Lagrath says. once you stop the wheels spining and lay the power down You'll catch the STi very quickly and fly past. Which always pees them off and a rolling start from 30mph onwards they just disapear in your rear veiw. One thing to remember though is when it comes to tuning. Once you've gone past the Chip, boost controler, better coolers you'll need bigger front brakes. Then it gets really expensive to do it right. The same year Supra TT will cost £4K more to buy but will get to £500 RWHP for about £3K less. So depending how much power you really want depends where you start. Good £4K Z TT + £1500 = 400RWHP for £5500. Which is cheeper than a standard Supra, but 500RWHP Z will cost You the same as a 500RWHP Supra Unless you buy a good one already done.
  5. I know you can get internet via satelite. Very fast too. Don't know how much, I'm sure Sky are on of the providers.
  6. That is nasty. One of the guys here has had to go and throw.
  7. Don't. Handle like a cotten bag of spanners. Drinks juice just at a hint of the ingnition key. don't do the work horse bit as well as a Navara. Don't drive as well as a car and is shite off road. Only purpuse is so people can look and say Hay he must have money and no sence.
  8. I think the USA cars would hav been mapped at the factory for the 92/3 ron used out there. + The 280bhp figures were based on the voluntary agreement wouldn't have been an isssue for the US and Euro Models as they were built on a different production linr to the RHD cars. So I believe the 300bhp standard Us setup as it makes sense. + The UK Cars were made on the same line as the Jspec so I can't see them fitting different ECU's for cars destined for the UK.
  9. I'm gutted for you Steve. I'm just starting going through the Divorce thing myself and having to make dicisions I never wanted to make as well. You'll get through it and things will get better. + You have to hold it all together because your kids will need you Buddy.
  10. Ah you've got me there because the last time I ever had Nissan sevice a car of mine was my Patrol because it was new and servicing was included in the purchase price for the first 12 months. That was in 1998/9 and they put blue stuff in my Patrol??? The Green stuff comes in 50 gallon drums and is 30/70. The pink suff I have never seen and know nothing about so I could be doing Mr Dealership a disservice, but I doubt it. most dealerships cut corners to make more proffits.
  11. I bet its not faster than my manual
  12. 1.5 ltr of Super Glue will sort that auto box :slap:
  13. Only ever miss the auto box when in heavy rush hour traffic round London ,Birmingham or any big city. I know Dublin has got very busy to what it used to be, but round your neck of the woods you'll be so glad you changed to manual. I promise.
  14. That is only 30/70 and not suitable for the 300ZX TT .....surprisingly. OK well its not surprising. The TT has water cooled Turbos which if you had a glass bonet and went for a real blast then got out of the car as soon as you stopped, you'd see that they where glowing Red like the embers of a fire. This means that the coolant in your car must have an extremely high boiling point our it would just turn to steam. Steam being a gas would not keep the turbos cool enough (+ presurise the cooling system etc) and the bearings would expand and wear/ or if run long enough would burn the oil and seize. On a track day giving your car serious hammer Water temps off 110 C and oil themps of 120 C are comonly seen. so the oil in your Zed has to work much harder than your standard motor car + the reason for High Glycol to Water ratio is not because Glycol is a more efficient coolant than water, but because it has a much Higher boiling point so stay a stable liquid longer and therefor at higher temps works better, because it doesn't boil off. In my 1994 UK owners hand book it states a ratio of 70% glycol to 30% water. Summer coolant sold in Halfords is good stuff The pink one. + Water wetter works fine with Glycol coolants
  15. I bet you have ajustable Tie Rods and some kind of camber kit. Numpties who don't know how to set camber, toe and caster. Had this with mine when Demon Tweeks set mine up. I took it back three times and they couldn't get it right. Took it to Niemaster in Warrington and they sorted it straight away. I got Tweeks to pay for new lower arch liners Via MJP and reinburse me the cost of Niemaster. The problem with all these firms getting the lazer alinement kit is they don't understand what their doing and they all ajust up the tie bars and fook up the geomertry. I've seen Zeds with the foot print 2 in longer on one side than the other. The toe in may be the correct angle and the camber then they ajust the caster to within tollerance, but the whole geomertry of the car is wrong.
  16. If you had read any of the background to this protest or even seen the channel 4 new program dedicated to it last week you'd realise they ain't going in. + If that was the fear then 3 or 4 well placed water cannon inside the perimiter fence and half the number of coppers tucked out the way would be able to stop people getting in. Also they have be organised to that location so as to be easily managable precisely to minimise any threat of that happening. A 1 on 1 Police presence is about intimidation. Just look a what horrific damage that could be done at a football stadium. + At grounds Like Man utd that hold in excess of 70,000 people. A number of which who are known to exhibbit unruley and unlawful behavour and I'll wager that less than a 500 coppers Police that. Why? Is it because it would cause less deverstating loss of life? I think not. Or is it because the Airline companies would seek greater financial compensation for loss of profits? Just don't get me started. You being an ex Marine as well will know just what is going on out in Basra and Helman. We know we need security, but for who and what? don't you think the priorities and resorces are being control by the wrong people for the benifit of a few. Thats why we must support the right to protest.
  17. I've got to agree with Chris (Deve8) on this. It just shows that big business is in control. I personally don't agree with their view point, but they have every right to hold it and i would always support that right. Once companies and individuals are able to quash and silence people from expressing opinions in a democratic way then Democracy is dead and Buried. The scale of the Police presence is soley to intimidate. If you ring the Police and tell them that 2 armed men have broken into your house they can't even send a copper round and if they do it will be 48 hours later. An airline company ring up and say " we have a load of people exercising their lawful democratic right to peacefully protest" and the old bill can come up with 2000 coppers just like that to try and stop them. What does that tell you of how much the state values us. These people arn't terrorist and have made no attempt to storm the place. They have even been through due legal procces and been told they have a lawful legal right to carry out the protest. How much do you value democracy.
  18. I've driven a 80's Silver Phantom and would have thought they'd be similar. They don't hang about, but they don't like corners either + I wasn't overly impressed by the stopping power. Bit like driving a high powered boat. You have to plan and start manovering well in advance to get it vaguely where you'd like it.
  19. Congatulations. It's the best feeling ever being a new dad. Hope the little lady is fine and well. Disagree with fairladyzgirl though. He looks switched on already and has mischief written all over him.
  20. I think he means he has a Slick Top. As opposed to LHD US SWB He's had it quite a while. Not sure if its TT or NA.
  21. My Data has changed since then Steve. I've had 3 SWB since. 1 TT and 2 NA's all Targa's thought.
  22. Did you get those pics Danny.
  23. Needs to be a multi option as i've got 2 SWB and a LWB at the mo and all are Targa tops though the bent SWB is going to become a stripped out slick top for next summer as I decided I'm going to fix her and do the chevy bit to her as originally planned.
